Illustrator CS2 doesn't highlight selected items any more

hello, i use illustrator cs2, and since a few days - without having changed any options - the program doesn't highlight selected items any more. neither does it highlight selected text... so editing items becomes a guessing game which is extremeley annoying... i can't find anything on this in the help file... i hope anybody here can help me!

Hello,
I have an old version of the creative suite that is all right for what I do (information for a charitable organisation for medical research) installed in 2008. For quite a while now every once in a while when I start up I get a screen asking me to register. But since I already am registered Adobe just said to click on later and go on working. But this morning the screen is empty so I can't click anywhere. I've tried restarting and even turning off the computer and trying to restart my day.
What can I do ? Help !

I had my CS3 freezing this morning on startup. I hope you didn't reinstall or
anything bacause the sollution is quite simple: What helped me was restarting
Photoshop with the internet cable pulled out. Apperently it was freezing on
the registerscreen, and by removing the internet cable I surpassed that
screen, to see another screen.after that i could start it up again with the
internet cable plugged in again.

Illustrator CS2 Doesn't Start For User on Windows 2000

I've recently installed Adobe Illustrator CS2 on a Windows 2000 system. When I start the product when logged in as the Administrator, it starts fine. However, when I start the product logged in as a user, it goes thru the startup process, displays all of the various tool windows, and then before it gets to the first time window, it just closes. No error messages, nothing in the Windows system or application log, it just closes the same windows it just opened and then exits.
I've tried setting the permissions on the folders listed in the Windows Rights KB entry, with no effect. I've tried installing a postscript printer, setting full rights on it, and using it as the default for the user.
Does anyone know what file right, user priviledge, or other feature might be causing the problem? Thanks.

I wasn't aware that it required Power User rights. This is somewhat of a high security environment, and that can be difficult.
Do you, by chance, know what features of Power User rights are needed? I can perhaps grant those to this user, and make it work.
Do you think it is having a problem accessing portions of the registry, or files in certain folders, or something else?

The new iTunes has a somewhat different look from the previous version. You can get the old look back if you prefer it by doing View > Show Sidebar in iTunes. Or you can adapt to the new look.

10.5 isync3.0 doesn´t like my K800i any more. Do You know a solution?

H, since i use leopard my K800i Sonyericsson won´t syncronize any more.

Installing PhonePluginfolder new -won´t do under Leopard
Calender can be updated but not adressbook.
In the Isync supported list the Mobile is listed, which doesn´t really help me.

I'm from that company... But you don't need any additional software solutions or plugins for the K800i.
The K800i has been natively supported by iSync since version 2.4 was released in March 2007.
That's why we don't make a plugin for the K800i - as there's no need for it.
Did you go through the list of tips on the page I linked to? Did it help?
And what do you mean by "how many versions of Sony software there are..."?

DVDStudioPro doesn't show graphic subtitles any more

My DVD Studio Pro 4.2.2 has shown graphic subtitles (tifs) until kind of recently.
Even earlier created projects doesn't show them any more.
What happend. Has anybody else noticed this thing?
How can I make them visible again?
I'm on OSX 10.6.8

There shouldn't be a need to mouse over the tab to see what the title is. The space is wasted otherwise, so why not display the title there whether or not the menu bar is also displayed?

Illustrator CS2 will open, but cannot use any functions

For some reason I am able to open files in Illustrator, but am unable to undo, or open a new file, or basically use any of the functions in the tool bar. Please help!! I've been trying to troubleshoot this on my own for about 3 hours w/o success!!

I've tried both deleting the AIprefs file, and moving the entire folder to my desktop and neither worked.
More detail about what I'm experiencing:
I can open Illustrator, but unless I open a document from the intro window I can't do anything else with the tool bar across the top (i.e., the menu buttons that include, file, edit, object, type, select, filter, effect, view, window, and help.) I am also unable to close the program using the "x" button in the upper right hand corner. In order to close Illustrator I have to cntl alt del my way out. Have either of you heard about anything like this before??
I truly appreciate all your help!! I have 3 projects that I can't work on b/c of this issue!! UGH!

After the kit kat update, S voice doesn't seem to work any more to wake up my phone. I've redone all settings for it with no luck.

"Hi Galaxy" will not wake up my phone after updating to 4.4.2. Is there any solution? I went back to scratch and did all settings to no avail.

Okay after two hours I got a tech on the phone that accessed the task manager and did a cache clean up on the entire phone. This worked and now Hi Galaxy will wake up the phone.
1. Go to Settings/Application Manager. Slide the screen to reveal ALL applications then scroll down to S Voice. Hit CLEAR CACHE. Then while you are still on that screen hold down the home button and hit Task Manager on the bottom left. Under RAM click CLEAR MEMORY over and over until zero applications are closed. Then restart the phone.
2. After the restart turn the phone back off. Once the phone is off you will hold the UP VOLUME, HOME BUTTON and then hold POWER at the same time. Once the phone turns on you can let go of the Power Button. RECOVERY BOOT will appear in the top left. You will come to a menu of options up in the top left corner. Use the VOLUME DOWN button to highlight WIPE CACHE PARTITION. You will select this option by pressing the POWER BUTTON. When this short process is over it will highlight REBOOT and just hit POWER again to reset.

