Illustrator CS6 bug

Hello,
Just installed the trial version of the new Illustrator CS6 release and what do I find... some very strange behaviour from the app.
Okay so basically all is well until I try to drag or interact with any object... a wall of gray just shadows the whole area of the screen to the right of the cursour. The gray mass would only dissapear if I pan the artboard or zoom in or out
What the heck is going on?
My system info:
Illustrator CS6 64bit version
Windows 7 64bit
i7 2600k
Nvidia 9 series
16gb RAM

I'm having a similar issue but it's not the wall of gray. I'm getting lines and blocks of gray. Our photographer is getting the same thing on a different computer and chipset. We are both running intel macs. Here's a screenshot. I really really hope they fix this because I just ordered updates for CS6 and would hate to have to use CS5.5.

Stroke Bug Illustrator CS6

I contacted Adobe in June 2013 about a problem with the stroke profile items. I was told that there would be an update available and no updates were available. Will this be fixed anytime soon? Is it fixed in CC? In my photo I show the same exact stroke with different profiles applied. I have yet to find any efficient work arounds. Any info would be very helpful. Thanks!

I have all the required recommendations for Illustrator CS6
But regularly Illustrator will not start or it cuts abruptly, the following message appears:
"A problem caused the program has stopped working correctement.Windows will close the program and tell you if a solution is available"
Do you have any recommendation of use to avoid this problem?

Possible bugs in Adobe Illustrator CS6

I'am using Illustrator CS6 on Mac OS 10.6.8 (Italian) a few days but I found some things that just do not go:
The guidelines are not aligned-distributed with the dialog aligns and deploy.
The first time I type Command + P prints directly (no window appears).
On the panel moves, the numbers typed on 'Distance:' do not update the other fields and do not move anything.
Has anyone encountered these problems?

for me, applying align and distribute on guidelines works as expected. And I can't help with the printing issue either, I'm not seeing it on my mac 10.6.8. But for the Distance in the move window, yeah, it's not updating properly. However, if you use the mouse wheel to scrub to the value you want, (or type in the value, then use the mouse wheel or arrow keys to decrease the number, then increase it back to the number you typed) then it updates properly.
With so many bugs in Illustrator CS6, I'm definitely looking forward to a CS6.1 update. We definitely need one soon.

Intermittent Bug when saving pdf files in Illustrator CS6

I save a pdf file in Illustrator CS6 with a specific art board size. When I open it in Acrobat the size is off. When our print's RIP's the file, it is off the same amount. I will re-open it in Illustrator and re-save it and just change the name, the artboard is then correct. This is very intermittent. It has happened on two copies of CS6. Both prograns are current with the updates. I am on a iMac running OS 10.6.8.

I can open up both documents in Illustrator and they are identical.
We have been using these presets for a couple of years without issue. The problem started happening about 3 weeks ago on 2 seperate computers. We have not seen the problem with CS5.5 and earlier.

Console window in illustrator CS6? [bug]

I'm wondering, what this window is all about. This console window keeps flashing and popping up all the time during the work in illustrator CS6.
What does it mean and how can I get rid of it?
This shiny transparent window usually just flashes for a twinkling of an eye but now and then it keeps staying for a while (till the next mouse click). It is not really related to any concrete action, but it only shows up while a new action... this may be opening a file, saving a file, taking another tool... .
And it appears only in Illustrator, f.e. not in Ps or Dw (CS6)
- Mac Pro, 3.7 GHz Quad-Core, 16 GB, AMD FirePro D300,
- running Mavericks OS X 10.9.5
- No special plugins

For those who are confronted with the same problem:
The solution to this was Apples "Dictation and Speech".
It had been turned on by mistake and made some annoying troubles in Illustrator and Photoshop.

See if turning off Dictation solves the issue.
Go to System Preferences ---> Dictation and Speech -----> select OFF radio button .

