Illustrator CS3 - Double sided Business Card in two pages PDF

Hi,
How do you create a double sided business card in Illustrator CS3 and be able save on one PDF document with two pages? I know how to create a single sided business card (90 mm x 55 mm with 5mm bleed) and save in PDF without any problems. I'm now trying to create a two sided business card in the same illustrator file and be able to save as one PDF but with two pages.
I searched a bit and tried playing around with page titling but the result just isn’t working out (the size of the business card in the PDF is too small).
Any help would be really appreciated!

I downloaded CS5 trail and it resolved my issue. So much more easier to create a two sided business cards and save in PDF.

  • I need a tutorial on printing double sided business cards through adobe illustrator

does anyone have any suggestions on where to find a tutorial on printing double sided business cards through adobe illustrator?

First of all double sided printing set-up from Illustrator is something that is very specific to the printer you are using, so you'd need to refer to your printer's user documentation to review the correct settings. Having said that the steps you take are very similar for all printers.
Here are some steps that might be of help:
The easiest way to this is probably to place the front and back of the business cards on two separate artboards, for example Artboard 1 for the front of the cards and Artboard 2 for the back of the cards. Use the Artboards panel (Window > Artobards) add a second artboard of you've not yet got front and back on separate sheets.
In the File > Print dialog box, in the General section ensure that 'All' Artboards are selected or define the Artboards Range to print if you have more than two artboards in your Illustrator file.
You might also want to enable Trim Marks (Marks and Bleed section) so you can easily trim the cards after printing.
You can access your printer specific settings, such as duplex or double sided printing by clicking 'Setup...' at the bottom of the Print dialog box in Illustrator.
Mostly you'll find an option you can enable called 'Double Sided'  or 'Two Sided'.
There will also be a second option for either Long Edge or Short Edge binding. For a portrait artboard you'd select Long-edge, for a landscape artboard you'd select Short Edge.
Once you've set the Setup specific to your printer click OK and you'll return to the Illustrator Print dialog box, from where you can now print.
You might need to tweak the position of your 'back' a little if your printer doesn't print perfectly registered.

  • PIXMA MG6320 Double Sided Business Cards Not Printing Correctly

I just set up and used the PIXMA MG6320 for the first time.  Prints regular prints fine but I tried to use inkjet double sided business cards and something when very wrong.  The paper seems the same on both sides.  The brand is Avery.  Side one prints great but side two prints as if there is a plastic finish on the paper.  I left the ink to dry over night and it never did.  Also, the image is terrible when it does print.  As if its on a slippy surface but the paper seems the same flat finsih on both sides.  Its not about double sided printing becasue when I sent side 2 through first, it did the same thing.

  • Designing a Double-Sided business card in InDesign

    Hi All
I would like to design a double-sided business card using InDesign and I have just downloaded the app. I went to create a new document but there is no option for "US business card" size as it states in the tutorial. Is this because I am using the UK Cloud? If so, how do I get around this?
Please advise how I go about designing my card.
    Many thanks
    Sabrina

But this is what I mean.... the option isn't there.
This is what I can see:

  • Create double-sided business cards

    Good Day
I am designing my Business Card in PS (although I know I should be doing it in Il, but not the point here).
Now my business card has a back and front...In illustrator I would create two Artboards. What would I do in Photoshop? Do I extend the canvas to double the size? Or do I create a seperate file for the backside?
What is the correct way from a printing perspective?
    Thank you

thank you for your feedback, appreciate. With regard to the bleed, doe the bleed extend beyond the standard dimensions of the card ie 3.5 x 2 inch , so with the bleed it would be: 3.9375 x 2.25 (1/8 bleed width) ?

  • Double side business card crop marks

    Hi
I am working on double sided business cards. I am using illustrator cs4.  But the crop marks on one side dont align with the other. I am also using a
office jet pro 8600 with duplex printing. I called HP but they said it has nothing to with the printer. They said it is the software that I am using.

    Hi,
May we have a screenshot of your canvases? How you set up your print depends largely on how you are approaching the layout of the project. How significant is misalignment? Are we talking about 1/16th of an inch or whole inches?
There are multiple factors to be addressed when printing couble sided documents. Firstly, you need to be sure that your files are set up so that the front and back are aligned within the document itself. I'm assuming that you are using canvases that are the dimensions of the card. In the print dialog you should also be making sure that the file is set up to print the document in the absolute center.
Secondly, your printer has to be aligned properly. This is another beast entirely, and you will need to consult your printer documentation to figure out how to adjust this.
I know this is kind of a non-answer, but I hope it gets you on the right track. Good luck!

  • Printing 2 sided business cards

purchased C4780 specifically to print biz cards-using Avery cards.  there are 2 sides to the card, but am printing 1 side at a time.,but the printer does not start at the same spot-does not matter which side I do first--does not matter if I select borderless or not..1 side will always start at the edge of the sheet-so most of the info ends up mis-aligned to the other side--have gone thru entire list of "feed" fixes/solutions-spent hrs online with support--anyone got an idea?

  • How to share a double sided greeting card

i created a double sided greeting card (5x7) portrait and selected email attachment under share tab. The result was two separate files. First file was the front of the card and second file was the inside of the card. Not resembling a card. Is there any way to share a card and have it resemble the actions of a real card. (ie: front of card shows first then by clicking next or open or ?? u see the inside of the card?)

The card templates are really designed for printing but you could try saving as a PDF file and then attching that to an email.

