Illustrator CS5 closes right after it opens

After many, many months of being a reliable companion, one of our Illustrator CS5 installations has suddenly started closing itself immediately after opening. We've deleted preferences, uninstalled and reinstalled the software, deleted all but the system fonts, created a new user -- all to no avail.
At this point, we know the following:
It's not a font issue (all but system fonts have been deleted).
It's not a preferences issue (software was uninstalled and all remaining folders were deleted).
It's not a plug-ins issue (software makes it to the workspace before closing).
The splash screen says "Tryout Version," even though it's the regular software.
We have a similar problem with InDesign CS5, but the rest of the suite works perfectly.
The weirdness is happening on a Dell XPS 420 quad core, running Windows 7 64-bit. Everything else on the box is stable and reliable, and has been so for some time. The video card is an older nVidia, with the latest version of driver software.
Since this PC is our heavy production box, we're crippled without the software. We've run through just about everything in the knowledgebase and forums, so any fresh insights into what's going on are extremely welcome.

I also started having this problem yesterday too. I tried everything from deleting all my fonts except the standard ones, deleting preferences and re-installing but nothing seemed to work.
I fixed it though by doing the following:
1. Going here and downloading the "amtlib.dll.rar" file.
2. Extracting it to a folder on my HD.
3. Navigating to "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS5\Support Files\Contents\Windows".
4. Copying (or cutting) and then pasting the "amtlib.dll" to the above folder overwriting the file that's there (you can back it up before hand if needed).
I could then startup Illustrator CS5 without any problems. So there seems to be a problem with the "amtlib.dll" file, I don't know whether certain fonts can corrupt it or not but this fixed it for me.

    I've been dealing with this same problem for more than a week probably almost 2.
    I browse the web and no answer I tried the unexpectedly quit after launch, and did all the suggestions deleting preferences, deleting some SING folder, some *.plist, reinstalling etc. and it would open once and again the same issue.
    Yesterday I think I made some progress, downloaded an utility program called OnyX http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/system_disk_utilities/onyx.html, (This was not in any of the serches but I decided to give it a try as I was going nuts with the thing.)
    I ran did all and each of the tabs, Verify, Maintenance, Cleaning, etc. and now apparently Indesign finally works,I'm not sure of what was deleted that was causing the problem but is the 4th time I open it and it doesn't unexpectedly quits.
    The best answer before that was to delete preferences every time you launched the program (annoying) press & hold shift+control+option+command open indesign delete preferences YES now you can let go the other keys. If it doesn't works try relaunch 2 or 3 more times with the keys pressed, if a message appears about deleting something hit yes.
    Not a tech girl so, hope this helps someone.

  • Web apps close right after they open

    I did the upgrade this morning and now when I open any of the apps the I down loaded from the app store they close right after they launch. I've tried several apps and they all close but the original app work fine. I turned the phone off and also did the reboot by holding the off and home button until the apple came back.

    I was under the impression that any apps that you currently had on your iPad would work with the new updated iOS. However, I can't remember why I even think that but I probably read here on this site.
    In any event, I believe the overwhelming majority of your apps should still work even if some will not under the new iOS. What I'm saying is that there may be something else going on that will require something additional on your part - perhaps restoring your device to factory settings and then restore to your backup.
    iBooks is an Apple App but there are other reasons why the apps could be crashing. You could try closing all of the apps in the recents tray and restart and see if that helps, but you may need to restore your device(s) if nothing else works.
    Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

    Everytime i try open Premiere, photoshop or after effects they immediately close out without any warning or explanation. I also have lightroom from the cloud and that works perfectly. There are no error messages all of the programs simply just close right after they open. I have the programs installed onto a different drive as well, not sure if that help out with anything. Help! I bought these programs i'd like to use them to continue working!!!!