Why doesn't Apple support iSync any more?

Apple hasn't added any additional cell phone support in iSync since 10.4 was released. If I want iSync support with my Verizon service, I have a choice of three phones (out of FIFTY) -- and two of those phones cost over $150, and the third is about as low-end as you can get. No Chocolate, no V-Cast, NOTHING. Apple wants the Mac to be the center of my digital lifestyle, so why isn't Apple working towards that goal?

Yes, they have.
For Sony Ericsson phones, Mac OS X 10.4.3 added K750, D750, K600, W600 and Z520 support, Mac OS X 10.4.6 added W600 & W900 support, and Mac OS X 10.4.7 added Z530 & W810 support.
Many other manufacturers phones had support added in the iSync 2.2 and iSync 2.3 updates part of Mac OS X 10.4.6 and 10.4.7 respectively.
If Verizon offers a poor selection of phones, then maybe you should look for another network provider. Apple has no control over the handsets each network provider offers.
The LG Chocolate phone (like all other LG, Samsung etc.) phones uses a proprietary syncing protocol, unlike Nokia, Sony Ericsson and Motorola, who all use the industry standard SyncML.
You should direct your comments towards the mobile phone manufacturers who repeatedly refuse to build support for industry standards into thier phones, and refuse to provide Mac syncing support like they do for Windows.
Why do you think Apple should provide support for other manufacturers phones? Microsoft doesn't do it for Windows... the phone manufacturers do.
Apple have provided the system-level SyncServices framework which allows third-party device manufacturers to create iSync plugins for their phones. It is hardly Apple's fault if certain manufacturers choose not to.
So, complain to your network provider or phone manufacturer - not Apple.

Suddenly, clicking on thumbnails in eBay won't open the item any more.

Usually when I click on the thumbnail pictures in eBay, it will take me into the item. For some reason, over the last two days, every time I click on a thumbnail instead of taking me into the item it shoots me back up to the top of the page! The pointy finger is present but it isn't doing anything. I can only get into the item by clicking on the item title text. I have tried this in IE and have had no problem at all so I know the problem lays with Firefox.
I tried sending this through website feedback, but the 'submit feedback' button isn't working either!!! Sigh.

HT3965 my itunes doesn't look like this any more. i no longer get the side menu. where did it go?

I have an Ipad 2 and a mini and they both display as Bettys Ipad. I want one to say Mini. How can I change the name on one of them.
My itunes no longer has the menu on the side. Now, it only shows a small drop down menu for chosing movies, music, etc.
Can someone tell me another way of doing it now, or tell me how to get that old menu back?

I need to retrieve my bookmarks from another laptop which doesn't boot to Windows any more. I have managed to copy the Firefox Profiles folder from that laptop - how do I now import bookmarks to a new laptop?

I've tried replacing the contents of the old Profile folder into the new folder and I have also tried just replacing the urlclassifier3.sqlite file, but that doesn't work either.
Googling hasn't helped me over the last 24 hours but surely there must be a way to do this - right?

Yes, there is a way to restore your bookmarks from your old laptop to the new one. Note that just replacing the contents of old Profiles folder will not work because your profiles.ini file contains a different profile name.

Acrobat stopped and doesn't recognize serial nr. any more

I have design Suite Standard installed on Windows 7 (62-bit). Acrobat suddenly stopped working. Everything else in the Suite works fine. Several reboots didn't help, so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall (clicking on only Acrobat X). When I input the serial number, I got the message that the s/n was invalid. But it is correct.
This is not the first time I have had to uninstall and reinstall Acrobat X from the CS6 Suite. The program works fine on a second computer, which is the only other place the Suite is installed.
I have no other versions of Acrobat or the Reader installed. Also (and I suppose this is normal) among the Programs listed to Uninstall, Acrobat only stands on its own. The others are all under "Adobe Cretive Suite CS6".
I am really stuck.

ITunes 10.4 on Snow Leopard doesn't have AirPlay button any more

I just updated my iTunes and now I can't find AirPlay button, which use to be on the bottom on the window.

Nevermind, I found the answer : AirPlay button doesn't appear if there's no AirPlay device available. I had to restart my Airport Express and now the button's there.

CC desktop app (OSX 10.7.5) doesn't show installed software any more. How can I fix this?

Hope somebody can help with the problem I'm having this morning. After updating the Creative Cloud Desktop app for OSX, the CC Desktop app no longer shows my installed software (Photoshop 6 & CC, Fireworks CS6, Dreamweaver CC, Illustrator CS6 & CC, Flash CS6, Muse and Edge).
How can I fix this?

Please go to Applications>> Utilities>> Adobe Installers and see if Photoshop uninstaller is there, if not then go to Photoshop folder in applications and check uninstaller there. Uninstall Photoshop and reinstall using CC app.
If not, then download the cleaner tool from http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html and uninstall Photoshop and install it again.
