Illustrator CS6 unavailable for students

I am a teacher at a school in Vilvoorde, Belgium. At the moment I teach Photoshop. Next year I am starting with Illustrator. Up until CS5 it was possible for students to buy Illustrator CS5 as a standalone package. Now Illustrator CS6 can only be bought in a boxed version (Design Standard is the cheapest at about 300 euro). Most of my students have already bought Photoshop CS5 at 240 euro. It is quite a problem for them to buy a package of 300 euro, of which they now only need Illustrator, which used to cost around 129 euro.
The school can still buy Illustrator as a standalone package, but students cannot.
Flash, DreamWeaver and Lightroom are still available as a standalone package.
Why is Illustrator treated different?

It seems to me tha though it should standalone I am guess Adobe thought most people that buy Illustrator also use Photoshop and since the cost of the two are less expensive in the package and you get ID in the Design Standard why not give the stiudents the break.
And quite frankly since they probably will now need ID as well even if you do not teach it will be beneficial to them as they will have the latest version and if they wanted to upgrade CS 5 to CS 6 it cost the same as the student price so it actually seems like they woud be getting a good deal.
And if they wanted to pay by time they can get the subscription.
I( don't know if it is a good complaint or not. on one had they might save 150-170 euro but on theother had they might be loosing out on an opportunity. And maybe being on the cloud is a valuable thing for students who are much more modern and use to the idea of remote storage being able to download and use the software anywhere.
maybe it could be a good thing why not discuss it withe both customer support and your students and see how they actually feel about it

I bought Illustrator CS6 DVD for Mac OS but cannot see install.app file on disk. Anyone know how I install the program?

Adobe Illustrator CS6 disk bought for Mac OS but when I run the DVD the disk appears but there is no viewable install content. I can't see an install.app file and the program is not automatically running. Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong? Thanks.

Are you able at all to execute the install file manually?
You can always try downloading tye installation instead of using the disc. Your serial number from the disc will work for the download.

Free CS6 upgrade for student master collection at $599?

Our school sells the Master Collection for $599 (currently CS5.5). I would like to buy it and the school staff assures me that I'd get the free upgrade to CS6 if I bought it now. However, that price (which they've had for awhile now, and is not listed as a special or sale price for them) seems to be less than the normal educational price for the Master Collection. They say the price will go up when they have CS6 to sell.
The adobe upgrade policy says that the following are invalid: "Receipts showing a product price that is discounted more than 25% off the Adobe retail or educational price (some product exceptions apply)"
What is the regular educational price for the CS5.5 Master Collection and does a purchase now at my school qualify for the free upgrade to CS6 Master Collection when it is released? The price listed on the adobe site for CS6 Master Collection is $799, which would make our school's price 25.03% off that.
I want to buy now but want to be sure to qualify for the discount.
2nd question: if this is eligible for the upgrade, can I buy the Mac version and then switch to the PC version later? Our school is out of stock on the PC collection and won't get any in until May 4th. (which is cutting it very close to cutoff date for eligibility on upgrades).

I'm also in the same situation, kind of. I already got my cs5.5 master collection through my school on the 26th. But every other post I've read about the upgrade only says Creative Suite cs5.5 will get upgrade. So I'm trying to find out if people who got the master collection (which comes with the Creative Suites) are eligible for upgrades complimentary? Any help answers would be appreciated. Thanks.

B&H in NYC still selling CS6 Extended for students. Is this legit? Will Adobe still provide the license keys for download?

If I purchase Photoshop CS6 Extended (student edition) from B&H website, will I receive the Adobe license keys? I tried this at another university bookstore locally and could not make this work. Got the impression Adobe is no longer providing keys to download this package. Help please.

Illustrator CS6 freezing (for up to an hour) when saving

I've been having this issue with seemingly random documents... It tends to occur when a document is even slightly complex. (By that I just mean it could have lots of text or vectored images. Nothing more complex than that. Even when the text is entirely outlined.)
Not all documents are like this. Most save just fine. Sometimes Illustrator freezes for a few moments, but yesterday one file took an hour to save. The first time I tried I waited 30 minutes but then force quit the application because I had to move on, but I lost all my work. I had to redo everything again, so the second time I just waited it out.
I tried trashing preferences like someone suggested on another thread here, but that accomplished nothing except me having to completely redo my preferences even though I put them back.
Any other suggestions?

Note: This could be unrelated but at this point I don't know - the server I connect to for work is very slow right now, and we've been having connectivity problems. I work from my desktop but then copy everything back once I'm done. Could this be affecting my computer?

Your server does play a very big part in this. Even if you are saving to your computer, and the server is connected, that can kill Illustrator. For us every 2 months or so, our server needs a reboot. We can tell be cause we get a spinning beach ball for everything, and once you hear other people complaining you know something is wrong. I dismount the server so I can work, and then log back on after the reboot.
So far you only mentioned saving is slow. Do a save as and turn off PDF compatible(on the second window), that will make you file much smaller, and you do not need that unless you are placing into InDesign.
Other things can cause this such as a bad font, font database or full hard drive. Have your peers had any similar problems? Update Illustrator to 16.04 if you have not and run disk utility to fix permissions.

How to install Photoshop CS6 Extended for Mac with no DVD drive?

I have bought the Photoshop CS6 Extended for Students for my new Mac and realized that I don't have a DVD drive to install it on. Is there a way that I can install the program without the cd? I have looked into the "free trial then activate" route and Adobe no longer offers a free trial for Photoshop CS6 Extended.

Hi there,
I'd like to purchase Adobe Design Standard. But I have a big problem understanding the system you are working with. I'm a student from Romania in the 1st year of Political Sciency University and I'd like to get and Adobe Design Standard for Student License. How do I'm going to get it? Because I've read all the instructions and didn't understand a thing. Can anyone help me? I've just switch with an iMac and I'd like to buy a CS6 license for student. This means I can use in commercial ways before and after the study years ends right? Also the license comes with the CD/DVD for install?
Also I'm running on Mac OS X 10.7.4 (just updated yesterday). Is the pack going to work on this version?

Is Illustrator CS6 available at a student discount?

I'm trying to download Illustrator CS6 (not creative cloud) onto my home computer but since I am a student, I wanted to get the student discount. I purchased Photoshop CS6 about a year ago and it was available, but now every time I go to Creative Suite 6 for Students and Teachers, Illustrator isn't available. Is there another way I can download it? Thanks!

I have owned Illustrator CS6 for years now, but all of a sudden it says my trial period will expire. What is going on? I do not want to lose my program in 25 days over something I had no part of.

What is the price to upgrade to the new CC version? I can't get any information on anything from Adobe. I am so annoyed with their website, I really have lost interest. I don't use the cloud, and only want to use 1 or 2 of their products. The last product I bought, has now been taken over, and says my TRIAL will expire, when I have owned it for years. It seems like the options are, pay monthly for everything, or get nothing. I'm not sure if this is designed for students, who can use everything, which is a really cool option, but not what I want.
I've always been a die hard Illustrator fan, but I have not been able to use other ADOBE products. I am, or was, really looking forward to the new CC version.
