Illustrator CS5 download/install problem

I used the Adobe Licensing sytem to retrieve Adobe Design CS Std5.5 at work. I was able to download and install InDesign, Photoshop, Bridge, etc just fine. But with Illustrator, it would download and create the CD icon but the folder doesn't contain anything to install. There is a PDF read me file and a folder with fonts. No icon to actually install Illustrator like with the others. I've re-downloaded it several times and it is exactly the same. Help!

The software worked on the first day, problems appeared next day. I uninstalled and deleted the exe.file, then redownloaded and reinstalled but same problem persists.
I then downloaded and installed on my PC and everything works.

Illustrator CS5 re-install error: Install.app can't be opened.

Hello everyone,
Has anyone ever seen this error when installing Illustrator CS5 on Mac OS X Lion?
"Install.app" can't be opened. You should eject the disk image.
Things that might be related;
a) I've recently upgraded the hard disk. I restored everything from a TimeMachine backup
b) I had a few strange things happen with illustrator over the last few months. Yesterday I couldn't place .png graphics into a file, so I uninstalled everything and decided to reinstall from scratch.
c) My downloaded source (illustrator_15_1_LS1.dmg) was kept on a network volume. I assumed the error meant it was corrupted so I downloaded the source again from Adobe. I get the same error on the newly downloaded file.
d) Following a suggestion elsewhere in the forums, I tried Disk Utility > Verify Disk on my new hard disk. It found several permission errors which I let it fix. The problem remains.
I'd appreciate any suggestions on how I can solve this.

Short answer: OS X 10.7.4 (or maybe before) introduced an incompatibility between Illustrators install file and Mac OS X.
Updating to OS X 10.7.5 solves this.

it directed me towards Gate Keeper functionality of OS X 10.8 having been enabled in updates in OS X 10.7.4(or earlier, not too sure).
Running `sudo spctl -a Install.app/` gave the result CSSMERR_TP_CERT_REVOKED but the solution posted on stackoverflow of disabling gate keeper didn't work. So I set off to find a way of inspecting the certificate. I didn't find instructions to read the certificate but that did lead me to read the apple site about gate keeper and that although it was introduced as a feature in Mountain Lion (os x 10.8) some features were provided for developers in Lion (10.7).
I thought I'd have to buy and install Mountain Lion but found that I hadn't got the latest Lion update. I downloaded that, installed, restarted and now the installer works fine.

HELP! Photoshop CS5 to CS5 Extended Install PROBLEM!

I had photoshop CS2 and Illustrator CS2 since they came out. I just recently (November of 2011)upgraded to Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5, those installs went OK, I did forget my login info but a call to Adobe got that all figured out.
Now I only "Play" in photoshop and illustrator at home for my own entertainment, and really barely used the CS2, so I am still just a newbie playing around in photoshop and illustrator.
Anyways, after watching a bunch of Photoshop CS5 Videos, I realized that Photoshop had an "Extended" version with 3D I was unaware of. So I wanted the Extended version, I called Adobe and he said I was 37 days out on my Photoshop CS5, so all I could do now was Buy the Extended version or buy the Upgrade Extended version, since my CS2 was already used for the initial photoshop CS5 upgrade. But since I upgraded my Illustrator CS2 to CS5 a week later he said I could Return that if I wanted.
He brought that up in the convo, not I.
So I Bit the Bullet, AGAIN, and bought the Photoshop CS5 Extended Upgrade to Upgrade the Photoshop CS5 I had just upgraded too.
Let me say this, ALL are Legal Copies ALL Legit. (Before someone says anything about that.) CS5 Photoshop and CS5 Illustrator were bought from Amazon, by Amazon Not one of there outside sellers, and so was the Photoshop CS5 Extended Upgrade.
My Problem is, I cannot Install the Photoshop CS5 Extended? As I am installing it asks for the code, I type it in, then if has two photoshop things listed, one 64 bit and one 32 I believe. But also above them says "Already Installed" with a >! in a white dot. Hovering my mouse over it it says "If you select any of the below to install again it will be installed it the current file location."
I go through the Install and I still have the Regular Photoshop CS5 NOT the Extended Version???
Box and top of the DVD says Photoshop CS5 Extended on them. But the offered install files that are offered on it that say "Already Installed" above them in the installer , Neither one says anything about Extended just ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS5.1 ??
I went to Adobe and talked to a live chat guy but after he took my email and ALL of my serial #'s for ALL of my Photoshop products, had me try installing it again, and then just said I had to Call Adobe Tech. (That was Useless, they should just CLOSE the live chat thing if they can't do anything.)
Anyways, with NO Photoshop CS5 Extended getting installed on my PC Win7 64 bit I3 cpu with 8 gigs of ram, my Adobe Account on my "View Product Registration" Page it now Lists the serial # and info as of 1-1-2012 as having Registered my Photoshop Extended Version 12.0 with all my other registered Adobe software.
So HOW can I get the Extended to actually Install? I Opened the files on the DVD and really don't see anything that even says Extended on any?
I had Amazon OVERNIGHT this Photoshop CS5 Extended Upgrade to me so I could as Bert Monroy says, "Play, just Play it's the best way to Learn Photoshop." over the new years weekend, now I sit here frustrated instead.
Maybe I will email him, maybe he knows what to do, he has always replied to my emails and has Signed my Photoshop books authored by him. (Nice guy very helpful.)

