Illustrator CS4 opens fine but cannot open any new or existing files
Hi guys,
I'm running Adobe Illustrator CS4 on my Mac Pro running OSX 10.7 Lion and for some reason I am no longer able to open any new or existing files. Illustrator boots up just fine but 'File>New' gives me nothing. 'File>Open' gives me my usual search box but once a file is selected, again, I get nothing. Dragging a file into Illustrator gives me this response',
before promptly quitting.
I have tried deleting all the files from my Illustrator Preferences folder but doesn't seemed to have helped.
Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Illustrator CS4 opens 3 copies of a file
It is only happening with 2 files, created in CS4. When I go to open either of these documents, I get 3 previews opening at once. I restarted Illustrator, I also tried saving one of the documents as a CS3 document and the problem happens every time. All of magnifications are different, one is at 99.37% and the 2 other open files are also at random magnifications. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Multiple Windows and Views
You can open multiple windows of a single document at the same time. Each window can have different view settings. For example, you can set one window highly magnified for doing close‑up work on some objects and create another window less magnified for laying out those objects on the page. You can create and store up to 25 views for each document.
To delete a VIEW, Illustrator-Help says: Choose View > Edit Views.
## However I found nothing displayed in the dialogue box and it didn't work.
To fix, close all documents, and OPEN 1 DOCUMENT (e.g. the problem one):
Choose Windows > Current-document (at bottom of pane) > Select the document-view you want to get rid of, then delete it using: File > Close. (Repeat for multiple-views.)
# Important Step -
Make a minor EDIT to the remaining-document, like moving an object a few pixels. This allows Illustrator to recognise the document has been edited, so it can also be saved.
Save the document.
Close & reopen the document, to verify problem has been fixed.
NOTE: If you do not make at least 1 EDIT & SAVE the problem will persist. That is, when you close the document it will not save the deleted views. -
Adobe Captivate 7 Crashes Whenever I open any new or existing item.
I can launch Adobe Captivate 7 on my OS X 10.9.2 MacBook Pro (2013 with dedicated graphics card). However, whenever I try to open an existing item or even launch a new item, the software crashes on me. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the program once. I've cleared the preferences cache and opened the "CleanPreferencesMac" file. But nothing else seems to work.
What solutions are there to fix this?Yes. I have the latest version. I figured out the issue. It fixes when I turn off the “Dictation” function on my Mac. I found the solution by chance. I was also having trouble with Photoshop erasing my text every time I would change a font and found the “Dictation” function was the cause. When I turned Dictation off, I opened Captivate and am not having the crash issue anymore!
For anybody else having the issue, just go into System Preferences, open Dictation & Speech and turn the dictation tool off. -
I have to open the next window by right clicking on some link from previous site, who gives, '''''from drop down menu''''', option to [Open link in new tab] and then I can use that "fresh" tab.

My FP-2000 creates a file but cannot write any more in this file. Which can be the cause for it?
I create files on my FP-2000 to save data .
This application functioned very well before ; but now without apparent reason, the file is created without error but the writing is impossible. The cluster of error at the exit of VI "Write File" indicates code 6: "Warning 6 occurred at an unidentified location. Possible reasons: LabVIEW: Generic file I/O error."

Can Illustrator CS4 open files created in CS6? or can CS6 files be converted to be opened in CS4? like CS6 InDesign can be saved in IDML files to be opened in previous versions. ExportPDF is an online service, and there's nothing to download to your desktop, so it shouldn't have affected your PDF files. What happens when you try to open the PDF files? Are you opening them in Reader, or trying to open them in a web browser? I did recently work with another customer on this issue, and it turned out that an update to Firefox had somehow affected the file associations on her computer.
Please provide some specifics about how you're opening the files, what type of system you have (Mac OS or Windows), and what happens when you try to open those files.

I was using Numbers '08 and just upgraded to 3.5.2 but now can't open any of my '08 files. Message says save to '09 first to open. Well, I don't have '09 so what do I do?
Or you may obtain iWork '09 DVD package from Amazon online et al. Sold at very low price now. It is really worth it. Don't forget to apply the iWork 9.0.3 updater after intalling it.

I am trying to import aperture library from macbook to new imac the import window sees the external harddrive but does nt see library. I can open library as a refernce library but cannot import onto hardrive as managable files
I may be misreading what you are trying to do but you don't import libraries via the import window. You use File->Import->Library..
If this doesn't resolve your problem post back with more detail of what you are doing and what is happening.

I have a MacBook Pro here that sees all wireless networks but cannot join any. It gives a connection timeout error with every one.
Internet access via ethernet cable works just fine.It's not uncommon for you to "see" a great many networks, dozens even, yet you not be able to connect to any of them even if they are "open" (no lock icon). There may be a number of reasons for that, such as they're too weak for a reliable connection, or the router may limit connections to only specified devices.
There is only one way to achieve a reliable network connection, and that's for you to connect to your own wireless router. Even that doesn't work if its signal is too weak or if there are many competing wireless networks in your area.
If it's your own AirPort Base Station you're trying to use but can't, the latter could be the reason. The only way to mitigate the effects of wireless interference is to use 802.11n and 5 GHz whenever practicable. Even today you may only find one or two 5 GHz networks being used in an otherwise "crowded" area. -

I read a solution for something that sounded similar.
Anyone in similar position:
Open iTunes app on iPhone, and pick an option from bottom, such as music. Then scroll down to bottom of page and where your iTunes ID is, press on it, and pick sign out.
Then return to home screen, and double press home button and press and hold on first icon showing, until a minus symbol appears in the top left of icons present. Press on each minus symbol on each app in turn, until all app icons have disappeared. Then Restart the phone by pressing and hold the home button and the on/off/standby button at top of phone, until the apple symbol appears in centre of blank screen.
Swipe to turn phone fully on and open settings and scroll down to iTunes and apps option and tap that. Pick sign in and put in your apple ID, it will accept it and then return to home screen and open iTunes a you'll find it works fine
Simple really, but some like me won't think f this themselves!

Hi there, Got Premiere Pro CC 2014.0.1 / 8.0.1 (21) Build, and a weird and very annoying issue : When GPU rendering is turned ON, as soon as i'm importing a .psd (saved with "max compatibility option) into the project, make a sequence with it to make
