Illustrator: Umwandel-Button?

Hallo,
ich hoffe mir kann jemand weiterhelfen.
Ich habe gerade erst mit Illustrator angefangen, und benutze die Trial Version bis ich mein eigenes CS5 bekomme.
Nach Downloadschwierigkeiten habe ich anstatt der deutschen Version die Englische runtergeladen.
Etwas überwältigt von dem Programm und seinen Möglichkeiten habe ich mir das Buch Adobe Illustrator CS5, Classroom In A Book gekauft, und folge nun der ersten Lektion.
Normalerweise habe ich keine Übeersetzungsschwierigkeiten, weil ich in all meinen anderen Grafikprogrammen in Englisch arbeite. Aber nun erwartet das Buch dass ich, nachdem ich das florale Design auf meinem Artboard plaziert habe, "Bei aktiviertem Bild den Umwandel-Button anklicken" soll.
Der Umwandel-Button soll sich im Steuerung Bedienfeld befinden, was, so glaube ich, ja unterhalb von 'File' 'Edit', 'Object' angesiedelt ist. (Falls nicht, lasse ich mich gerne eines Besseren belehren.)
Aber nachdem ich die Grafik plaziert habe, gibt es da nur das Menü zum Live Trace.
Ich gehe davon aus dass das Transform Werkzeug nicht gemeint ist?
Ich hoffe was ich geschrieben habe macht ausreichend Sinn.

Hm - ich kenne jetzt das Buch nicht, aber "Umwandeln" (expand) bzw. "Aussehen umwandeln" (expand appearance) finden sich in der Programm-Menüleiste unter Objekt (Object).
Ich hoffe, dir damit weiter geholfen zu haben.

I'm a photographer by trade and have only picked up enough web design knowledge in order to build a website that isn't distracting to my photographs and is simple to update and mantain. Please breakdown any answers to my questions in very simple terms.

1. My Biggest problem right now is that my site works in firefox but appears as a blank white page in chrome and in IE it only shows my background color.
I'm assuming that this has something to do with the spry menu bar I added. The galleries, banner, and footer were all part of a previous version of this website that didn't use the menu bar. I actually used png's exported from an illustrator as buttons. I've been wrestling with this menu bar for a few days now. I had an issue with the menubar forcing down the gallery below it. that was fixed by changing a position value from relative to absolute in the menubar css. Then I couldn't see the submenu over the galleries. I think I fixed that with a wmode change but I"m not sure if I did that right. I believe i needed to change that in the object and embed part of the code. One spot for certain browsers and the other spot for other browsers. I was a little confused on this because i also read that i needed to change the wmode in the javascript file in dreamweaver cs4 which is what i'm using. Whatever wmode I changed it seemed to work in firefox. The submenu background was showing up transparent but i fixed that in the menubar css.
2. I would like the submenu's to have a semi transparent blurred background effect. Is this possible with a spry menu bar?
3. How do I center my text in the submenu?
4. My menu bar buttons should be the same font as my name in my banner. It looks fine on my computer that has that font loaded but on other computers I was testing the site on the menubar buttons show up as a default font. How can i fix this?
5. Is there any way to get rid of the grey lines that show up around my slideshow pro galleries and menu bar buttons when they are clicked?
The last four questions aren't as important as the first one. I may be upsetting the flow of the forum as well. Please let me know if I'm not following procedure with any of my questions. Feel free to point out any other problems you see with my page. I'm trying to learn this as I go. Thanks in advance.

Spry widgets, which includes the SpryMenuBar, in their original state do not pose any problem in any browser!
Widgets contain two parts
JavaScript which drives the widget
CSS which styles the widget to individual tastes
The most common reason for a widget to misbehave especially in IE is because the inexperienced web developer has upset the delicate balance of the CSS. I say delicate, because in the original, great care has been taken by the Spry team to ensure cross browser compatibility.
There are other reasons why a whole page can misbehave. In these cases, the culprit should be sought outside of the Spry framework.
When trouble shooting, I would first of all comment out all of the Spry Spry parts and test the page in IE. If it does work after that, then yes come back here and we will have a look at the SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css for you.
If it doesn't work after disabling Spry, then have a look at the coding and the CSS for your page and fix that.

AI/CS4 crashes on Start-up - Suitcase Fusion 3 Issue?

I installed Suitcase Fusion 3 the other day. Now Illustrator crashes on startup. Could it be part of the SF3 auto-activation? It wouldn't be the first time it caused a problem, but I un-clicked the "Illustrator CS4" button, and it still crashes.
I did contact Extensis, and Isent them a System Profile Report. Their guy says he "sees some strange things" in it, and asked about classic and if I changed the default install location for AI CS4.
Any help will be appreciated!

I just wrote something in another thread here concerning Fusion and Font Book. They don't play nice with each other.
This should have came with your Fusion3 Install, but check out page 8 of this PDF:

On my work station, after setting up Font Book's preferences, I "disable" the program by making it a .zip archive so that it does not launch.
Concerning your .ai preferences, you have to go to the actual folder in your "Library" and delete the preferences. Illustrator will recreate this file once you launch it again.
And you can also go to the plug-ins folder within the illustrator folder to remove the Fusion3 plug-in.

Swatch Libraries Basic Graphics won't stay on.

I have Illustrator CS5 and I want the Basic Graphics (Dots, Lines, Textures) menu under Patterns in Swatch Libraries to stay on the dock whenever I start Illustrator. I save a new workspace with the libraries attached to the dock on the right hand side but when I restart Illustrator the button is not there and I have to open it manually each time. Please help.

I had already followed all those steps, and double checked them, so I thought that there must be some form of hardware conflict that needed to be resolved. As a last resort, I hooked up the problem monitor to another computer. Lo and behold, the monitor had coincidentally chosen that moment to go on the fritz.

