15 is CS5, 16 is CS6. CS5.5 is in between those two.

You only need to use the serial number during installation.
Have you, at least seemingly, been able to install, and then you are unable to start up?
If that is the case, you could try to reinstall using the full three step way:
Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

You need to convert the VOB files in the TS-Folder of the DVD back to DV which iMovie is designed to handle. For that you need mpegStreamclip:

Illustrator won't start, says "updating font menu"

Hello,
Illustrator won't start, gets stuck on "updating font menu";
it starts ok from other user accounts but I want to keep my own, customised user account, it will take me a long time to recustomise another. Has someone had the same problem and can someone help me ?
I use Adobe CC, and Mac OS 10.10.1.

Well, I found my solution myself:
in your user folder, right click, shiw view options, tick show Library folder.
In Library folder, go to Preferences, and trash "Adobe Illustrator 18 settings" folder.
Then Illustrator is again able to start.
Online chat told me that my user account was corrupt and there was nothing to do but create another user account or else ask Apple. I'm quite surprised at the inadequacy of the service I received.
Maybe Adobe customer support team could benefit from a more in-depth training… what do you users think ?

Since you are loading your swf over http, it will be placed in a remote sandbox and will not be able to access the local filesystem. You should load your png in the same way as your swf (ie. over http), or embed it into your application.

What installed iPhoto there in the first place? Was it the same version of iPhoto that came with the Mac? Was iLife added at a later time from a Mac Box Set? You can selectively install iPhoto, and then apply the appropriate iLife update without taking it to the shop, after removing the application, or recover it from your backup.

Database Engine won't start - master DB log file issue

I had a server patched and reboot yesterday and now the SQL services won't start because it's saying it can't find the master log file. I checked the path and the log file is present. Any suggestions.

That did it. Not sure why that switch was there.
It might have been intended, but it was added incorrectly. -g512 is a legal switch. Then again, since you have 64-bit SQL Server, it is not likely that you will needed.
(The -g switch increases the area known as memtoleave, which is the virtual address space (VAS) not used for the buffer cache. On 32-bit SQL Server you may need to increase this area from the default of 256 MB. On 64-bit SQL Server the full physical memory
is available for VAS; on 32-bit it's only 2GB.)

i deleted the rdf and now the first window only (and any tabs in it) are maximised. i found this in the rdf

i tried changing normal to maximised; no effect. either i need also to change the numbers (to match a maximised window) or ff ignores this. i want to be able to open different sites in different windows, and not have to maximise them manually. ff never used to be broken, why break this? what possible security flaw was fixed by screwing up ff to never open maximised unless u hack it or delete certain config files?

Hi, i started to learn DPS two weeks ago and had a lot of fun. But yesterday i had a problem how to start a weblink autmaticially. The checkbox in the Overlay Creator panel for activating auto-start doesn't react by clinking on it. And the default is inactive. The other checkboxes in the panel also don't react. Could this problem be a InDesign-bug? The background, what i tried to do ...i inserted a local HTML5-File as a weblinki t's shown on my iPad after synchronizing. But i have to tap on it for showing the HTML-content - but i want to start it automatically.

I assume this is FF's problem because when I run firefox again after killing it, the file appears correctly; or if I run firefox, and then try the exact same exec process, it works (i.e., in a 2nd tab). And I think closing "Firefox won't start after update 3.6.3 downloads and installs" was ridiculous, since the supposed solution ENDED WITH A QUESTION and WAS NOT a solution. j.g. owen * email: [email protected] * web: http://owenlabs.org

Updated OSX (10.6.5) - and then thought what the heck, I'll trying enabling Firefox Sync. And it worked - for a couple of days. Until I accepted the update for Firefox Sync (1.5.1) - and I am back where I started, nothing works.
