Illustrator cs6 windows 7 64 bit,

Illustrator cs6 windows 7 64 bit, When trying to move text the arrow automaticaly turns into the text tool and trying to move a vector object the arrow will not gather the object and when I finley get it gathered I have to move it with my arrows on my keyboard. what is going on?

Nancy,
I take it you have all layers visible at the same time. The rendering was just an (obviously irrelevant) example of what might eat time (if you make a layer visible, things like complicated blends and live effects (Drop Shadows or whatever) may take a bit of time to appear).
With that ruled out, some description of the artwork may (still) be useful.

  • Unable to start Illustrator CS6 64-bit on Windows 7

I installed the CS6 Master Upgrade yesterday and almost all of the apps are working correctly. However, when I try to open Illustrator CS6 64-bit it returns this error message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." The 32-bit version works correctly. Any suggestions or similar cases? Thanks.

I feel like I need to chime in here.  I just installed my new Master Collection of CS6 all my x64 applications were working with the exception of Illustrator x64.  I Googled the heck out of this and found so much back and forth between adobe saying it's a microsoft issue (.net framework and redistributables) and microsoft saying it's an Adobe issue.
My windows installation is fairly fresh, but for the heck of it I tried unexpectedpanda's solution of uninstalling/re-installing the Microsoft Visual C Libraries.  I followed the instructions to the letter, I even went so far as to uninstall/re-install .net itself.  No luck.
I saw the Lightroom (error unable to start correctly) fix mentioned in a few places, and thought frick I've tried EVERYTHING else.  I did the following to fix this annoying issue:
    1) Download the Lightroom fix (mentioned in the link from crebimacedo)
    2) Extract the .dll files from the .zip.  There are 2 files; msvcr80.dll and msvcr100.dll
    3) Opened folder Adobe Illustrator CS6 (64 Bit)/Support Files/Contents/Windows
    4) The above folder already contains the msvcr80.dll so I did NOT overwrite it.  I simply copied and paste the msvcr100.dll into the above folder.
    5) Tried to launch Illustrator CS6 (x64) and imagine that. WORKING!
To me this says that this was indeed an Adobe issue and their installer appears to be missing a file.  Especially when a fix file from their website resolves the issue.
I would also just like to add that I have confirmed that this file already existed in my C:\Windows\System32 and in C:\WindowsSysWOW64 so my OS was NOT missing it as a .dll; again reiterating that it appears to make this an Adobe issue.
    Good luck to the rest.

  • Illustrator CS6 64-bit Crashes When Opening Files

This is a problem that has been plaguing me since I moved to CS6 64-bit (on a Windows 7 machine). I've only seen it in Illustrator:
Seemingly randomly once or twice a week, I will click on an AI file in Windows Explorer to open it, and Illustrator will crash to the desktop. There is no consistency to the files that I've been able to find. Some are local to my hard drive, and some are on the network. It could be a file I've opened several times the same day already or a file I haven't opened in months. I restart Illustrator and everything's fine— I can access the file, no problem.
The only trait that I have sussed out is that it seems to happen more frequently if I've left the computer idle for 20 minutes or so, which is well below the sleep time-out for my hard drive. It's almost like Illustrator doesn't know how to wait for a file if the file isn't immediately available. (The files are not open elsewhere.) I've read that Illustrator is cranky with files on network locations, but this happens more frequently with local files.
Program files are loaded from an SSD, but the scratch disk is my local HD and my files are stored on the HD. My scratch disk was originally the SSD, but the problem occured almost every day under that configuration. Moving the scratch disk to the HD made the crashes occur less frequently.
The event log for yesterday's crash doesn't seem to be particularly helpful. (Posted below.)
Is this behavior familiar to anyone? I have been searching Adobe's forums and the web in general with no luck for the last year. My apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere in the forums and I haven't found it.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give that a shot... but wouldn't other applications be experiencing the same thing? I open Photoshop files all day and it's never happened. I'm in and out of CorelDraw as well. (I don't open Corel files in Illustrator.) I also see no disk errors in the event log, but, as I said, I'll check for updates because that couldn't hurt, right?  :-)

  • CS5 plugin to work on Illustrator CS6 64-bit?

    Hello,
I have a plugin that should work on both Illustrator CS5 and CS6. CS6 also supports 64-bit illustrator.
Can i create a 64-bit configuration for the CS5 SDK and make the plug-in work on Illustrator CS6 64-bit?
    Thanks

I don't know if its possible to build a single binary that works in both anymore. Its definitely possible to have a code base that generates two without a whole lot of problems though -- we do it
The main problem is that in CS6, none of the legacy suites are present (unlike CS5 and earlier). Also, a lot of types have changed (and its going to get worse next version since they've indicated they're going to change AIReal from float to double). So if it is possible to make a single binary, its a very short window where its useful because I can guarantee it won't work for CS7 (CS6.5?).

