Illustrator CS5 Doesn't Update Preview in .ai files
I have a very simple .ai file created in CS3. I turned a layer off in CS5 and saved the file.
The layer still shows in the preview image in the finder, in the application I'm using to import the graphic, and on output.

It's using the PDF data in the file and so do very likely your other apps, since the AI format itself is proprietary and normally cannot be read outside Adobe apps. As to why the PDF data isn't updated, is an open question - could be a bug, could just be the combination of options you chose. Some more details might shed light on the issue...

Try creating a new account and see if that works. Then at least you'll isolate to some extent where the error lies. Your -108 error is:

code doesn't update when uploading new files to website. I was using an old DW version for a long time then forced to upgrade when I bought my MacBook Pro. Now when I make changes to my pages and link to new files etc on my harddrive, when i upload the pages it won't image because the code still points to harddrive (this did not used to be a problem)... I manually changed the code on the web host site to point to the site and it loaded fine. But now my files on my harddrive also point to the web host files and now don't image on my computer. I never had to worry about this so far and wonder if the new version has a setting I'm supposed to be aware of so that I can design on my hardrive and upload and it knows that the files are being uploaded with it? Ugh hpe this makes sense - I'm NOT a webs designer and the new DW is way more than I use in it's technology.

try this
First:
1. Quit Illustrator.
2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe illustrator CS5 Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.
Then in the same directory as the settings folder there is the com.adobe.illustrator.plist and rash that as well
then go to the Applications Folder and to the Utilities Folder and then to the disk Utility and Repair your permissions restart your computer and see if it is still doing this if so try logging in as a New User and see if it persists if not it might well be a conflict or a font issue. -
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start, cannot find configuration file
Dreamweaver Could not locate the Resource file in the Configuration folder. This file is required to run Dreamweaver. Please reinstall the application.
Dreamweaver CS5 doesn't start due to the error message above.
Found the configuration folder but on my roaming profile on the server, not on C drive.
Note that I installed Dreamweaver on the second partition of the hard disk, not on C drive due to lack of space. Other Adobe CS5 software are running well such as Photoshop and InDesign.
I have tried to delete (after backup) the Configuration folder, as I read on this forum that it should be automatically recreated, but no success. Tried to copy the Configuration folder (in fact the entire Adobe folder) to the user profile on C drive, but no success.
On this PC, no previous version of Dreamweaver has been installed. However, I have used older versions on different computers, and there are in the Adobe folder on my roaming profile traces of CS4 and CS6.
Could you please advise?Not sure which thread you have read on this forum but I suggest read this official document and then see if resolves any lingering problems.

Apple Update doesn't update yet states all files are up to date
I tried running the Apple Software update on my 10.6.6. It runs, bu then it gives me a message that all files are already updated and the only option is to quit. It doesn't update any files.
I tried even going to the direct file link to update Epson drivers. I know there's an updat out there for Epson. My current driver for my R2880 printer is v8.17 and I know that there's an upgrade to 8.37 (I have done this update on another MAC).
I have done other updates before without any issues. I've tried 4-5 times then rebooted my MAC and it still doesn't update. Any help would be appreciated.If SU doesn't show the update, then either you've not selected the Epson printer in the Print & Fax prefPane or it needs to be connected to the machine. BTW, the latest Epson update is at http://support.apple.com/kb/dl900 Download and install it manually.

Downgrade the system.
Of course you could try and fix all user privileges.
Also: do you save to harddisk? You should.
Try and delete preferences.
Did you uninstall, run the Cleaner tool and then reinstall Illustrator after updating the OS? -
Illustrator cs5 won't draw ellipses
My Illustrator cs5 doesn't draw ellipses and rectangles, only perfect circles and squares. Don't know how to disable this... Please HELP!!
You might not see the connection but everything is connected on a computer. All applications share certain directories and one of the is the users Preference Folder and that can get corrupt. How that works is if there is something wrong with the code and it sends a message to the system that when performing this task you have to so do it in this way and if the code on one of these preferences tells the system enter here for instructions and instructions say copy and then sends the system back to illustrator and now the system sees it as if illustrator said copy…well it does jus that it copies even though it might have been a software for controlling the lights in your home.
As far as more than one person doing the same thing, I recall once being on a beta team for a small utility type software which required that you install it without any virus protection or firewall running. There was a tester who felt they could not risk turning off the firewall or the virus protection because of their valuable data.
Of course they had problems installing the application, they could not install it at all. But they did not tell us they had the virus protection or the firewall running
even though we asked several times, and surprisingly so did several other uses, all of course using Windows in this case, and all using the same virus protection and the same firewall and all failing to tell other testers who were trying for two months to assist them to install the application.
This one lead person finally confessed the situation and when told they were wasting everyone times because that was clearly against instruction and it was known it would not install their response was they should not have told us because they knew we would blame them instead of the obvious bug in the software even though hundred other testers had no problem installing the software on the same system by turning off the fire wall and the virus protection.
Of course the testers who told them they were wasting everyone times were all thrown off the testing team and the more than one psycho remained on the team even though they refused to turn off the virus protect. So not only were these users psycho so were the people running the testing program.
That has been my experience.
I'll explain about a different but similar issue that has been resolve in another response -
Pattern file does not function properly in Adobe illustrator CS5
So I learned Adobe Illustrator CS5 (Say 10%). I have these two files which I downloaded from the net. They are patterns files for animals skins.
The first file is named "Animals_skins.ai" and is taken from htthttp://www.adobe.com/uk/web/tips/ill10qtpatt/p:// and can be downloaded from the same page ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/magic/special/illustrator/win/pattern.zip and has 10 Animal Skins patterns. When I

