Illustrator.exe - No Disk Error

Hello,
I've been getting this error with a handful of documents that I migrated from an old computer.  When opening one of the offending files the following error pops up.
Illustrator.exe - No Disk
There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive \Device\Harddisk9\DR9.
[Cancel] [Try Again] [Continue]
Clicking on any of the buttons results in the error popping up again.  After several clicks (10ish) the error will stop, until you click on the document, then the error will begin another cycle.
The only thing that I can figure is that one of the referenced files in the document is not where it used to be and illustrator doesn't know what to do, or at least is not dealing with it very gracefully.
Does anyone have experience with this or any ideas on how to resolve the issue?
Thanks for your help,
Paul

I suppose the only way to fix this is to create a virtual drive/partition that has the correct mapping. You can do that on the command line using the subst command on Windows by simply assigning the drive letter to an existing directory. On a mac one would simply use aliases. If you wanted to go deeper, you'd have to read up un junctions on Win and symbolic links on Mac...

  • I keep getting adobecollabsync.exe - No Disk error

    It pops up whenever I open a pdf although it doesn't stop my work its an annoyance to me. I uninstalled adobe and installed it again but still get this error. What can I do to fix this problem? so it says at the top "AdobeCollabSync.exe - No Disk" and the error says there is no disk in the drive. Please insert a a disk into drive E:. (I don't have an E drive though)

    You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • How to stop receiving "AdobePremiereElements.exe - No Disk" error message at start-up

    I upgraded from Premiere Elements 9 to 13 at Adobe.  Install went without error, but each time I call up the program a window pops up entitled "AdobePremiereElements.exe - No Disk" with the following text within the window:  "There is no disk in the device. Please insert a disk into drive \Drive\Harddisk1\DR1."  I can eventually get this window to remove after repeated attempts, and the program seems to be running fine.  Would appreciate knowing how to stop such nonsense and remove the annoyance.  Thanks.

    Thanks for the good news that the OldFilm.AEX file is gone and no more No Disc error message.
    To update 13 to 13.1, you need to use an opened project's Help Menu/Updates.
    Have you done that, and the message was that you were up to date already?
    To check what version you have
    Premiere Elements Editor. Help Menu/About Adobe Premiere Elements. The screen that then displays should show 13.1 if updated from 13 to 13.1.
    That Help Menu/Updates location should let you take are of the Elements Organizer updating from 13 to 13.1.
    Nonetheless, you can check on Elements Organizer Help Menu/Adobe Elements Organizer to assure that the screen that displays shows 13.1 instead of 13.
    Any questions, please let me know.

    The following message shows up whenever I open itunes:
    "itunes.exe - No disk
    There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\harddisk1\DR2"
    Can anyone tell me what this means, and more importantly how do I make it stop?
    As long as I click on the "continue" button anywhere from 3 to 16 times, itunes will eventually open. Surely, this is not normal and it has only just begun to happen (after almost 2 years of using itunes.

  • "Network Magic Notification: NMApp.exe - No Disk" error message

    Since downloading a trial of Network Magic I get an error message when linking to websites from email.
    How do I fix this.

    Hi there, can you please post some addtional info so that the Cisco Network Magic Support Community here on the Linksys Forums can assist you? The info that is needed is as follows:
    1. Your Network Magic Version installed: example: 5.1.8345.0
    2. The type of connection to the Internet, like DSL, Cable, or Verizon FIOS Internet Connection.
    3. The Brand of Modem and its Model Number the router is connected to.
    4. The Brand, Model, Hardware Revision of your Router and include the Firmware Version: Linksys WRT54G v8.2 Firmware Version 8.2.05
    5. The Method of connection your problem computer has to the Router: Wired or Wireless.
    6. The Connection in use on the problem computer: Ethernet Port is a PCI Adapter Card, Linksys WMP54G v4.1
    7. Operating system and version and Service Pack Level, if any. Ex. Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Service Pack 1
    8. Software Firewall in use: McAfee Personal Firewall 9.0.136 Build
    9. Also if any Anti-Virus Program or Spyware Program is actively protecting your computer. (Some Programs like Spybot does cause problems, not being able to go to specific sites.)
    10. Include your location in the post or fill out your Profile for this forum and include the location. (Reason: Not all Routers from a given manufacturer are available everywhere.)
    11. Post the link to your Router Model, if an off-brand Router or not found in the USA on the Manufacturer's USA's Website. (Why? Posters helping each other, aren't working for Linksys or Cisco, so make it easier on the posters helping on.)
    12. And any other information you think is important if answering your own post, and the nature of the problem, itself.
    13. By posting all this information, you can hopefully get help from someone that has the same equipment that you have and theirs is working. Not everyone has the same equipment.
    (Thanks to thecreator for providing me this list of info needed for NM support)
    Please note that I am note that I'm not an employee of Cisco, and I am volunteering my time on here to assist other NM users, thanks!
    My Cisco Network Magic Configuration:
    Router: D-Link WBR-2310 A1 FW:1.04, connected to Comcast High Speed Internet
    Desktop, iMac: NM is on the Windows Partition, using Boot camp to access Windows, Windows 7 Pro 32-bit RTM, Broadcom Wireless N Card, McAfee Personal Firewall 2009,
    Mac Partition of the iMac is using Mac OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard
    Laptop: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG, McAfee Personal Firewall 2008
    Please note that though I am a beta tester for Network Magic, I am not a employee of Linksys/Cisco and am volunteering my time here to help other NM users.

