Illustrator CS5 installation problem

I am trying to install CS 5 upgrade. I could install Indesign and Photoshop without any problem, but I could not install Illustrator. The error massage that I am getting is as follows:

You are simply running out of disk space. Free up drive space.

PDF created in Illustrator CS5 causing problems in InDesign CS5

I have created a wallpaper / background in Illustrator CS5 that measures 646mm x 303mm (it's for an A4 folder cover) is in CMYK colour mode and is made up of only 2 layers. Layer 1 is 3 rectangles - 1 the size of the page and 2 that are 50% of the full page. They are all filled in with a gradient. Layer 2 is 2 x waves made up os 2 lines then "Object", "Blend", "Specified Steps - 20", "Make". This is the extent of the graphics on this page. I have then saved it as a PDF (Illustrator Default) and it's size is 518k - pretty reasonable size.
Here's my problem - When I place the PDF in InDesign as the background for my folder it is slowing all my processes down is I put my view to "High Quality". I can move, resize, type or place anything without the program crashing or a monumental delay in whatever it is that I am trying to do. Printing is also taking an excessive amount of time when I try to print off the PDF (created from the InDesign file and being all of 1.2MB).
Also - the illustrator document has now crashed once.
Other things that might be useful to know is that I am running on Windows XP, Office 2010, 32 bit, and have the whole CS5 package.
I can't think of any other information to give.
Do you think there is a system problem? File issue? Any advice would be FANTASTIC.

That's an issue with the shared PDF stuff in newer versions of Acrobat. There's realy no fix for this misbehavior, it's more or less a "hard" compatibility issue.

Adobe Illustrator CS5 groups problem.

I work under windows xp using Adobe Illustrator CS5, and the problem is that when I group a certain objects in an illustration and save that illustration as an *.ai file, then send it to a client that uses MAC the groups are getting jumbled up. The client even sent me a screenshots, and the groups are REALLY jumbled up.
Some objects that i originally grouped together are not in the same group any more, some objects from a certain group that, somehow became part of some other group.
I build my images on one layer with several sublayers.
Can building illustrations with every single group on a separate layer solve this problem? Am I missing something? This is the first time I encounter this kind of problem. Please help.

I don't ever recall this occurring but it sounds like a corruption to me. But I do not know if is on your end or your clients end.
I use a mac and am will to open your file and send you screen shots so you can compare, if I open it fine then the problem is probably with your client?
But they might not like to here this.
You can also try sending them a pdf or a .ps file they can open the .ps file directly in AI without distilling it.

Adobe illustrator cs5 installation

i just purchase adobe illustrator cs5 via subscription download. I have a mac... system is asking for the cd to install. I have none. Supposed to be a web download installation. help!!

Is it prompting for the DVD during the install process? Have you tried downloading the software again? You can also install the Illustrator trial and initiate your subscription during the install process as well.

Need help with illustrator CS5 updates problem

Hi guys.....this my first time on a forum and hope someone can help. I am using Adobe CS5 on windows vista.
When there is upcoming updates in Application Manager for Illustrator CS5 in the beginning, I face no problem untill now.
If you asking me, does the other CS5 applications updates works? yes it does. Does anyone have any idea what cause this problem?
I have spent some considerable time trying to figure out what the issue is but i have no idea. Hope someone can help.

Had you installed HTML5 pack after having installed Illustrator ? If yes then can you go back to the original state and try to apply the patch again.

Illustrator CS5 Instalation Problem on Mac OSX 10.5.8

I have tried instaling this software multiple times and am getting errors in the program that reinstalling doesn't seem to fix.
Here are the errors I'm getting:
When opening a new document, I get the error: "Can't locate the Startup Profiles. Please try after installing Illustrator again. Illustrator will now attempt to create a default document"
When quitting Illustrator, I get the error: "The Application Adobe Illustrator CS5 quit unexpectedly after it was relaunched. Mac OSX and other applications are not affected. Click relaunch to launch the application again. Click Report to see more details or to send a report to Apple"
I saved the report in case this is needed.
After browsing user forums, I attempted to reinstall using the following steps:
1) Before attempting any reinstallation, I deleted the folder drive/users/username/library/Preferences/Adobe Illustrator CS5 Settings/
2) Unstalled Illustrator using the uninstaller package that comes with Illustrator.
3) Removed shortcut from menu
4) Reinstalled Software.
Please advise.

