Illustrator CS6 Corrupts Files

Hello Support,
Can anyone tell me anyone is experiencing an issue saving a file
to Windows server and getting a corrupt file?
We are also getting messages on the file saying resources are not avilable.
We might note we just upgraded to CS6 illustrator

Richard,
I believe others may present some suggestions here, including staff.
You may also try having a chat Customer Care (tick I Still Need Help and hope for an agent available for a chat),

  • White Wall - Photoshop CS6 corrupted files won't zoom

So my Photoshop CS6 is slowly corrupting files. I open psds to find nothing but a giant whit wall. I zoom out and the white disappears but then I can't zoom in any further than 50%. My rulers however, show that I'm zooming in. Then when I select another layer... it snaps to % I should be looking at. (Also... this particular file won't give me a preview in the icon on my desktop. Related?) This is not happening with all my files. Just the ones surrounding this particular project. Please. Help. Me.

    Welcome to the forum.
With display issues, the first thing that I recommend is to check the installed video driver, and if it is not the latest, update that from the mfgr's Web site.
    What OS are you running?
What video card (make & model) is installed?
What is the video driver version?
Is that the latest on the AMD/ATI, or nVidia Web site?
Good luck, and if that does not help, at least we will have gotten that out of the way early.

  • Illustrator cs6 "this file cannot be found" problem when open file from network

I used to install the trial version of Illustrator CC on my desktop and then when the trial run out I decide to go with illustrator CS6 instead, So I decide to buy &
install Illustrator CS6 on our desktop and everything seem to be fine except
the problem is our .ai file is located on the network shared drive of the design team,
When we try to open the file from the network drive with illustrator CS6, it said "This file cannot be found"
    - we try to copy the file from network drive to our desktop and file can open without problem
    - if we directly double click the file from the network drive to launch the illustrator CS6 with that file. It's also fine, no problem at all.
    - but if we open the illustrator CS6 first and try open.. and then browse to that file on network, then "This file cannot be found" happen again.
    - Illustrator CS6 have no problem open file in the local harddisk.
    - Illustrator CC never have this problem open file in our network drive, try reinstall the Illustrator CC trial again and it can open without problem
    - I try using Adobe CC Cleaner tool to remove everything before reinstall the Illustrator CS6, still no luck.
    - Try remove the Adobe relate folder in user/user/Appdata and then reinstall, still no luck
    - Try right click and open with --> Illustrator CS6 , yes if we double click the file directly it's ok, but as mentioned if we open illustrator first then browse for the file, the problem happen.
Did I miss anything to fix it ?

the same thing happend to me,
in my office the same folder with hebrew name, I can open files
on my laptop the same folder with hebrew name, I cannot open files.
I know its about the folder because when I put the files in a different folder, it open them.
how can I fix it without changing the names of my entire work folders?

  • Cs6 corrupt files

Why do my cs6 psd files keep getting corrupt? I am able to save and close them, but they won't reopen. I've lost entire website files more than once already. Please, can anyone help?!?!

This is the boilerplate text I use in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported. See:      http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/322391.html      Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.      If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own.
If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.     When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • Convertion illustrator CS6 .ai file to Microsoft office

i have designed a invoice in illustrator cs6 , i want to save it as .doc for Microsoft word so my clients can edit all invoice blank fields and send to their clients, please let me know how to do it.

You did not waste all your time, as you can utilize the design, just recreaet the fields.
Save a copy of your illustrator file with all input fields deleted
    Save a copy as .pdf
Word >> Insert Picture >> insert
Right click on picture >> format picture >> Layout >> Behind Text
Move picture into place, pull the margins blue arrows if you need to go closer to edge
3rd icon in table palette >> Draw tables where you wnat text inputs
Not sure what verison of word you have, but this is from word 2008 mac. Sorry my MS Word is not that great, but these instrucitons should be in the ballpark of what you need.

