Completing Solution 1 in Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-download-assistant.html#main_Solutio n_1 will allow you to cancel out the download.
It is up to you if you wish to employ security software or not on your Macintosh computer.  If you don't have anything but the built in utilities available then you will want to also remove the Adobe Download Assistant prior to reinitiating your download.  If you continue to have difficulties then you will want to look at your network setup itself to see what might be blocking the connection.

  • I bought illustrator and the cloud won't download? Please help!!!

I have an iMac OS X and just bought the months usage for illustrator. When I go to download the software however, it makes me download Creative Cloud first but it won't do anything past the creative cloud installer load-up.
It will load up to the end and then nothing! Nothing pops up, and I still don't have Creative Cloud anywhere on my desktop.
I'm very confused and really need this program ASAP. Is there anyway I can skip the whole Creative cloud setup and just get this program right onto my computer?
    Thank you!

Yosemite sometimes has problems, often related to "default" permissions needing to be changed

  • Illustrator CS5 .ai files won't open

Everything is working fine with opening .psd files in photoshop.  Everything was fine a few days ago opening .ai files with Illustrator.  Now I can't open any .ai files most of the time.  My computer will start up Illustrator but no file will load.  Occasionally,  the files I tried to open will all open and load at once after a reboot.  But after the reboot, the files will not open again.  I uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled, however, this has not fixed the problem.  I'm also having trouble exiting out of Illustrator, it won't let me close the program at times. I'm using a Macbook Pro with the Lion OS.  Any ideas of what to do?

On my Windows Box, I re-deleted my prefs (out of curiosity) zipped the old prefs, then deleted the files (in case I needed to restore something). When I reopened Illustrator, I opened my first file (no problem). Then my second this time, rather than nothing happening, I received an AppCrash error for BIB.DLL shortly after the message (can't open illustration). I close AI, then open the file that gave me the "can't open illustration" error. After a little research for the BIB.DLL it looks like it might be a corrupt font. This is something different from any Mac problem because of the different ways the two systems handle fonts.
On the Mac if I were running into the same error it would more than likely be something related to permissions if it started happening on its own or a corrupt typeface. If your printer driver was corrupted, then maybe there is an underlying hardware issue (drive about to fail) or software issue (corrupt driver, OS, etc). Disk Utility repair permissions doesn't fix everything. You might want to run an app like Onyx or something that will go over your permissions in greater detail (Disk Warrior perhaps).
If that doesn't work I would one-by-one remove different settings, remove all non-essential fonts, and go forward to see what's causing the issue. If a reinstall didn't fix it, then it's something not removed by the reinstall like a pref, a fontlst, or a corrupt typeface.
Prefs on the Mac can reside in more than one location. There is a good reference on here:

  • CS5 Plug-ins won't download

Trying to fix the lack of a Twain connection to scanner, I have tried for 4 days to download the Plug-ins fix.  The little clock just keeps rotating and nothing happens.  Help!

I am using Windows7 64-bit, Photoshop CS5, trying to establish a Twain connection with Epson 4490 PHOTO scanner (twain was available with CS4). I have a new loaded DELL Studio computer.   When I asked for help from Adobe, I was directed to the Plug-ins and sent to a "Download" . For a few days I have done this and when I click on Download, the clock starts but nothing else.
I think all I need is a way to download that file(s).   This version of Photoshop also wont recognize the colour profile i use with my DELL monitor, evebn though CS4 had no problems with it.  Oh well ....
Any suggestions will be gratefully received.  Thanks for your response.

  • Free apps won't download

Some apps show as "+free" but are greyed out so we cannot choose them to install.   We have the latest OS. Is there something else preventing the install?

If it keeps asking for you to verify, sounds like you have an Unpaid balance on your account. I would contct itunes support or applecare so see how much that is. With an unpaid balance, you will need to use another CC or an itunes gift card to pay it then you can use the regular CC

  • Failed Download of Illustrator CS5 trial

Each time I attempt to download the Illustrator CS5 trial, it begins to download for a few seconds then says to restart the download. Not sure what is wrong, have tried everything listed in the common problems page.
    Any ideas?