In Help I clicked Deactivate and then see a pop up box with 2 choices, Suspend Activation or Deactivate Permanently.
I hit the Cancel button at the bottom for now.
If this don't work I will Call Adobe on Monday and hopefully get it all worked out, or I will be packing up Both CS5 Upgrades I just bought and send them both back to Amazon for a full Refund.
This should NOT be such a P.I.T.A. just because a few kids hack and use photoshop without actually paying for it.
I am 50 years old BTW, and Paid for my Legit copys, but I gotta jump through Hoops as punishment for a few who don't pay.
Myleniums answer sure sounds like a big pain in the a** to go through and I'd just Return the CS5 stuff, Including the CS5 Illustrator I just upgraded as well. As a Amazon Prime Member they will take it all back and refund me my cash.
As a rare user, just for myself at home, I only Upgraded because I knew Adobe only allowed you to get 3 versions behind before you had to rebuy the full install software all over again so I waited until I thought it was getting close to CS6 coming out and I would Not be able to upgrade at the upgrade pricing. And the CS6 Licensing I read about coming up does NOT appeal to me.
So CS2 or CS5 will be it for me and Adobe. As a Hobbiest I cant afford to do upgrades for each new version. /i heard starting with CS6 you will be Required to upgrade when the very next one comes out, not able to skip a version. Or even some silly monthly fee type thing, Never will I pay a Monthly fee for software use.

Illustrator CS5 stroke weight problem

Hi,
I have a problem with my new illustrator cs5. So for example, if I make a box and I want to change the stroke weight to .25 (anything less than 1) it keeps changing back to 1pt, and I cannot reduce the size of the weight. I tried to reinstall it and the problem still there. What should I do? or how to reset all the setting to the original setting? I'm so frustrated right now.

Download / Install problem.

To start with When installing and running creative cloud. After signing in to my account, i never got the EULA to appear.
The program opened, but the home tab never shows anything but a loading icon (circle of dots rotating)
I eventually get the apps tab to show the apps. I can even click to download.
I'm having issues getting any program to download / install on creative cloud. I don't get any errors or any sort of pop up indicating a problem.
What I am getting is through the process to random points, the "%" turns to "extracting" Then nothing more. It just hangs there forever, never doing anything else. on the right side where the download progress bar is, it just says waiting. It does this for all programs i try.
I'm in dire need of getting this problem resolved. I need the software for my classes. Which started today. Any help at all would be awesome. Thank you in advance.

CS5.5 Install Problem.

Have CS5.5 Design Premium. Installing is no problem. But after ist some of the chosen programs are installed correctly, for some there is only a folder, but no program.
This is not solvable by reinstalling components.
Its a mac. OS is latest.
Any ideas?

I too am trying to install Adobe Audition CS5.5 on a Win7 64bit box but cannot get past the "installer failed please download Adobe Support Advisor which is course is no longer available. And from the looks of the date on you request for help, there is none forthcoming for you and me both. So much for support and purchasing any other Adobe products. They obviously don't need us small guys do they?

Photoshop download install problems

Hello all,
I bought photoshop off of amazon.com (the download-able version) and when trying to install it I get this message:
"Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this application is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."
Any suggestions?

Back in February I bought CS5 -- and received a download link the computer I had it on has completely lost usage. I am wondering how I can install CS5 so I can get back to my editing ASAP. I saved all of the information I got from my purchase.

Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit SP1 download/install problems

Hi all,
Bought a brand new laptop from an electronics store in Nov. 2010 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit pre-installed.
All is well with being notified of all avail. MS updates and I am fully patched with all of them....except SP1. I have never been notified that sp1 was available to download and install.
I have tried everything.
Checked "winver" and no sp1 is not installed
Downloaded SP1 from MS website which requires validation (passed validation of course) and tried running sp1 from desktop and get error "Directory name is invalid"
Turned off A/V and Firewall ran again and same result. Burned and .iso of sp1 ran it, same result.
Ran in safe mode..same thing
Ran MS troubleshooter and updates are fine
I have KB976902 installed
Windows Update KB2454826 is installed
Reset windows updates
All drivers are current
ran sfc/SCANNOW no errors found.
Only language pack installed is English
Pls help

After effects cs5.5 install problems

I am experiencing 'error(-1)' when installing a trial version of after effects cs5.5, any help?
The install does not start, it says it is calculating the time and then says I experienced errors and displays the above error message.
I am running on a mac, if that makes any difference

I have tried to install the Adobe Photoshop CS5 trial, but it always comes up with this error, and says Photoshop failed to install, even after reaching 100%.

It's not possible, so forget about it. As for the rest - reinstall Service Pack 3 and possibly other components like the MSInstaller runtime, .NET runtimes or even MS visual Studio 2010 Express. You have something with your DLLs being wrong and hence the installer is messing up operating system detection. Additioanlly, apply any AMD-specific patches and update all your drivers, this is also critical.

I canot complete the installation of Lightroom.

Cs5 iMac Install Problems

G'morning all,
I recently had a major PC meltdown, and instead of going back to PC, I purchased an iMac. I had purchased Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3 and Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended and had them both installed on my PC, that recently crashed.
I have been able to successfully install Lightroom on the iMac, but I'm unable to install Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended. I install the Akamai installer, and then nothing else happens. Does it matter that near the serial number on my order it reads:
Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended
Windows, English
I thought the license would be good regardless of the OS.
Can anyone please assist me? I really don't want to purchase anymore software, as I've already spent so much money after my PC crashed.

You will have to find someone familiar with the emulation software to answer as to whether or not the application performance will be the same.
As far as the Cloud goes you might try asking that question in the Cloud forum (Adobe Creative Cloud)... You have to look at the Cloud relative to your circumstances - do you use the software frequently enough such that it is worth added investment? do you want to afford to have software that you pay for continuously? do you have a long term need? do you need to remain on the cutting edge of application features?
I know you said you do not want to spend more money, but for the sake of options o consider... CS6 is still being sold and you could purchase that for the Mac instead at an upgrade price since you have CS5.