  • Flash CS6 Corrupts Files Since I Installed CC

    Hi there everyone,
I'm having a problem I hope we can get to the bottom of as I am an independent professional working with Flash to make advertisements.
My timelines are always very tight but something new has been happening and it's happened with After Effects as well, and quite frankly this NEEDS TO STOP RIGHT NOW.  There is no time to always remake a file because it won't open.
My business is based on replicating files after one is created however since installing CC (which is now CC 2014) my Adobe programs have been giving me hell.  At random certain files are corrupted and are not letting me back into them.  This has happened both in Flash and After Effects, I am here about Flash today.
There is no error code and there is no more information other than "An error occurred opening "file path".
This as I said has ONLY STARTED SINCE I'VE INSTALLED CC and BEYOND.  IT HAS TO STOP AND I NEED A SOLUTION PLEASE.  I've rebuilt files over and over assuming it was me and my fault, but once After Effects started doing it to me I realized it's ADOBE and not me or my setup.
Obviously there is no way to troubleshoot an error of this kind as there isn't a code or anything.  I've first assumed it was a component I had in Flash, it's not because as I said After Effects is doing it to me also.  Also that component is essential to doing my work and cannot be removed, alternately I've used this component PLENTY before CC came out, this never happened once.  Second I assumed my HD was failing, it's not plenty of other work all over the HD doesn't do this in other applications (including and ESPECIALLY  NON ADOBE applications).  I am at a total loss.
I am also however a BIG proponent of the CC concept, but it's starting to appear to me that something different must be happening in this deployment of software because as a user of Adoobe Photoshop since version 3 and Flash since it was "MACROMEDIA" FLASH 3...this has never happened before, even as a CS6 user it never happened until I installed CC, and I don't USE Flash CC because my clients need CS6.  This issue also has never happened regardless of OS either Mac or PC.
What did you do differently Adobe, why do my files just die?  Does anyone else have this problem?
Please Please Please help, I cannot keep rebuilding files that die on me, when you're replicating you do "Save As" a lot, and if my "master" dies then there is no save as it's "start over".  I've done this 6-8 times already, I need a resolution.
    Windows 7 Ultimate
    Dual Xeon 8 Core
    40 GB Ram
    512 SSD
...more than enough for a program like Flash.

Apologies it also seems impossible to find a different section to post in about this.

  • Illustrator CS6 jpeg file saved looks distorted when uploaded onto internet

I am helping  a pal of mine on illustrator and I have little knowledge so Im asking here. They made a simple type and shape design with a solid backdrop. When I tried to export via save for web to jpeg with high settings, it came up online with subtle but visible alterations. Behind my shapes are speckled like dust, it looks super low quality.
I'm not sure what info would help solve this, but maybe someone else has made an oopsie and can tell me how to fix it. I tried using ps to save instead, I even tried removing the backdrop and remaking a whole new document and just moving select items over, then recoloring..which was not the best attempt but same result.
I'm not exactly sure what her color settings should be to avoid this. Im working at 6500 x 6500 right now.
Here's a visual of the up close issue.
All over its less quality. And Im saving at top jpeg settings in RGB
I really don't want to tell her she has to begin all over again, thanks in advance for help.
Oh, on her pc there is no distortion. It's just online where it becomes crazy.

Are you sure she can't take gif? It can be rgb, and for this style of art, it will look better than jpeg. This is a quick recreation of your file section, as a medium-low quality gif.

  • Illustrator CS6 deleting random file items

Hi there. Both myself and the other designer at my office have run into a pretty major problem with Illustrator and we are hoping someone here might be able to get to the bottom of it. First of all, some details as to what we are working on:
    Mac OSX 10.6.8
    Illustrator CS6
Accessing files on a shared network drive
I have been working on a file for a number of months now with no problems at all. Right at the point of it being signed off today I opened it to prep for printing (outline fonts, check colours etc.). When I opened it I noticed a number of the graphics (embedded graphics, not linked files) and areas of text were missing. Completely missing. No text boxes, no sign of any images having been there, just GONE. I closed the file without saving and opened it in CS5 - neither the graphics or the text appeared in CS5 either.
Nobody except myself and the other guy has access to these files (nor the softare to open them). The file has not been opened since June 6th when I last made a change (and everything was fine!).
This is not the only file we have discovered this problem with - there was another occurence of this with a completely different file yesterday which we put down to a small glitch, but this is now getting worrying. Yesterday it was graph items, so we thought it was something to do with those. Today it is bog standard graphics and text (no font issues either).
Now, I have also noticed something else with this particular file - it is acting more like an imported PDF than an original Illy file in that items are linked together (un-linked by right-clicking and selecting 'release clipping mask'). I don't know if this could be related? It was definitely created from scratch in Illustrator, and none of the items were linked in such way, or imported from another file.
Has anyone ever come across this issue before?

