IM+ and other chat Apps

Got my iphone yesterday.
I downloaded ebuddy to play around with, which was ok. When I run the program in the background the message popped up my main screen to let me know I had a message. Which i think is pushing yes?
However I then brought IM+, it now even the the programs stays logged in (well kinda maybe thats pushing) but now I wont the messages dont pop up on my main screen and i wont get them till i phsycially login into the application. Which is annoying.
Orginally I thought it was im+, but when i tried again witg ebuddy i had the same problem so I guess the iphone settings.
Anyway Ive looked through all the settings and I am lost
Any help?

All 3rd party apps do not run in the background.

If Push notifications are included/provided/supported by the app developer for a particular app, you are prompted to enable Push notifications the first time you launch the app. If Push notifications are included/provided with an app, you can check which type of Push notifications are provided by the app developer with the app at Settings > Notifications. Select the app to turn on of off the type of Push notifications are included/provided by the app developer such as Sounds, Alerts, and Badges. If all 3 types are included/provided with the app, you can enable or disable all 3, or enable only one of two types of notifications.
If the app is running in the background, a pop-up message on the screen with a message is received is not Push. If the app is not running in the background - the app is suspended when leaving the app, a pop-up message on the screen with a message is received is a Push notification.
If Push notifications are included/provided by the app developer for an app and your desired Push notifications are enabled for the app and the notifications are not working, you need to contact the app developer for the app to report this since this is the app developer's responsibility.

Hello,
Can you tell me how can i block all websites from a network except a few of them using a Linksys wireless router?
Also, i need to block several ports used for Skype and other chat apps.
I want this solution to work for the whole network. Not using windows policy or other ways where i'd have to go to every single computer.

There's a way on how to do that but it depends on the model number of your device. What's the model number of your router anyway?

Activation Limit for BlueFire, OverDrive and other reader apps.

BlueFire, OverDrive and other reader apps for iPad uses Adobe ID authorization for each app. There is a limit of only six activations and each reader app counts as a new activation and if I exceed six activations I would get too many activation error. Does deauthorizing these apps credit back the activation count or only erase the activation from the device local storage? If I install both BlueFire and OverDrive I'll burn two activations. If I delete the app and then reinstall it I'll burn two more activations and if I hit the six activation limit I'll get too many activation errors. Why does each reader app count separately even on the same iPad? Why does Adobe count each separate IOS app as a separate device?

Quit/close all apps and restart the iPad.
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Quit/close open apps by double tapping the home button and the task bar will appear with all of you recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner to close the apps. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
You can try this as well.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Looking at the details for this mic, it appears that the app has to have the option to use the internal specak when a mic is plugged into the headphone jack. Specifically:
NOTE: When MityMic is plugged into your iPod/iPhone you won’t be able to use the onboard speaker for sound output. You must remove the MityMic then play back your recordings. (The Skype app has an option to enable the onboard speaker even when the mic is plugged in, so you could use MityMic for placing Skype calls. However most other apps do not have this function.)

so, that means i must "open" the app in background in order to get push notification??
what i mean by PUSH notification is by double clicking your home button, then press on the apps and CLOSE the app and yet you can get message from your friends. I think iphone cannot do that currently?

This is normal. OS X doesn't come with iLife apps, so you have to reinstall them after reinstalling Mac OS X.
If your Mac came without DVDs or you purchased it after July 2011, you have to install the iLife applications from the Mac App Store. Open the Mac App Store, log in with your Apple ID, go to Purchases and download GarageBand, iMovie and iPhoto free of charge.
If your Mac came with DVDs and you didn't purchase the iLife apps in the Mac App Store, insert the Applications DVD and install the iLife apps. Then, open  > Software Update, and install the latest iLife applications version

Working with the MS Word iPad and other office apps: Onscreen keyboard will not minimize

With Microsoft's announcement today of allowing limited editing capabilities in their mobile apps, I installed the updates on my iPad. So far, everything works great...with one exception: The onboard keyboard will not get out of the way...won't
minimize.
I have last year's iPad Air and was trying to use my Bluetooth keyboard with each of the MS Office IOS apps. Consistently, across all of these apps, the keyboard would stay on the screen and the key for minimizing the keyboard had no affect, even though
my Bluetooth keyboard was linked and working. Any other app I use automatically removes the onscreen keyboard when the Bluetooth keyboard is detected.
This does make the applications difficult and not much fun to use.
Any thoughts? Anybody else notice the same issue?
My office has begun deploying Office 2013/365 and I know we'll have some users on iPads and other tablets, so I'm real interested in correcting this if at all possible.

Beryl and Other OpenGL apps.

Hey all,
I am running xfce4.4 under Beryl and have been having an interesting issue.
When I try opening any other OpenGL app(IE celestia, xscreensaver, etc) I get this wierd overlay effect where the OpenGL app distorts and flickers.
I have AIGLX running with the xf86-ati-video drivers running.
Any suggestions?

Are we ever going to see this (and other mobile apps) available for Android?

I'm starting to get pretty upset about this. I've been a proponent of Adobe CC since it started, as the licensing and payment model works great for small businesses like mine. However, I feel like I'm not part of the CC group now as more and more mobile apps are launched that we cannot access. Surely there's a huge portion of Adobe CC users who don't use Apple products, but still work on the road and want to work with clients in their offices, etc, etc.
Calling all non-Apple users... please can we apply some pressure as a group and get Adobe to make some sort of effort on this front?

Or how about the other 90% of businesses working on Windows? When will this be available for Windows? (2-in-1s, Surface Pro 3, etc.)
Please, stop with the Apple bias, Adobe! I'm never going to realistically use Comp CC, Photoshop or Illustrator on something that has only 1GB of RAM, a cutesy single-core mobile device processor (vs. the i7 in the Surface Pro 3), that can't print to the HP color laser jet sitting next to me, that can't multi-task between programs and that forces you to use a squishy, hide-the-pen-tip, rubber-tipped stylus. It's like choosing your teenage daughter's tablet to do demanding, professional work. Square peg, round hole.

My iPad is a 16 GB, it says I have 0 space left even after I erase all my pictures, music, games, and other unnecessary apps. It will not let me download anything. This doesnt make any sense??

I use my iPad for school and I only have a few apps on there. I have zero pictures/videos. 2 textbooks that dont take up the whole storage space so that isnt the problem. I have no music. When I go into usage in settings, it says 0 bytes available and says my photos and camera are taking up a considerably large amount of space. What gives?

With an iOS device, the “Other” space in iTunes is used to store things like documents, settings, caches, and a few other important items. If you sync lots of documents to apps like GoodReader, DropCopy, or anything else that reads external files, your storage use can skyrocket. With iOS 5/6, you can see exactly which applications are taking up the most space. Just head to Settings > General > Usage, and tap the button labeled Show All Apps. The storage section will show you the app and how much storage space it is taking up. Tap on the app name to get a description of the additional storage space being used by the app’s documents and data. You can remove the storage-hogging application and all of its data directly from this screen, or manually remove the data by opening the app. Some applications, especially those designed by Apple, will allow you to remove stored data by swiping from left to right on the item to reveal a Delete button.