  • How do you create PDF of multiple layers in Illustrator CS3 so each layer is on separate page?

I am using CS3 and designing business cards. I have 10 names layed out as a separate layer in Illustrator.
I am now trying to save the Illustrator file as a PDF so that each business card appears on 1 page in 1 PDF document.
The PDF is saving as one page with all the names jumbled together rather than as separate pages. Clicking "Create Acrobat Layers from Top-Level Layers" does not work. Does anyone know how to save multiple page PDF from a layered Illustrator file? Thanks.

with a script probably check with the Illustrator scripting forum
the is away you can manually do it but it is quite cumbersome you make a document large enough to tile to the number of pages you need in the pdf.
then position in order of the tiles the art  and as you position the art you also create a new layer for that art. You don't actually have a different layer in this case for each page you just really need the art properly tiled.
You then have to print to pdf or to postscript and then distill.
Like I say very cumbersome but it was the way they use to do it. CS 4 makes this easier though different layers would still require a script.
    Best to use different artboards.

  • Determine Fields for Business Card on Area Page -  does not show on portal

    Hi,
I'm trying to add new fields on the overview page of service personal data IT0002
I found "Determine Fields for Business Card on Area Page" in customizing and added new field, but it doesn't show in ESS portal service.
Does anyone have any advice what I need to do to make it work?
    Settings
    Infotype 0002
    Infotype Vers. 09
    Structure name: HCMT_BSP_PA_DK_R0002 / HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R0002
Field name   Long field label   Position
    FAMST        Marital status      4
    Br. Olof

Bizcards is only customizable via IMG as of EHP3
Lower releases might require additonal steps/modifications
For EHP3 you need to ensure you are using EHP3 software components and have EHP3 business
function switched on (be careful though switching on this function is only reversal via restore to point in time
before switching it on) - also check note 1159911 if you  have switched this one and/or see no fields
    Worth also trying the following
Check V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD for existing fields and positions
Add supplementary fields and position numbers to V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD
    OR
Check V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD for existing fields and positions
Overwrite required positions and fields in V_T7XSSPERBIZFLC

  • Adobe Illustrator CS5 saves two page PDF

When I open older version AI file in CS5 and then resave in PDF it creates a multi-page PDF. Why? It seems like it keeps the older version.
How do discard multipage when saving PDF in Illustrator?

Are you getting this dialog when you are open your legacy file?
if yes  then, You are getting a two page PDF because your older file contains either crop areas or page tiles.
while opening such file make sure you are  checking  only Legacy Artboard.
please note that you would loose your crop area information from the file in such case.

FH writes pdf badly and reads even worse.
You may try to save pdf with Acrobat (Pro) to older version
but it seldom works. FH can't open eps files exported from Acrobat.
Illustrator can open pdf files well and document(s) can be
saved as old illustrator version or elements may even copypasted
into FreeHand. Note that all the text will appear as single lines
and if letter spacing is other than default lines are broken.

  • Scanned two page pdf to one page incremental

    Hi,
I have been looking everywhere and have yet to find an answer that works. Tryed Bliss, and another program.
I have a booklet that I have scanned duplex. It is of course two pages, odd and even, on one page. I would like to separate the pages into a one page document in the correct page numbering that it should be in. I know I can crop...ect...but that is a lot of work for large documents. We have many documents to make into one page pdfs.
Anyone have ideas? Something that isn't so time consuming?
    Thanks,
    ls

It's not easy, but you can stitch pics together with...
    http://echoone.com/doubletake/
Or GraphicConverter gives options for turning into slide shows, movies, or hand stitching them together, might even be scriptable to do what you want...

  • Illustrator CS4 on Windows Vista 64--opening multi-page PDF

I see that Illustrator CS4 will save multi-page PDFs, so I'm wondering what I'm missing that I cannot open all the pages of a multi-page PDF at once?  I'm receiving illustrations from an artist who uses a much older version of Illustrator and he sends them as a multipage PDF.  It would be a huge time saver to be able to open all the pages at once to grab out the art I need, but I can't seem to figure out how to do that.
I apologize if this has been asked before.  This new forum format doesn't seem to yield itself to easily seeing frequently asked questions.

But if it exports multi-page PDF, why can't it open it? I wouldn't think that would be a compatibility issue. PDF is not necessarily an AI format after all.
In my mind, I guess that defeats the purpose of a multi-page (artboard) file, if you can't open a multi-page file--even if the opening requires some kind of conversion. I'd take a multi-page import or a multi-page convert.
In a google search, I noticed that someone has written an applescript for Mac versions that will import multi-page PDFs to a multiple artboard AI file.  Any chance there is a script available that will work on Windows?  I upgraded my personal (Windows) copy of the suite, but chances are we'll be waiting on CS5 at work (where I have my Mac).

  • One page document is two page pdf

Extremely annoying.  When I print a one page document to acrobat x, and make sure to select 'current' page of a one page document the resulting pdf is always two pages; the second blank.  I then have to print the pdf document to another pdf and this time the 'current' page selector works. Why won't it just print a one page document to a one page pdf?

    Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I'm using Corel Word Perfect 9.  When I go to the print screen it shows me the current (and only) page and notes that it is a one-page document. Then it prints two pages.  I have no problem making the adobe printer the default; probably end up saving some paper that way.  But it would be nice if I could find that "flyover' panel or whatever it's called, that has a check box to force adobe not to print any blank pages. It might be buried in X somewhere but I haven't been able to find it.