How can I uninstall Adobe Application Manager?

After I watched a video about creative cloud, I visited creative.adove.com. Then when I tried a illustrator try button, I was asked to install Adobe Application Manager. Then it installed and begin to download Illustrator cs6. I know it will take more than day to download it. so i canceled the download. Then I was looking for ways to uninstall Adobe Application Manager. I have I idea how to do it. Can you help me please. I don't want it. Thank you

It will be removed automatically when you will uninstall the last product from creative suites (including older versions of creatives suites)
However, can you please confirm if download is happening slow on your system. Can you check your broadband speed using www.speedtest.com

Incorrect page size when creating PDF from Excel 2013 (export and print)

I am in the USA so everything tends to default to 8½"x11" ... but I created a document in Excel with A size settings. I have attempted to export it to PDF with every setting I can find set to A4 and I have attempted to print the document to PDF again with every setting I can find set to A4 (page size, layout - advanced - paper/output - paper size - A4) with all scaling turned off and yet when I open the finished document in Acrobat XI Pro (with all updates installed) the document properties lists it as 8½"x11". I don't see any resize document settings in Acrobat or any other reason it would be anything but A4 in Acrobat's settings, and I've even had someone in our design department that uses Acrobat extensively look at my steps and they don't see where I'm making any mistakes.
Does anyone here have any suggestions?

This is an adobe dumb idea inserting a Print menu in between a print menu and the printer, and not allowing the Printer to do the control Setup itself.
One of them ideas that came up when a developer was sitting around twidling his thumbs, and saying hey lets do this. Another idea That comes along with this, is the inserted property feature called simplex printing. If you want to print a PDF duplex you can setin printer till cows come home and you blue in the face. Won't print Duplex. You have to Click Propties and Locate the command simplex, and turn off.

I start a new document. Then I place my scanned pencil/colored pencil drawing, in to the document. I have tried scanning and then placing it as a jpeg, bitmap, and tiff file. I have tried scanning and then placing it, in color and in black and white. The scan mode I use is flatbed. Adobe illustrator allows me to select the default button and one of eleven preset buttons (e.g high fidelity photo), but it does not allow me to click the custom trace button. The custom trace button is grey while all the other buttons are white.
Does anyone have any ideas how I could custom trace?

It seems pointless to adjust it afterwards because it is then only a couple a pencil lines rather then a full drawing. And how do I adjust it afterwards? Would I do this using the different buttons under the window button?

Right to Left glitch in illustrator CS6, CC2014 and NO Text direction button.

On a MAC OSX machine and in my laptop (Windows 8 (64 bit) I am having issues with Illustrator CS6. The Text direction button that is supposed to be in the Paragraphs palette is missing. Is there something special I have to download in order to get it or something?

I am now thinking it might be a license thing, but I would like someone from Adobe to confirm this (and possible explain why this is). I am a student, and I use the student license, furthermore the Windows 7 PC I was using was a school computer which is using an educational liscense(all of the computers at school which use and Educational Volumne License are missing this Text Direction button). However another student has the full version and has the Text direction, and when he makes files and brings them school, sometimes his files gives an error when he opens it and it says this photohosp file was made with a different text engine, and then procedes to get stuck in RTL. He has Windows 8 PC and the full version of PS CS6, that is the only reason I think of that is different.

Illustrator CS4 - Saving Buttons Created in Illustrator CS4

How do I save a created button in Illustrator cs4 without the whole page - just the button - it was straightforward in illustrator CS3.

I don't understand your question. In all version of Illustrator you always save the whole page. Do you mean Export? What format? How are you exporting? Are you using Save for Web? Did you turn off Crop to Artboard? Have you tried resizing the artboard to the size of hte button?
Also, the whole purpose of this forum is to provide help for users of Illustrator. Please try to include some hint about your problem in the title of your post. Imagine if everyone did what you did, calling their posts "Illustrator CS" or "Illustrator CS3". How much fun would it be to go back and check your responses, when there are dozens of posts with the same title?

My Print buttons are missing Illustrator CC

I just started using Illustrator CC on a Windows 7 machine and the Print Dialogue Box is not working right. It is missing the "page setup", "done", "print" and "cancel" buttons ... it is also fixed at the full width of my screen.
I am running on a Macbook Pro using Bootcamp.
Any ideas?

Unles someone comes up with something cleverer sooner than later, you may start on the following general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences):
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

You can double click on the selected object to get into the multilevel isolation mode.

Buttons do not work when I work in adobe photoshop + illustrator cs5

Please help me. I have two computers, but the Macbook AIR is a problem. I work in Photoshop and Illustrator cs5 and after some time, I do not work the buttons (only letters)... You have some third party software which is causing problems with modifier keys. Common culprits are Microsoft Office apps and Intuit apps. Occasionally VPN clients have been known to cause the issue.
Ensure all yoru software is up to date. Photoshop 12.0.2 and all other third party apps.

Illustrator problem with command button!

I didn´t realise where I should put this topic so I put it here...
When I´m usins Illustrator keyboard shortcuts includind command button such as Undo=command+z and quit the program with command+q does not work? But it works it Photoshop and all other programs...

Turning an object into a mouseover button which displays a Layer using Illustrator CC 17.0

Hi,
I've been set the challenge of creating in interactive PDF which when hovering the mouse over a button reveals some text adjacent to the button.
I've seen it done on YouTube using an older version of Illustrator where the text box to be displayed sits on its own layer and the button reveals the layer.
I have created the layers with the various text boxes but can for the life of me work out how to assign these layers to the object so that they are revealed by hoveing the mouse over them.
Please help as its driving me mad.

This would have to be done in Acrobat using Form elements and JavaScript or by creatively (mis-)using the comment tools there.
