Illustrator on the Cloud

Hi,
I am a designer who is used to using the CD software Adobe Creative Suite or programs pre-installed from my employer.  Is the CD version even available anymore?  I was not finding it.
I keep trying to download the trial version on the cloud.  Photoshop worked, but Illustrator keeps stopping at 42% every time I close out and try to install.   Any ideas?  Thanks!!

When you are installing Illustrator do you have any other Adobe applications running? Just to be sure close all other Adobe applicaitons that might be running in the background. Else you might find some help here: Troubleshoot download and install issues

    I have an iMac OS X and just bought the months usage for illustrator. When I go to download the software however, it makes me download Creative Cloud first but it won't do anything past the creative cloud installer load-up.

    Just to clarify, in case this helps anyone. I transferred the whole CS 6 suite using Apple's migration assistant, and the only program in the suite that could not be accessed except through the trial cloud version was Illustrator. After over an hour on the Adobe support chat, it turned out that I needed to follow the prompts to purchase the cloud version, then type in the serial number for my CS software at a certain point in the process. There you go.

    Your purchase of licensed version of Adobe applications does apply to CC subscriptions.  If you subscribe you will pay for the subscription on whatever periodic basis you choose (monthly versus annually).

    Lelisa it is only necessary to connect to the internet periodically to receive updates and validate your membership.  If you have an annual membership you can be offline for up to 99 days.  You can find additional details at Activation & Deactivation Help.
    I would also recommend reviewing Creative Cloud Help | Install, update, or uninstall apps which discusses adjusting the installation language.

    Sol 1. Please try sign out from Creative cloud Desktop App and quit it.
    1. Launch Creative Cloud application manager.
    2. Click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Preferences.
    3. In the Preferences menu, under General, click the Account tab.
    4. Click Sign Out from Creative Cloud.
    Then re-sign in and launch Photoshop CC 2014 and check.
    Sol 2. Check your Hosts file.
    Windows
    1. Choose Start > Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then press Enter.
    2. Locate Hosts file and move it to Desktop
    3. Right-click the hosts file and select Open. Select Notepad for the application to open the hosts file.
    4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
    5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
    6. Save and close the file and move it back to Etc folder.
    Mac OS
    1. Log in as an administrator to edit the hosts file in Mac OS.
    2. In a Finder window, choose Go > Go To Folder.
    3. Type /etc.
    4. Select the hosts file and move it on Desktop  open it.
    5. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.
    6. Search the hosts file for entries that reference activate.adobe.com (for example, 127.0.0.1 activate.adobe.com) and delete these entries.
    7. Move Hosts file back to etc folder
    8. Save and close the file.
    Then try launching Photoshop CC 2014 or Illustrator CC 2014
    If prompt for License this software, please click on it and sign in with the Adobe ID and Password which you have used to purchase the subscription and check if you can activate and use the products.

    I can't update and Illustrator says I am logged out when I want to acces the kuller ( color ) from Illustrator . In the cloud I want to ad some changes to my ID , it says I have no access , what is happening , do I have to un install the whole thing and install it again ? THX

  • New to the Cloud, Having Numerous Unanswered Errors

    Hi there, I'm a new user to the cloud, and so far the experience has been much less than stellar. Using Adobe's Application Manager (the most recent version, mind you), I downloaded all of the programs I needed and they ran fine. My first error occurred when I tried to update Photoshop and Illustrator, when I was told the update simply failed.
    An even bigger issue however, is that whenever I turn my computer off for the night or it unexpectedly resets on me, all of my Adobe programs lose their paths and simply break. Going into the Adobe folders in my Local Disk drive and starting the programs there results in this error, but for every program, not just Dreamweaver.

    Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
    Naturally, I contacted Tech Support for some information, and was faced with the worst support I have ever received. Usually, I am straight up told by bad support that there's nothing they can do, but this time I was led along hoping that they could do something. I was even asked to share my screen using some indirect link, which I was just not comfortable doing. In the end, I was basically pushed away and asked to re-contact them on Monday, since a new department would be talking to me by then. I would have appreciated being told that they were clueless on the situation so I could at least move on and try somewhere else, but this following conversation went on for about half an hour, excluding the long wait I experienced.

    As you might be able to tell, I started getting upset near the end. In no way did that assist me, and it only ended up wasting my time, leaving me with this big problem still. It might have been one bad contact, but now I have this bitter feeling that my support request on Monday will only be the same thing.  Is anyone here able to assist me with the errors? Being forced to reinstall the Application Manager followed by all of my programs (having to unistall the dead files too) upon every reboot is insanely tedious and annoying, especially if my computer accidentally reboots against my knowledge for updates or something else. I'd very much appreciate some help, thank you!

    Thank you, I'll give it a try. I'm really only running Microsoft Security Essentials and it never popped up stating it was affecting my Adobe files, so I didn't consider it. I added the Adobe folders to exceptions and will shut off real-time protection only during the installs.

    Define "access the cloud". I can access my iCloud.com account on my 5 year old iMac at work running OS X 10.4.11 Tiger. I can download and upload Word documents and Pages documents in the iWorks section of my iCloud.com account.
    What do you want to access in "the cloud"?
    Snow Leopard would be your next system upgrade and you should be OK with the CS3 applications, and Office 2008. I cannot confirm that the other applications will work.
    This is quite old, but take a look or Google the other applications to see if they are compatible with SL.