Illustrator CS6 : CADtools 8 bug avec la mise à l'échelle

Bonjour à tous,
Voilà, j'ai illustrator CS6 et CADtools8. Quand je créé une forme, je rajoute les dimensions souhaitées avec CADtools, jusque là rien d'extraordinaire.
Cependant quand je dois faire un rapport avec cette forme, je la mets à l'échelle, pour que ça rentre dans ma feuille. Seulement, CADtools 8 recalcule les dimensions que j'ai mis. Autrement dit, il est trop intelligent et recalcule toutes les dimensions alors qu'elles doivent rester les mêmes.
Auriez vous une solution ? Ai-je louper quelque chose ?

AE CS6 bug: Can't use any shortcut that includes the C in it

A while ago I started having some issues In Illustrator CS6, where I couldn't copy and paste from one document/application to another, the issue later ported itself to AE and not much after that anything including the C key stopped working. For example I can't copy, pre compose or create a camera using shortcuts.
After a lot of troubleshooting I was able to isolate a preference pane who was causing the Illustrator issue, I removed it and AI went back to normal, I assumed After Effects would be fixed too but unfortunately that's not the case, I still can't use the C key.
I ran Onyx thoroughly, trashed AE's prefs, removed some recently acquired scripts, removed some login items and trashed those prefs also (I read a thread that mentioned those items could be causing odd behaviors).
I carefully compared my setup against my laptop, which also has AE CS6 installed and working perfectly, I have the same scripts, the same preferences and the only login items not installed there are the ones that's are grayed out in my imac, so I can't delete them.
If someone can help with this I'll be very grateful, I'm wasting a lot of time trying to solve this thing and I'm very used to using said shortcuts to increase my workflow.

I quit a few other components, a small utility called Shortcut (isn't that ironic?) and another one called MacAppBlocker,
I still can't pre compose any layers using command-shift-c
I was able to create a camera using command-shift-alt-c, after several tries, sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.
I was being able to copy and paste across different programs and layers all sorts of objects, UNTIL I opened Illustrator and copied a path, then I pasted it into a solid in AE.
The next time I tried to copy something else, my clipboard got stuck with the path from Illustrator, EVEN inside illustrator.

This is an aknowledged bug from Illustrator, but as I have discovered in the past few days it's affecting everything systemwise, what are the possibilities that the only shortcuts that are failing are those that contain the combination of command-c? And like I said, it starts missbehaving right after I copy a path in Illustrator, not before.
Alright, after some further testing, here's what I found:
I removed (completely deleted) from my computer a small piece of software called WD Quickview, right after I was able to precomp and create cameras in AE.
I still have the copy/paste issue from Illustrator, right after I copy a path, the clipboard goes haywire system wide.
The strange thing is that, such program, WD Quickview has been installed on my computer for over a year now and never had any trouble with it, moreover, I'm not entirely sure how am I going to be able to get into the drive that uses that program (WD force-install that thing with their new drives that come with a new unerasable firmware).
Coincidentally, I haven't plug the drive at all this week, so perhaps the program went crazy when it couldn't find the drive?

Pantone search not working in illustrator CS6

Hello everyone - this issue has been a problem for me in Illustrator CS6 for over a year now.
The Pantone Libray in Illustrator CS6 has a search box, but when I type in certain numbers (541 for example) it takes me to 7541. However, if I look around and manually pick the swatch by hovering (which takes forever and is ridiculous) I find it.
The 541 swatch is there but the search function doesn't work for many numbers. This is an incredible waste of time for me and after many updates and putting up with it for a year, I am at the end of my rope.
What solution would you all suggest short of buying yet another version of Illustrator which I find silly since I already shelled out several thousand dollars for this one and I do NOT want to have to buy new software because there's a bug Adobe refuses to patch.