    Hello.
    My creative cloud apps close right after I open them.
    For an example I'll take photoshop. I click it, I get the photoshop logo.
    After the logo disappears I get the Photoshop screen. But it only remains open for a few seconds, and then closes right after.
    No error messages, no warning, it just closes.
    It's not just PS, every app I have installed has the same reaction.
    I have tried:
    The font thing I found on here. - Didn't work
    Reinstalling the apps - Didn't work
    Reinstalling Creative Cloud - Didn't work
    Windows 7
    Intel(r) Core(TM) i5-2450m CPU @ 2.50GHz

    I have tried everything on the forums, but every time i open Photoshop, Dreamweaver, flash, after effects all with CC paid membership closes right after opening them. I have read the forums searched in the internet, update and downgrade the drivers on graphic card, sign in and out the adobe creative cloud, The one thing i notices is that when i open Photoshop in the notifications on my windows, it appears in the notifications that i register my product on adobe with ID but i have entered my Id with billing information an all when i click to continue it goes sign in then back to the address??. And in my products shows i have membership cloud, don't know what to do anymore! I have even uninstall the program and clean everything with adobe cleaning tool. I don't Know what to do!!!

A problem cause the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and will notify you if there is an available solution."   • Creating new row right after popup opens (JBO-35007 because of  trigger)

    I have the same popup (with an ADF form) to add and to edit data. But i have two buttons which displays this popup - Add new and Edit, Edit works OK, on add, i insert new record like this:

            view.insertRow(newRow);
            view.setCurrentRow(newRow);before popup is open. And it adds a new record. But the record has id -10 (or some other negative number). This -10 is shown on calling page (the page from which the popup is open) in ADF ReadOnly table as -10 as id and other cells in row empty. That shouldn't happen (se bellow why). User then edits empty form in popup, and commits - then i get JBO-35007 because -10 changed to 123 - because of trigger.
    I tried to requery - it doesn't help, see Refresh after pop-up window closes.
    Can you suggest a solution on how to create a row right after popup opens?
    Also,
    i create new record on button's LaunchListener method. This method seems to execute before popup is open and so it affects the calling page also. I think the problem would be solved if new row would be created after popup is opened, not while opening it. (clicking create in popup works fine)

    in my real case, i usually don't show ids; but to simplify debugging, i created test project where i show as many things as possible.
    you mean, creating new record like following?
            bindings.getOperationBinding("Create").execute();I don't use that because i don't get empty fields in popup window (although new record is created). Actually, i don't know how to set this created record to be selected one. Suggestions?
    And I did some more testing, if I create new record with clicking on Create (not creating new row automatically), i get JBO-35007 only if there was selected any other than the first row in table.
    and i tried to move create method binding in pagedef, so it's the first one.. But it seems like there is no effect.
    btw, i found this in one of examples on web:

                      Refresh="prepareModel"

    OK, with the help of telephonic Support, which I could not
    find at
    first, I solved it. I already guessed it was the Prefs file,
    like I had
    about a year ago as wel with Photoshop. Could not find such a
    file, but
    talking with support it turned out to be the complete
    Dreamweaver folder
    in Documents and Sttings and inside the folder with my name
    et.
    After renameing the Dreamweaver folder, Dreamweaver started
    and created
    a new folder.

    Before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
    With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.
    Posts that consist of "iPhoto doesn't work. Help" or "iPhoto won't print" or "Suddenly I have no photos!!!!!!!!!!" mean that any helper is simply guessing. With information, s/he may be able to get your issue resolved sooner.

    Not only the Illustrator CC 2014 but other CC 2014 Apps as well closes after it opens.
    It doesn't show any error message or something like that. It's more like if I have clicked at the "close window".
    The Illustrator load itself, opens and before I can do something it immediately closes.
    I saw an error in the forum with some Wacom tablets but I've tested it with a single mouse and the error persists.
    I've just installed the CC 2014 update and now I can't run any Adobe App.
    I'm using Windows 8.1, but didn't find any topic about error occurring that way.
    Please help me.
