Illustrator CS 6 not working!

Hey Guys,
I just installed Yosemite and tried all my programs. Everything works fine except Illustrator CS6 (16.0.4).
It tells me to download an older version of Java SE 6-Runtime.
Can I just download the old version without having trouble with other programs?

I have the same problem!
Illustrator CS6 ran fine before I installed OS X 10.10 Yosemite on my MacBook Pro. But it never ran once afterwards. When I launch AI CS6, it says it needs me to install the legacy Java SE 6 runtime. Did anyone else encounter this? I don't want to install the older version of java without knowing if it'll fix the problem, or what the impact will be to other programs which all seem to run fine after my upgrade to Yosemite. Any guidance out there for us?

Hi Team,
My illustrator CS6 short commands have stopped working.
Any time I try to use any CMD + Key, illustrator will not react.
This has been on going for a few months, I have tried resetting preferences but nothing has changed.

Hi Jacob,
I have tried resetting preferences and few other options.
Anytime I press the CMD key the option at the bottom just changes from selection to direct selection, if that helps.
Should I uninstall and reinstall illustrator?
I no longer have my access key.

6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Illustrator CS5.5 Not working due to unsupported architecture?

Currently running OS 10.5.8 on an intel based mac- do I need to upgrade to Lion for this to work? Illustrator CS5.1 Trial worked fine.

Did you uninstall your trial properly? If something went wron, run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. Other than that I could only imagine the licensing system messing up and/or one of the installer components like AIR. Anyway, if you still have the trial package, you can always try and install that, then simply hack in the serial number to turn it into a full product.

Adobe Illustrator CC will not work

I subscribed to CC last week. I downloaded Illustrator along with a couple of programs. Whenever I try to open illustrator, I receive the error window "Adobe Illustrator has stopped working: Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." I have tried to delete and reinstall and it did not fix the problem. My computer is more than sufficient to run the program. I have an i7 with 8g Ram. I am running Windows 7. Has anyone encountered this issues? I would appreciate any advice.

I uninstalled and ran the cleaner tool. When I tried to reinstall I recieved the following errors:

Adobe Illustrator CS5 SDK not working with Xcode on Mac OS X Lion 10.7.1

I recently was interested in developing an illustrator plug-in. I downloaded all the required files listed on the adobe site, including the pdf files.
I was following the "getting started guide" while working on Xcode 4.1 when I saw that it required a "Carbon Bundle", since there wasn't one. I did my research and found out that I could download the bundle, which would only work on Xcode 3.2. However, when any of the sample files which are Carbon-based are loaded, Xcode 3.2 crashes while Xcode 4.1 notifies me with "Base SDK Missing".
I would just love to have the sample code running, and I'm pretty sure I can handle it from thereon.

I can get it to build on Lion with Xcode 4.1. The steps I went through were to first set all the "Build Settings" > Base SDK to Mac OS X 10.6 like below:
Then when I built I found it would get stuck on TwirlFilter think there is a problem with Xcode as after force quiting and restarting the computer it was able to compile successfully.
If you get any LLVM errors like error: extra qualification ... to do with AIPlatformFileDlgOpts then you just have to go to the line with the error and delete AIPlatformFileDlgOpts:: though I think that only happens if you have not done a clean before you built and there are still projects with Base SDKs set as 10.5

It may be a range of different things, I am afraid.
You may try the list, unless someone comes up with something brighter.
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file, and when it is not caused by issues with opening a file from external media. I have an issue with my illustrator cs6 version as when I am trying to open work which I have worked on, on my computer it is now saying that I have missing plug ins, PDF???? and will not let me open anything??? OOTB script supplied with Illustrator CC does not work

Hi everybody,
I'm searching someone that could tell me how to use the scrpit supplied out-of-the box with Illustrator CC whose french name is "EnregistrerDocAuFormatSVG". As I have only a french version of the product, I do not know the english name. This script is supposed to export all opened files in Illustrator in SVG format in a suppplied folder.
Each time I used it, the SVG that is done is not correct whereas the same operation I have done manually using "Save As..." is working. In other words, the SVG done manually is not the same as the SVG done using the script !!!
So I think that there are some errors in the script or some missing configuration.
Please help me solve this problem.
I already post a french post for this problem, but it seems that the community is more english people...so I repost the post in english.
I will also post the same post in "Scripting Illustrator forum", because I do not know which forum is the best to receive such a problem.

I was just reading this part of reference guide when you answered to me.
After some tries, I succeded modyfing the original script so that SVG is saved in a good way...
But now my work is not finished: I need to automate this three steps in whatever way.
I thought that the best way was to automate the processus of loading a file and running the script using automation...but even if the program is working, the result is not good (I do not understand why). When having a phone call with support technical team, I understood that whereas Illustrator permits to automate, this operation is not supported.
So I have to find another way that is supported by Adobe to do the same thing as the automation function...
I though that I could write a command line that could take a paramter (my input file I want to convert) and run Illustartor with some program line parameters.
Is there some way to run a script after having open a file in Illustrator ?