This is my first post in this forum.
Recently I found this shared PDF rendering bug
by both Adobe products: Illustrator CS5 and
Adobe Reader X.
Look at the attached images.
Although these screenshots are from
Adobe Reader X and Nitro PDF Reader,
these shows exactly the rendering differences
between Illustrator Cs5 and Cs4.
The same PDF file opened fine in Illustrator CS4
and 8 different PDF viewers. It does not shows
these square clipping boxes around the words
"La Tormenta".
Why Adobe changed the way its products interpret

Acrobat presets in Illustrator CS5 causing issues
When I created my PDF presets in Illustrator CS5.5., they were working fine until recently. I have files that I save as PDF's in Illustrator CS5.5.1 and either place the files in our templates in Illustrator, or a simple step and repaet of one vector art Ill. file 2 up. The issue is when I view the files in Acrobat X and the files are shifted or the second image of the step file won't show up. If I go back into the master files and do another save as for PDF it shows the CUSTOM setting at the top not my preset, so I select the preset (i made) again and it will work. Is this an Acrobat issue or an Illustrator issue? I reinstalled Illustrator, and deleted my old PDF settings and made new ones and that seemed to help for about 4 hours, and now I'm back to the same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
That's an issue with the shared PDF stuff in newer versions of Acrobat. There's realy no fix for this misbehavior, it's more or less a "hard" compatibility issue.

Illustrator CS5.1 Font Preview fails with OS X Yosemite upgrade
just upgraded to Yosemite and after updating the Java needed to even open Illustrator and Photoshop CS5.1
the Font Preview option in the Character window is completely empty (with the exception of the font you have highlighted) effectively rendering the font preview option useless.
is there a patch in the works?

ITunes 10.6 doesn't update illustrations
Hi everyone, since the last two itunes updates i can´t make any changes to my music in my iphone 4s.
I can´t change details in songs or iTunes doesn't update illustrations.
What i'm doing wrong? I'm not a new apple user so...
any help? ThxYep. I assume I have the same problem and it's kind of ticking me off. I haven't tried deselecting the convert higher bit rate songs option because I have a lot of music... But ever since the latest iTunes update, I have found that trying to get artwork assigned to albums on my iPad or iPhone is nearly impossible.

Guten Abend Community, erst einmal bin ich neu hier und leider auch hier, da ich ein Problem habe welches ich einfach nicht gelöst bekomme.
Ich musste mein System kommplett neu Installieren und habe anschließend Adobe Web Premium 5 Installiert was auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert, anschließend habe ich die Updates durcheführt welches auch fast ohne Probleme läuft qalle anderen Updates wurden Installiert bis auf die in der fehlermeldung. was kann ich da machen damit das nicht mehr auftritt ?
PS: Davor ging das auch problemlos, das System habe ich erst vor 3 Tagen neu Aufgesetzt.

Wenn noch fragen offen sind einfach fragen, ich würde gerne das Problem so schnell wie möglich lösen....Ja wie gesagt es hat davor auch ohne Probleme Funktioniert nur war ich gezwungen das System neu zu Installieren und ab dann konnte ich die da oben genannten Updates nicht mehr Installieren. Ein Mac ist zwar eine schöne Sache kommt aber für mich nie in Frage da ich mein PC als Arbeitsrechner und Gamer Rechner nutze und das meiste läuft halt nicht auf einen Mac und man müsste manche Programme neu Kaufen, das sehe ich überhaupt nicht ein, und meine Anwendungen werden aus Prinzipien nicht für Apple Produkte entwickelt da verdient man kaum etwas... aber das muss jeder für sich entscheiden. An eine neue Version habe ich eventuell nächstes Jahr gedacht aber auch nur die CS6 ob man das brauch ist die Frage da CS 5 genau macht was es soll. Das Modell mit der Adobe Cloud hat zwar denn Vorteil das die Programme Aktuell sind aber man muss Monatlich dafür Zahlen und CS5/CS6 oder älter brauch man nur einmal Kaufen. Darüber hinaus finde ich eh das Adobe so eine richtige S*** ist wenn es um Support ältere Programme geht so zeigt Adobe meiner Meinung nach das Ihre Produkte nichts wert sind zumindest macht es den Anschein. Aber wie gesagt, bin ich hier um Hilfe zu bekommen um das Problem zu lösen ohne ein neue Version zu kaufen, das ist ja bekanntlich die einfachste Lösung, aber wenn Informatiker auch so denken würden dann würde es sehr schlecht aussehen... und als Anmerkung am Rande, es wäre ja nett wenn man mir denn Link dieser Updates zukommen lassen könnte um die Updates Manuell zu Installieren.

Dies kann man in voraus natürlich nicht aber in nachhinein geht das und Software Entwickler denn etwas an Ihre Produkte liegt, machen das nachhinein auch und passen gegebenenfalls Ihr Produkt an.
PS: CS 2 läuft ebenfalls auf einem Windows 8.1 rechner ;-) -

g1Updates can fail due to any number of system issue. They are more prone to failing if you alter the application in any way. On the Macintosh, popular applications such as Monoligual will remove application package contents and therefore cause updates to fail.
The easiest solution is to uninstall Illustrator CS5 using the uninstaller and then reinstall Illustrator CS5, then immediatlly run the 15.0.1 update.

Upgrading to 11.1.1.7; can't log into analytics