  • No Disk Error when opening JFileChooser

    Hi all
    After launching my app via JWS and opening my apps FileChooser I get a 'javaw.exe - No Disk' error message:
    'There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive A:.'
    This doesn't happen if I start the app without JWS. Although it happens only the first time after opening the FileChooser it's rather annoying for the user. I can't expect the user always having a disk in their drive.
    Is there a way of switching the scan for drive A off?
    Thanks for your help.
    Stephan

    See Top 25 Bugparade: # 4264750
    This is a SecurityManager - Problem and the java.io.File.
    eg.:
    System.setSecurityManager(new RMISecurityManager());
    File[] roots = File.listRoots();
    Then you will see the problem...
    I tried the following workaround:
    before you access disk. (or JFileChooser)
    SecurityManager sm = System.getSecurityManger();
    System.setSecurityManager(null);
    // disable the SecurityManger
    // this special disk access needs no SecurityManager..
    ... popup JFileChosser or make FileAccess..
    System.setSecurityManager(sm);
    // restore the old SecurityManger
    It's not the best solution but it works..
    hope this will help,

  • How to Fix Encore "No Disk Error"?

    When trying to start Encore CS5.0 I get an "Encore.exe - No Disk" error box.  The box says "There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk8\DR8".  There are 3 buttons: "cancel", "try again", and "continue", none of these get rid of the error box and I can't open Encore.
    I've reinstalled Encore, no effect.
    I disabled a device in location 8 and the error box message changed to "There is no disk in the drive.  Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk4\DR4."  I re-enabled the device and the error box reverted to the original "...\DR8."
    Appreciate any help on how to fix this.  Thanks.

    Create an ISO (Encore) or folder on your hard drive (Encore or Premiere Elements) and then use the FREE http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download to write files or folders or ISO to disc for DVD or BluRay (send the author a PayPal donation if you like his program)
    Imgburn will read the ACTUAL disc brand from the disc, which is not always the same as the box label (Memorex is notorious for buying "anything" and putting it inside a Memorex box)
    When you write to disc with Imgburn, use the SLOWEST possible speed setting, so your burner has the best chance to create "good, well formed" laser burn holes... since no DVD player is required to read a burned disc, having a "good" one from a high quality blank will help

    It sounds like you downloaded the wrong application, namely Adobe Premiere Elements.
    If you meant Adobe Photoshop Elements, you're in the wrong forum.  This is not the Elements forum.

    Hi I havejust installed Adobe Flex 3.0 - downloaded the trial version from Abobe.com.
    I have just build a small application, and whenver I try to turn it I get the following error:
    "javaw.exe - No Disk: "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive E:."
    I have java installed on my PC - the java runtime which includes javaw.exe.
    It seems that Flex cannot find it?
    All help appreaciated.
    Thanks
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
    I've come across this....
    Seems to be related to any mass storage devices you have attached to your machine, especially things like x-into-1 card readers etc. but heard reports of external hard drives as well.
    Try removing any external hard drives, and disable all card readers and restart FB and try that. Once you have it up and running, you can usually add the devices back again.
    Cheers

  • Illustrator.exe crashes in CS6

    Hi. We purchased CS6 Design Standard with 4 licenses. 3 of the installations are running without any problems. The 4th crashes a few times/day. It is always Illustrator.exe, specifically MSCVR100.dll that causes the problem. It's running on a Windows 7 x64 system with Avast AVS. After messing with security settings, scratch disks, etc I finally replaced the PC with a brand new one (same OS). We are still having the same problems. The detail from the windows event log is below. Since replacing the PC did not solve the problem I believe it must be either attached hardware, conflicting software or something the user is doing. The only things that distinguish this user from the others are:
    Use of a Wacom tablet/touchpad
    Use of dropbox (they often save directly to dropbox)
    Any clues? I've been working on this for close to two weeks and cannot resolve. Thanks.