Illustrator CS6 trial displays "unknown error... [CANT]" then, error loading plugins Drop Shadow.aip

Bought new MSI laptop with Windows 8, I7-3630QM, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 675MX, 128GB SSD w/ OS, 750GB HDD Data. Installed both Illustrator CS6 trial X86 and X64. It displayed the above error. Uninstalled, reinstalled both versions X86 and X64 together and separately, once on SSD, then on HDD, same error.
Uninstalled and reinstalled, all C++ 2005, 2008, 2010 and .net, same error. Every time I uninstalled I ran CC Cleaner for all temp files and registry, and removed all Adobe profiles and fonts and any file existing on my computer with the name "Adobe" included in it. Have reinstalled Windows 8 back to factory settings, tried all of the above again, same error.
I have no other Adobe products installed on this laptop, or any other products other than what was installed from the factory. Virus software is Windows Defender only.
I have read all of the discussions that I could find in Adobe Forums and Google Search, tried them all, same error.
So, now what?

You're expecting too much. If you're really looking for Adobe to get involved, report it as a bug and someone might respond:

Other than that ask in the AI forum. You shouldn't keep your hopes up, though. That particular error is not that rare, but so far I haven't seen a clean solution. It's definitely a sloppy programming error where some function in some driver or DLL is called that is not part of a standard Windows install and without those specific components present, it simply fails.

Illustrator CS6 (win7) eyedropper is misbehaving

The eyedropper tool in Illustrator CS6 is causing me great frustration and i'm seriously convinced that it's buggy.
Ordinarily it will select the "Appearance" of a vector, but sometimes (compleatly randomly as far as i can tell) it will start to only sample the direct colour of the pixel under it, this includes the RGB colours of guides, edge-outlines and even the lime-green smart-guide annotations.
What's worse is this strange little bug/setting seems to stay with a file once saved. I've doubble-clicked the eyedropper tool to check what options are selected (all except the top-level appearance checkbox) and they are also the same in a file not displaying this oddity.
I hope I've justed missed some unknown keyboard short-cut or some strange setting.
[We're running CS6 on six Windows7 machines and have experienced this issue on all of them]

Thanks for the reply, you're correct in that it's the exact same function that the shift-key ordinarily performs.
But I doubt it's a driver, it's on six different computers and only on files that have been saved with the issue.

I found another bug in Adobe Illustrator CS6 and CC.
If you are opening a file that contains profile (and not installed in Windows), Illustrator, although I warn you that profile will be used in the document, but the opening is not there. There is only working space profile. CS5 is okay.
On this error we found by accident when we wanted to open the client data in Illustrator and then convert to profile our printer and use the embedded profile as the source.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the application after removing the software from wacom tablet ...
everything seems to be back as before ... no problems

Illustrator CS6 does not save PNGs properly

I have a problem with Illustrator CS6: anytime I try to export file to PNG, it saves a file of exactly 102 kb and the file is essentially empty. Is it a bug in Illustrator, or only I have such problems?

I believ Illustrator works one at least two platforms so it is hhard to say wi9thout knowing your specs.
But on the Mac it is working fine except that one can not export using the option to have a black or other color background if not already part of the file.
Other than that it is working as expected.
So I would say you have either a conflict or a corruption.
If a corruption then try this
PC
1. Quit Illustrator.
2. Rename the AIPrefs file (for example, to AIPrefs.old) in the Users/(user)/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CS# Settings folder.
3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.
Mac
1. Quit Illustrator.
2.Go to User/username/Library/Preferences/ Adobe illustrator CS# Settings and trash the settings folder, the whole folder not just the contents of the folder..
3. Start Illustrator. Illustrator creates a new preferences file.

Why are certain fonts showing up in Japanese in Illustrator CS6

In Illustrator CS5, I would use a font called Kozuka Mincho Pro/EL. Illustrator's font selector would show the font with the English name. I'm on a Mac running 10.7.4 and Font Book shows me the font with the English name as well. After upgrading to CS6, the font name in Illustrator is being displayed in Japanese. Unfortunately, I don't read Japanese. Is there some way to correct this on my end or is there a bug in Illustrator CS6?

If you acess Illustrator > Preferences > Type section there´s a field you can enable called Show font names in English.
If you enable this option...does the Kozuka font continue to be showed in japanese?