  • Illustrator CS6 64-bit dvaui.dll and msvcr100.dll crashing problem, any solution?

First things first, trying to find a tech support Email address or phone number has been infuriating.  The "3-step support wizard" which results in "go to the forums" is also infuriating and insulting.
I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC running CS6 64-bit (updated/current), and it's crashing at random (2-3 times per day).  I see events recorded in the event log showing dvaui.dll and msvcr100.dll as the source.  Other people have raised this as an issue, and all I see are guesses.  Does Adobe have a credible solution for this yet?
I've tried running as a domain admin, which did not help.
Illustrator CS6 32-bit seems to be working perfectly (4 days straight, no crashing).
It seems to currently affect only one computer (5 others are fine).  It's not repeatable, and has no discernible cause.
Also, format and reinstall is neither a solution nor an option.
To be honest, I'm looking for Adobe to address this directly: do you know why this is happening, and how long until it is solved?  If an Adobe tech support will open a case, I have a file that the designer (I'm not the designer) was using during one of the crashes.  I don't know if the crashing will be related (to the file), but I have the file just in case.
    David.

    Hi Larry,
    Thank you for responding.
    > CS6 is current in that it is still available for purchase and in the CC but it is now two versions behind.
I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say.  Can you be explicit, please?
    > As to your problem have you tried downloading the .dll files from Microsoft and reinstalling them?
I have copied and re-registered the DLL files from a known-good machine (that is to say that the machine doesn't exhibit any of the symptoms as the above machine), which did not help.
I'm really interested in having Adobe respond directly to this issue.  I know they are aware of it.
It's clear that Adobe doesn't actually want to support this program, but people rely on it for their economic success.  Both my client and his employees need this program to function properly and reliably, and I think anyone would agree that it's reasonable to expect that a problem like this (that affects more than just us) be, at a minimum, addressed.  Adobe has my client's money, they had no problem accepting it.  With that acceptance comes a duty to be responsive.
    Thanks,
    David.

(Windows 7/Vista)
インストールトラブル用の CS Cleaner Tool(Creative Cloud | Creative Suite 3/4/5.x/6)

  • Use illustrator CS6 Windows in a  Mac ? I've got a pc and want to work on an imac, but is there no way to use my softwares adobe windows ?

    Hi.
    All is in the title.
    If anyone could answer me.
I've got a licence illustrator CS6 windows,  and It would sound me incredible, not to be possible use it on mac.
    Thanks a lot.

    Thanks a lot Mylenium.
Another question, please : I still have a little doubt with terms (I'm french and my english is not perfect). If I request a platform swap for Illustrator CS6, the new platform product still will be a CS6 ? Because switch to the new version CC would be as if I hadn't yet bought a licence (a subscription would mean pay twice...).
    Thank you for your answer.

  • Several daily crashes in Illustrator CS6 64-Bit

    Hello,
After a long hard struggle with CS6 32-bit, Windows XP and 4 GB RAM, we decided to do our designers a favor and install Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit, 16 GB RAM and a new SSD for them, in order to speed up their daily work. Besides that, the PC is equipped with an i7-2600k and some HP-motherboard (it's an HP Elite 8200 with the beforementioned upgrades).
The good news is, that it has increased the speed greatly.
The bad news is, that Illustrator (the 64-bit version) has a tendency to crash several times each day. I havent' been able to find a pattern, unfortunately, but here's log-files from event viewer:
Faulting application Illustrator.exe, version 16.0.0.682, faulting module 4f6e45b7, version MSVCR100.dll, fault address 0x10.0.40219.325
Faulting application Illustrator.exe, version 16.0.0.682, faulting module 4f6e45b7, version dvaui.dll, fault address 0x6.0.0.0.
I've seen a few threads regarding the first crash, which suggested, that we should run Illustrator with administrative priveleges. So we did that (setting the permissions in the shortcut), but with no luck. I have absolutely no idea what dvaui.dll is, though.
The user is a local administrator, which should rule out any permission-issues in my eyes.
Any ideas on how to proceed?
    Best regards,
    Thomas

We are having the same issue and unable to find a common pattern. We reformatted the PC and reinstalled Illustrator.
Logged in as a local administrator and domain administrator, same issue.
Cleared Settings & Preferences, same issue.
Turned off Preferences sync, same issue.
    Turned off AVG, same issue.
Unable to find a common pattern at all.