After downloading CS5 I ran into multiple permissions errors, this is no exception.
The following folder needs Read & Write access:
Macintosh HD:Users:(Your User Name):Library:Application Support:Adobe:Adobe Illustrator CS5
You can change this access by selecting "Get Info" on this folder, then adjust the Sharing & Permissions options so everyone can Read & Write.
NOTE: This addresses the startup profiles only; crashing on quit is a separate issue.
When you open up Illustrator this time and try to create a new document, Adobe magically creates a "en_US" folder within the Adobe Illustrator CS5 folder that couldn't be added before.

Adobe Illustrator CS5 Language Problem

Hi there, I'm trying to use different languages in Illustrator for text labels but when I paste the Korean/Arabic/other language into the text box it all just appears as a bunch of squares. Can anybody help me make the text appear as it should?

Platform? Oh you mean Operating System, I'm using Windows 7 Professional - 64 bit. I'm able to paste the korean text in with one of the symbol fonts selected from the list but I can't seem to find any options that will accept arabic or punjabi. I tried Adobe Arabic and Traditional Arabic regular (they sound like they should work) but they didn't work and there doesn't seem to be any options written in Arabic. I've tried adding these two languages to my keyboard input through the control panel --> clock, language, and region --> region and location --> keyboards and languages --> change keyboards then adding the languages there and while I can type in those languages in open office word, notepad and online Illustrator refuses to accept the text. I thought that with this being the latest version (CS5) I wouldn't have any problems like this

Adobe Illustrator 10 Installation Problem

Ok so I now own a new Macbook and just tried to install the Adobe Illustrator 10 but it just crashes and fails when I try to install it. I know the disks are fine because I have installed it on my Quicksilver G4 with the Tiger as well, have never had a problem installing till getting this new Macbook.
I get to the part of installing the serial key then it just crashes. As well my G4 does not have the Classic environment either and still installs perfectly.
Any ideas as to why it will not work?

You don't understand my point. If there were no Intel based chip, installation would be fine was what I am getting at. Your both actually correct though, I'm blaming the wrong company, my apologies to Microsoft, the 2 members who posted regarding Microsoft is not at fault are 100% correct. But we will definitely not see a patch from Adobe and since PS7 was a completely new cocoa app but Illustrator was merely ported over, hence the reason PS7 installs perfectly.
But at least the migration wizard does a good job an actually installs Illustrator 10 and it works perfectly.

Photoshop CS5 installation problem

Hi there,
I had PS4 and PS5 co-existing without problems on my system. Finally, I decided yesterday to uninstall PS CS4 since all my plug-ins are now available for CS5. I removed CS4 using CleanMyMac, which unfortunately also uninstalled CS5. No problem, I thought, and reinstalled from my CS5 download - and PS5 won't install! No Photoshop CS5.app on my system! I verified permission, repaired them, had no other programs open during install. I tried three times, three failures, and now I don't know what to do! I have no back up available since I am away on vacation and my back-ups are at home. I need this for x-mas! Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Are any errors being reported or does the installer claim success?
If remaining parts of the old installations should be part of the problem maybe the Cleaner Tool can help.