Not really for the simple fact that you didn't provide any meaningful info. You know, those unimportant things with operating system, browser, where to save to and so on....

  • Where is the download link for illustrator cs5?

Since I CANNOT get the 'live-trace' feature to work in illustrator cs6, i need to download the old version on my new ultrabook (no dvd tray). And cannot find the link for cs5 downloads anywhere - all the old links go direct to cs6 products. I have purchased and have a product key for cs5 and cs6 suites.
Yes, I know live-trace got rewritten in cs6, but it simply will not work right. I've wasted hours. And am on deadline. I just need cs5.  thanks. Where is it??

Thank you! Yes, that worked. For others reading this later on, you have to be super careful to ensure the cookies 'lineup'. Or it won't download. Just having your adobe account open in another tab doesn't work. Follow the steps like a 'cake recipe'. Oh, and I'd purchased the standard edition for CS5, and needed to download the whole thing to recognize my serial number. Couldn't download just a single application. Thanks for your patience.

  • Need to download Illustrator CS5.1 to reinstall

We bought Illustrator CS5.1 from adobe years ago and have a valid SN. Now replacing the workstation it is installed on. The USB stick used to backup the install files gets to the point of "installation progress" and please insert the disk to continue. It seems not to recognize the install files (1.68GB) on the USB drive. The new computer does not have a DVD drive.  l logged into my account on the adobe store, but it does not show my purchased product. How can I download the CS5.1 ver. again?

http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html should help you download the setup file. Please ensure you follow the very important instructons mentioned on this page before you start downloading.

  • Illustrator CS5 just won't stay open

I have looked all over the forums and elsewhere to find a solution to this, but so far, I haven't been able to resolve it. I noticed many other people have had this problem, and it was resolved in many ways, but none of those ways worked for me. This is the trial downloaded from adobe.
    My info:
    Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-bit
    4 gb ram
    AMD athlon IIX2 Processor
Both Photoshop and Illustrator load and run very fast on my laptop, so performance really isn't an issue.  I've never had this problem with photoshop.
Illustrator cs5 worked fine since last night. After working on a file, I restarted and Illustrator loads and opens, but doesn't stay open. It closes about 3-5 seconds after it opens, so I can only assume it crashed without any error message.
The starting logo never completely loads all of the font list. It usually gets to about 80% and then opens and closes automatically.
    So far, i've tried:
uninstalling illustrator and reinstalling it -- did this 3 times
using the cleaning tool to completely remove cs5 and reinstall it
    deleting the illustrator profile
temporarily removing the fonts in C:/Windows/Fonts ... some fonts could not be moved due to the fact they were in use/system fonts
updating illustrator CS5 to "fix" the bugs ... it doesn't seem to improve anything
Looking in the event viewer for errors, I found this:
Faulting application name: Illustrator.exe, version: 15.0.1.399, time stamp: 0x4c57c1d9
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x6ec08639

    Faulting module path: unknown
    Report Id: 7b1d928a-dfd0-11df-ab15-705ab6e1e86d
not sure if any of that has to do with why it crashes.
nothing worked. The strange thing is, if I open an .EPS or .AI file with illustrator, illustrator will stay open as long as my mouse is over a context menu. If i'm quick enough, I can open .EPS files in illustrator and then save them as .AI files, but as soon as I close the menu, illustrator quits.
So, this is incredibly fustrating. I have to do a vector project in illustrator and obviously can't ... i've been quite desperate in trying to find other vector programs, but i'd rather not need to learn a new program when I can use one I already have.
Does anyone know how to fix illustrator and keep it open?   how do I temporarily remove all the fonts from illustrator? I am assuming that because it never completely loads the font list at startup, its a font issue. But I haven't installed or modified any new fonts lately.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I did as you suggested and removed my prefererences and workspaces. It still closes.
Also, I do not use adobe acrobat, it isn't installed on my computer. I have no issues hovering over the menus in AI -- hovering over the menus and opening them is the only thing that keeps AI open. As soon as I take my mouse off the menu, AI closes.
The only way to keep AI open is to interact with the menus. Any dialog box keeps it open. As soon as you close the menu or dialog, AI closes as well.