  • Illustrator CS6 Windows crashing on save

    Hi all,
I've seen similar questions, but haven't been able to solve this. Apparently randomly, Illustrator crashes when I try to save a file that I last edited several days ago. It consistently crashes on the same file (so trying again never helps), but it doesn't seem that every file is affected. I'm running cs6 on windows 7. I've tried resetting my profile and deleting temporary files (disk cleanup) to no avail. Any thoughts? I'm also not sure where to look for a crash log. Thanks!
    Trygve

Found a solution that fixed my problem:
Somehow the permissions to the illustrator prefs folder permissions had been changed to "Read only". Unchecking the "Read only" checkbox made Illustrator capable of saving files again without crashing.
Folders I had to give new permissions: C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS6 Settings\

  • Illustrator CS6, Windows 7, compression

I have been saving all my files without compression in Adobe Illustrator, and many of them contain photos. They are large files, but everything we do is printed at 2400 dpi. Will it affect print output if the files are compressed when they are saved? Thanks.

    OK.
Compression will produce smaller Illustrator files but will not affect output.
Illustrator files, by default, are saved as one file in two distinct formats, one the native Illustrator data and one a PDF. When you edit the file in Illustrator only the native Illustrator part of the file is used and the PDF portion is ignored. A New PDF will be created when the file is saved. Compression only affects this part of the file, but is lossless (unlike JPG compression). Compression usually has little effects on file sizes since it mainly acts on the vector data, which is usually smaller than the raster data and only acts on the native Illustrator data which is usually smaller than the PDF data. Small vector-only Illustrator files will see the most benefit, but are usually fairly small to begin with. Still, I usually ignore the Compression setting, which means I leave it on since that is the default.
Here is a simple vector file saved with compression on and off…
When you view the Illustrator file in Bridge, Windows Explorer, InDesign, or Photoshop you are accessing only the PDF portion of the file. This contains all placed and embedded raster art (like placed TIFFs JPGs, and PSD files) at full resolution, all vector art as vectors where possible (vectors have infinite resolution) and rasterized vectors and vector effects at the resolution specified under Effect > Document Raster Effect Settings.
Greater space saving can be achieved by making sure all placed images are linked, not embedded, that raster effects (shadows, blurs, and effect listed under Photoshop Effects) are minimized. If you do not need to view or output the Illustrator file in another program you can save with the Create PDF Compatible File option turned off…
I save seen files drop from a few hundred megabytes to about one megabyte. Really. You won’t be able to view those files in another program or place then in InDesign or Photoshop. But if you don’t need to anyway, then the space saving can be significant. The time saving is even more worthwhile, since saved will take a fraction of a second, not as much as a minute. This also means you will save more often since the wait for every save will be negligible.

  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 (Windows 7 64 Pro) File Save Anomaly - video link included - HELP?!

When I save a Illustrator file, all my toolbars blink, flash, and turn 'black'.... and the files take an unusual amount of time to save.  I have inlcuded a video link so you can see exactly what it is doing...
Wondering what is causing this, and how I can fix it.
The file shown in the link is 64 mb.... and has about 4-5 Photoshop placed images.
I have Extensis Suitcase Fusion 4 installed.... someone said that might be an issue???
I believe all my system fonts are intact..... at least Fusion shows them as 'protected from deletion.'
Illustrator crashed a lot too and I have no choice but to 'Close the Program.'
    Any ideas?
System has a Intel i7 920 processor, 12 gb ram, dedicated GeForce GTX 660 video card, and speedy hard drives..... what the heck is causing the chaos?
    Thanks.

PLEASE SELECT 'HD' IN THE YOUTUBE VIDEO OF MY ILLUSTRATOR PROBLEM.....

    Todd,
    I believe the message,
This file has been moderated outside Illustrator. Do you wish to continue?
    may hold the key.
This old but time extended thread has a discussion about possible reason without any conclusion, but font management (including Suitcase) and working on a network both seem to be ruled out:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/1272708
Does it also occur when all other applications (including browsers) are closed, so nothing can interfere or disturb and confuse Illy?
I believe the toolbar strangenesses may simply be owing to the effect of Illy struggling to save with heavy use of RAM.
I wonder whether one of our forum staff friends may contribute an explanation, and maybe even a cure (when they return (it is Saturday afternoon over there, and Sunday morning with them)).

  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 has stopped working on Windows 7

I've seen a few posts about this and I stall haven't seen it stop or a fix that works.
I use Illustrator any length of time (up and running just a few minutes till up for weeks on end) and as soon as I quit (either by File -> Exit, the X in the corner or Alt -> F4) it closes panels and after a bit pops up that "Adobe Illustrator CS6 has stoppped working.  Microsoft is looking for a solution to this problem."
It saves the recently opened files.  All settings seem to save as I don't need to reset them.  But of course its worrisome.
    Note:
Everything has been unisnstalled and reinstalled 3 times.

I have tried running it as Administrator and still have had it happen
Illustrator has been the only program of all the ones installed to have this issue.
