Illustrator defaults to 72 dpi ... how to change that permanently?
How does one permanently set illustrator to save at its fine drawing state and go to the 72 dpi state on those rare occasions one like me wants low resolution instead of fine drawings?

Yahoo Default location in Safari: how to change it permanently?
In Safari I have added (but don't recall how) to the toolbar an icon (with a "cloud") which takes me to the Yahoo! weather page:

Once there I can enter another location (e.g. my hometown) and also specify this to be the "default location". But this default location apparently is not being stored, since when clicking on the cloud icon
I still get back to the original "Paris" weather.
Any idea how I could make my hometown permanent?

Unfortunately, the settings are controlled by Yahoo, not your browser.
Perhaps I need to address this question to the developer of the "Cloudy" extension of Safari.
I wasn't aware this was a Safari Extension. Definitely try contacting the developer. That information should be in Safari / Preferences - Extensions.

I'm trying to change my security questions because I forgot them. When I have them sent to me via email it's going to a diiferent email. I can't figure out how to change that email that the security questions are connected to. It's not the one that I can Edit on my Account.
You need to contact Apple to get the questions reset. Click here, phone them, and ask for the Account Security team, or fill out and submit this form.

Oracle 10.2.0.3 on windows.
I would like to change RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP appeared in v$session view. I use such commands :
EXECUTE dbms_resource_manager.clear_pending_area();
EXECUTE dbms_resource_manager.create_pending_area();
EXECUTE DBMS_RESOURCE_MANAGER.SWITCH_CONSUMER_GROUP_FOR_USER (
user => 'POOL_USER',
consumer_group => 'POOLING_GROUP');
EXECUTE dbms_resource_manager.submit_pending_area();
But resource_consumer_group in v$session view becomes equal to POOLING_GROUP when i execute commands shown above after POOL_USER user is logged in. When i log out POOL_USER an log in again i have in v$session in RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP column following value :
SQL> select resource_consumer_group from v$session where username='POOL_USER';
RESOURCE_CONSUMER_GROUP
OTHER_GROUPS
OTHER_GROUPS
OTHER_GROUPS

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

Printing from Firefox - Print defaults to LANDSCAPE. How to change to PORTRAIT? (Mac OS 10.8)

Printer Model: CE-875AOS: Mac OS 10.8.3Browser: Firefox v 20.0 When I print from Word or Excel, all is OK.However, when I print from Firefox, any website (example):http://www.gentrustwm.com/wp-content/uploads/GenTrust-Perspectives-April-2013.pdf It prints ONLY in Landscape mode. This truncates pages.I want to change the default setting to Portrait for all printing from Firefox and from Adobe PDF.I can't find a way to change the setting to PORTRAIT. After Command/P, I see PRESETS/SHOW PRESETS/DEFAULT SETTINGS... this shows Orientation=Landscape. However, can't find the way to change the default. Please advise how to do this?I have the same problem. All of the sudden Firefox reverted to landscape default. People Photo Stacks not showing photo and how to change that photo
I had a very large database of images that I ocnverted from PSE 10. All is well, except for this rather glaring annoyance. When the People is clicked to show the people photo stacks, many of the stacks only have a standard icon instead of the others that have a photo.
First, how to get photos instead of icons?

Thanks!If you are using face recognition you can reveal the people tags using the View menu. They are hidden by default.
People tags are new in PSE11. In previous versions they were simply keywords.
If you enable people tags in the Media browser you will get a combined list of imported people keywords and people tags. Although in the People browser you will only get thumbnail stacks for the new people tags. Thumbnails for people keywords will display as blank. To run people recognition click the Add people icon in the task bar at the bottom.
To chose a thumbnail for the top of each stack double click to ipen the stack, Select one of the faces and right click. Then choose Assign as Profile Picture. -

I am using Mail version 7.2, with OS 10.9.2. Only 1 month of messages are kept in the Inbox folder. How can I change that?
ramon 261No luck, unfortunetly. I've even restarted the whole computer. They are usually still there, and sometimes, even older messages that I deleted from the drafts folder a long time ago, reappear as well. I've also deleted the account from Mail and set it up from scratch several times hoping that would work, but it failed as well.

Multiple phones on account - messages default to main phone, how to change
I have multiple phones on our account, messaging is defaulting to main phone which is an older style flip phone. How can I change to the phone I want to see and sync messages from?
Each device has it's own backup on iCloud, even if under the same account. Your contacts merged not from the backups but due to syncing his phone with your iCloud account. To keep them separate, you need to have separate accounts.

I make changes to photos, then use the "share" command to put on a CD - and the photos on the CD do not have any of my changes/edits. Same thing happens when I email the photo. I turned it to black and white in iPhoto, but the picture in the email is color. Very frustrating!
Opps. Just came in from a RAW editing discussion and thought you were using a 3rd party editor.
Launch iPhoto with the Option key depressed and create a new, test library. Import some photos, edit and try emailing them to yourself. If the problem is not repeated then the issue lies in your current library.
If that's the case then make a temporary, duplicate copy of your library the apply the three fixes in order as necessary.
Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file,, Cache.dbt, that is located in your Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
If that doesn't help try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #3
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Scroll through add-ons until you find the Babylon add-on and select it which should highlight an uninstall button. Uninstall the add-on. You will have to restart your computer for it to take effect. New tabs should open to an untitled tab. Just hit your home button for the new tab.