Ok, well, luckily for us I.T could dig through the backup and get us a version of the file from before it became corrupt, and not a lot of work had been done on it since it was last 'ok' so that's saved us.
I don't however think it is pure luck that we have never in 8 years had ANY issues with working from a shared server, it is FAR too much of a coincidence that we have not long upgraded to CS6 and we are starting to see more and more problems like this. I think it can definitely be attributed to the CS6 release in part - there is a problem here, and whilst I understand that they cannot test for every server configuration you would think in time things would get better, not worse

  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 has stopped working on Windows 7

I've seen a few posts about this and I stall haven't seen it stop or a fix that works.
I use Illustrator any length of time (up and running just a few minutes till up for weeks on end) and as soon as I quit (either by File -> Exit, the X in the corner or Alt -> F4) it closes panels and after a bit pops up that "Adobe Illustrator CS6 has stoppped working.  Microsoft is looking for a solution to this problem."
It saves the recently opened files.  All settings seem to save as I don't need to reset them.  But of course its worrisome.
    Note:
Everything has been unisnstalled and reinstalled 3 times.
All permissions have always looked okay.
I have tried running it as Administrator and still have had it happen
Illustrator has been the only program of all the ones installed to have this issue.
Are  there any fixes I've missed?  I'm a cloud client so have expected a patch for a while now to come out fixing this, as I've updated Illustrator a few times since starting using CS6.

Illustrator has crashed twice on me today, for absolutely no discernable reason. Both time it has crashed, I have not been trying to do any kind of complex operation, which only makes it all that much more infuriating, since I don't see it coming and am completely blindsided, losing hours of work.

  • Illustrator CS6 download through Creative Cloud "appears corrupted" according to App Manager

I'm trying to install Illustrator CS6 through the Adobe Application Manager on Mountain Lion 10.8.  All of the other apps downloaded and installed fine.
But when trying to downlaod Illustrator, it downlaods the file, and the a message appears saying "The download appears corrupted.  Please Cancel, wait a few minutes and try again. (-60)".  I've been trying off and on for the past week or so now.
    Any tips or tricks?
Not sure if it's relevant since the other apps installed fine, but I'm currently installing to a new external SSD drive that I've booted from.  I'm installing all the software I need onto it.  Then once I'm done and ready, I'll swap drives.
I'm running Apple OS 10.8 on a Macbook Pro with 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo procs and 8GB of RAM.  The MacBook Pro is a 17-inch early 2009 model (first unibody model).
    Thanks!

    Hi Adam,
Its a workaround but might be an easy solution, you might just download and install the Illustrator CS6 trial and then just license it to be part of your Creative Cloud membership using the "License This Software" option.
    This document describes the process.

  • Why is my Illustrator cs6 not opening files.

I'm having a issue with Illustrator not opening files (eps or ai) either from the server or my desktop, opening original from Indesign, double clicking a file or from the menu 'open file'. I have to end up quitting Illustrator, then open the file from one of the methods above. Same days it all works fine then other days it doesn't. Quite confusing.
I've uninstall then reinstall Illustrator previously and it seemed to work fine for a while then it started doing it again.
And I've tried finding the info on the forums for Illustrator. If its there please point me to the right place.
    Illustrator CS6

Please let me know if if more information is required.

    Aaron,
Here is a list from easy to serious (note the Cleaner Tool as part of uninstalling and reinstalling in 6), and you may have some disturbance from other applications, see the usual suspects in Item 7) in 5), and 1) - 2) may be the first ones to try, before 3) and/or 4) ):
The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
    1) Close down Illy and open again;
    2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
    3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
    4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
    5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
    Even more seriously, you may:
    6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

  • Illustrator CC 2014 files saved as previous versions corrupt

On occasion we need to save Illustrator files as version 8.0 ai files and version 3.0 eps for customers with older software and to import into industry specific software for further work (CAD).
Illustrator CS6 works fine for these tasks. Using CC 2014 the save files are corrupt:
The file saves normally, no errors indicated. Trying to reopen the saved files results in the dialog above. The CC 2014 files reopen fine, the corruption happens to the files saved in previous versions. The files are fairly simple structural designs for the box industry, all basically straight lines, no placed graphics, minimal text for labels.
    Mac OS Yosemite, CC 2014

    Hi,
It is not possible to open the files in a previous version of Muse. It is not backward compatible.

  • Help recovering a Illustrator CS6 File

When I tried to open a big project I been working for many days, I get this error message:
I Need help urgently to fix this issue, since I cannot see most of my layers on the file after it opens.
I am using Adobe Illustrator CS6, on a macbook Pro device.
    Any help will be appretiated..

    S,
You may try to plunge into the code of the file to recover what is hidden in it.
This instruction by daxxter is quite good (you may also look at the posts there):
    http://daxxter.wordpress.com/2009/04/16/how-to-recover-a-corrupted-illustrator-ai-file/
Apart from that, you should never end a single day of work without saving it in a way that is independent of the fate of what is on your computer/server/cloud/whatever you rely on for current work. It is also advisable to save versions of long ongoing work under new names from time to time to have something to fall back upon.
