Ilustrator CC update fails, yet app and CC report up to date

Illustrator CC on Windows 7 64 bit, fully patched. Today I got a message from the Creative Cloud systray app that updates were available, so I opted to Update all.
The Illustrator CC showed up as 'failed', and when I restarted the PC, the CC systray app, made no mention of Illustrator having been successfully updated (unlike Indesign etc).
The CC app no longer offers an Illustrator update (suggesting that the update HAD installed ok) and [Help, Update] says I am up to date.
Yet, looking at [Help, About], Illustrator shows as 17.0.0 - suggesting that no such update has been effected.
Any ideas?

You're fine there has not been a point release on Illustrator 17.0.0 is correct the updates are small bug fixes which will actually be a different build version not a different point release.
The updates are small bug fixes and performance and security fixes not anything major.
There has been no point releases for any of the apps only new builds.
17.0.0 is correct.

Itunes update failed to install and now Itunes won't run

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Thanks a lot i followed the instructions for safe mode (i found out that i was pressing the C button after restarting) i did whats written there but the repair couldn't be performed so in addition i needed to re-formate the HD so i erased the volume and then repaired the disk--> quite disk utilities --> start the installation from the installation DVD.

more than likely that app was downloaded using that apple id.. unless you know the password, you will not be able to update.. delete the app and re-download using your new apple id

Do you have any firewalls or antivirus software active (e.g. Little Snitch), that could prevent the installer from contacting the Apple Servers? If yes, turn them off. Also, disable the Energy saver, to prevent the Mac from falling asleep and causing time outs.
Sometimes it will help, to run the installer in Safe Mode, see: Mac OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

See if either of these things works for you. In the future ... Only update one app at a time. Forget that the Update All button even exists. It causes more problems than it does good - IMO.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.

It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

Vinod is correct in that you can build a new app that's iPad-only, but if you try to submit it as an update to the existing app, Neil is correct--Apple will reject it because it's considered a downgrade. Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.