Libraries in illustrator cc is not working, it empty but photoshop is work fine.how to fix it? (Mac os)

As you see the Libraries panel in Illustrator:
Could it be that you've got a library selected that does not contain any content? There is a drop-down menu at the top of the panel, where you can select different Libraries.
Also another indicator to look at is in the lower right (Status/Progress indicator):
A Creative Cloud icon will indicate if any synching needs to occur or if the libraries are up to date. If it displays as a general cloud icon, all should be OK (this is assuming that when you work in Photoshop or Illustrator you're using the same Adobe ID).
However, if it has a tiny 'x' below it, it points to a server connection error, or
If it looks like a circle with arrows the Libraries are syncing or require syncing:

Arabic in Illustrator CS6 in not working

I downloaded CS6 MENA version (invoice above) and it was working fine, up until today. Now the arabic settings are not showing in Illustrator - I can't change the orientation of the text and the text is not joined. I checked the "about Illustrator" drop box and it doesn't specify that this is the MENA version. I checked Indesign, it doesn't have the probelm with Arabic text and the "about Indesign" section says that it is the MENA version.

Illustrator update does not work

I've a CS5 on Macbook Pro. Today I tried to open Illustrator on it, but it kept failing. I moved it around from place to place and restarted and so on and so on (thinking this might help) but no improvement. Then I noticed that I need to run some updates!!! (I'm a little slow on these occasionally...) Anyway I ran the updates, but at the end of it - it told me that Illustrator failed and Bridge was updated with faults... I re-booted, but same message - 'Failed to install - please fix problem and continue' - but what problem are they looking for me to fix? I am absolutely clueless! If there is anyone out there who can help me with my dilemma - it would be most appreciated if you could help me. I thank you in advance.

You can open the firefox instead of the safari. It works. However, they should solve this problem. Another bug, after saving the document, don't expect to have the figures and tables in the same place when you reopen it. THIS WAS THE WORST SOFTWARE VERSION EVER! I am totally upset. It is worst than powerpoint now.

Installing illustrator from cd not working

I have bought adobe Illustrator on cd and copied the contents to dropbox to install on my Mac 10.9 but every time I click install is gives an error. NOT cloud, just cd! Help please

KBabb I believe you may be facing file permission errors. It is not clear to me if the failure is with updating the updater mechanism or authentication to utilize the software. This could mean that the file permission failure could be in a couple different locations.
What other Adobe Creative software is installed on this computer? Was any type of Migration/Transfer of files performed?
I would recommend running all available uninstallers in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers/. Once this is done please also use the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal. This process should remove the existing files from both locations which should resolve the file permission failure which you are facing.

Illustrator shape tool not working properly.

Hello. I am not quite sure how to word this. Whenever I try to use the basic shapes took (ellipse, rectangle, etc), I end up with mutiple shapes. I am trying to draw a circle and instead of one circle, Illustrator creates several. Has anyone encountered this problem before? I need help ASAP.

Your Tilde key ( ~ ) is stuck, or at least Illy thinks it is. Unless you have a non US keyboard, in which case it is another key. Here are a few known keys on different other keyboards:
UK: ' (just below the @, to the left of Enter, at least in CS6),
Icelandic and German: < (just to the right of Shift),
French (only Mac): £,
Norwegian and Danish: æ (just to the right of L)
If she is wrong and it is unstuck, you may try the list to convince her.

Send to Illustrator/Photoshop is not working

I've got the latest versions of the CC2014 apps installed. I'm signed in and CC App is running on my Mac taskbar, and I checked in Illustrator and Photoshop and it shows me signed in to my account. I'm signed in to my CC account in Draw and Line on my iPad, bit when I tap "Send to Illustrator" or "Send to Photoshop", I get the progress icon, then a message saying "Sent", but it never shows up on the desktop app. I've tried it with the apps running and closed. I've removed previous versions (CS6 and CC), but no luck. I've tried making sure both iPad and MacBook Pro are on the same WiFi network. No luck so far. Any ideas?

The Send to Illustrator/Photoshop operation sends the file to all of the machines linked to the same account you sent the file from in the Mobile apps. The first time after you restart the Creative Cloud app, the Send to... operation can take longer to receive these notifications to launch the desktop app and open the file, specially with older releases of the Creative Cloud app. Can you confirm your version for the Creative Cloud app? The latest version is 1.8.0.447. You can find this information in:
Settings\Preferences\General Tab\Account
Also, updated versions for Adobe Illustrator is 18.1.0 and Adobe Photoshop is 20140926.r.236