After Effects CS5 Installation Problem

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit and can't seem to install a trial verion of CS5 After Effects. I have a licensed version of CS5 Design Basic installed. I've followed all of Adobe's troubleshooting tips and Adobe Support Advisor is not detecting any problems. Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated! The error log is as follows:

MagicBulletLooks1.4 for Premiere Pro CS5 Installation Problem:'unauthorized-register or reinstall'

Hi,
I have a problem with installing Magic Bullet Looks 1.4 for Premiere Pro CS5 on my computer. Upon installation, when I launch PrPro, drag and paste 'Looks' video effect on a clip on the timeline I get every time the following message:
'Magic Bullet Looks is unauthorized - please register or reinstall'
The clip over which I apply the Looks effect starts flickering and if I try to open the Looks' 'Edit' in Effects Control it fails and I got the following message: "Unable to create a preview frame for LooksBuilder'
I tried to reinstall the software (as administrator) three times but the outcome was every time the same. I need to add that 'Magic Bullet MisFire' that came with Looks 1.4 installs properly and works just fine.
Have you experienced the same problem? Can you please advise me how to fix it?
Here are my system specs:
Windows 7 (64bit)
Adobe Master Collection CS5 (64bit)
CPU: Intel i7 - 930
12GB RAM
Mobo: Asus P6T
Graphics card: nVidia 250GTS (from MSI) with 1GB DDR3

CS5 - installation problems

Hi Adobe. I am a happy owner of the CS5-Package. Recently I formatted my PC and I've had serious problems installing the programs. I start out installing Adobe Acrobat. That works just fine.
The other discs are the main problem. They won't install. My computer can't even read them. It just thinks until it says "Can't be read" That I do not understand... I need some help here. I've tried a number of applications and online support but the situation hasn't changed...
What do I do? Why can my PC read Adobe Acrobat but not the three remaining discs?

if you have a download problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem, but your browser must also allow cookies so that's (a restrictive browser setting) another potential source of problems.

Illustrator CS5 Netzwerk Problem

Hallo Miteinander,
bin gerade neu hier und hoffe ihr könnt mir helfen.
Habe seit kurzem das Problem das Illustrator gefühlte 40-60 Sekunden braucht um Dateien zu öffnen und zu speichern selbst bei Dateien ohne Inhalt.
Dabei ist egal ob diese Lokal auf dem Mac liegen oder auf dem NAS.
Selbst in der Aktivitätsanzeige wird angezeigt das Illustrator nicht reagiert.
Habe auch schon mal die Settings und die plist gelöscht und PRAM reset durchgeführt kein Erfolg.
Photoshop hat keine Problem bei derselben Datei.
Ich habe dann mal die Netzwerkverbindung getrennt und festegestellt das die Dateien die lokal liegen sofort geöffnet werden die vorher die o.g. Zeit gebraucht haben um zu öffnen.

Master Collection CS5 Installation Problem

Hi Guys
I had a problem half way through installing the MC on my win64bit PC and the result is Fireworks did install properly and appears in the Adobe Master Collection folder (as a blank icon) but FW does not in the program uninstall list. However when I try and install it individually, I get a message saying its already loaded. How do I remove its "ghost" so I can install FW?

You would have to run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool from the support pages and then try this again from scratch. Unfortunately there is no way to just uninstall/ reinstall individual products and personalyl I would always advise against "repair" mode installs without wiping the previous ones, as this may not remove the initial problematic stuff.

Illustrator CS5 Kuler Problems

Hello
I am currently working my way throught the Adobe Classroom in a book for Illustrator, after a few chapters, the book gets you to connect to Kuler via the extensions > Kuler. I then discovered that it would connect to the internet, in fact, even the whole of the CSLive said there was a network problem??
I did log in via the Kuler website and managed to download the preset i needed then tried again while I was actually logged in via the webpage
Can anyone help please?

Well nevermind I resolved it myself. After you mentioned it might've been some other measurement, I watched the tutorial again, and you were right. His measurement was actually in pixels than inches. I misread. And the problem was simple - I checked the "Custom" box and as a result, it greyed out the "Small Gaps" section. I guess I wasn't supposed to check it, because now, I'm able to detect larger gaps. So thanks for the tip, really helped.
