Illustrator on i3 processor with Windows 7

I'm looking to buy a laptop for a student. Initially the PC will be used for surfing and word processing however it is possible that we may need to run Illustrator/CS5. In practical terms, will an i3 processor be capable? (or even a lower spec?) Is there anything I would be aware of?

Is Adobe Illustrator 8.0 compatible with Windows 7? It will not install automatically and when I try to manually run the setup exe I get an error message.

At least according to this website, you should be able to run older applications/versions in XP mode in Windows 7:

Illustrator 10 compatible with Windows Vista?

I'm looking to purchase Illustrator 10 (can't afford the $600 for CS3). Is it compatible with windows vista? I've been all over the Adobe website, but there is no information pertaining to any upgrades or FAQs on the subject.

You'll be trying to run an old version of Illustrator (now at v.13) on an operating system with which it was never tested, so all bets are off.
However, users have reported success with Illustrator versions going back as far as 8. After installation, you will most likely need to do the following:
Right-click on the Illustrator EXE file, choose properites, click the compatibility tab, and then select...
* Disable Visual Themes
* Disable Desktop Composition
* Disable display scaling on high DPI machines
It's going to be difficult to purchase a legal copy of such an old version.
Caveat emptor.
Also make sure you update to 10.0.3.

Palm T/X Sync with Windows Vista - 64 processor

I have a Palm T/X handheld and recently purchased a new computer that has Windows Vista operating system and a 64-bit processor. I tried to download the software that would allow me to HotSync my T/X with Windows Vista, but apparently this does not work with a 64-bit processor. I believe the solution may be to downdate Windows 7 to have XP running as a Virtual Machine, then run 10 in that.

The software worked on the first day, problems appeared next day. I uninstalled and deleted the exe.file, then redownloaded and reinstalled but same problem persists.
I then downloaded and installed on my PC and everything works.

I have HP Compaq p6874 with Windows 7. It has an ATI RAdeon HD 4200 video card. Will the XFX R5 230 Radeon graphics card work in my CPU and fix my gaming issues? Also, what PSU will I need to run that graphics card? Games that I have jerk and the sound stutters. These games are recommended for Windows 7. I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.

I do beleive that the card should fit into the case. However, I can't guarantee that it will solve all of your gaming problems.
The card requires a PSU with 450W to operate properly. The PSU in the computer is only 250W. So, the recommendations that I provided in my original would be good.
