Im buying an ibook g4. The specs are 1.33 ghz with 1 gb of ram. Can this run warcraft 3 smoothly?

How can I run my mac smoothly?
My macbook has been giving me trouble since long now. It was almost a year ago that it started to trouble me when it stopped at the apple screen at log in. I then reinstalled the Mac OS after starting it in safe mode. But it gave me the same trouble after some months and has still been giving me trouble. Now i cannot even update my mac os software. The mac runs extremely slow. Some times i have to wait 30 mins just to launch an application. could some body please help me
Thanks Mike! This seems to help a lot. Earlier yesterday i tried to update my software and I had to update individual components of the package to update the software. It has improved but I think it still has room for improvement. I have attatched the copy of my activity log, please do have a look at it. Any advise to improce the speed of my mac is highly appreciated.

Can we run Xcode 5 smoothly in MacBook air 4th generation with 4GB RAM and 1.3 GhZ processor ??
I am planning to purchase MacBook Air-11inch due to light weight. As MacBook air has turbo boost feature upto 2.6GHz.
I would recommend a different machine. I don't see how you will do anything in Xcode on an 11" display. I finally broke down and got a 2nd monitor for my 13".

Does the computer's installed version of OS X (Tiger 10.4.11) have an install
+ restore DVD, or is that missing? The original disc set usually would include
the extra applications not found on a retail version OS X install DVD; and a
bonus is the original software kit included the version Apple Hardware Test
for your computer model. This also is not included in a retail OS X install DVD.
If you have your computer serial number and model information available,
and try calling Apple (main number, not local store) and ask to speak to an
Operating System Specialist, when you get someone matching that position
on the phone ask what they can do for you regarding a Replacement DVD
install disc for a system that can run in your computer.
If your computer shipped with a Tiger version, that would have been originally
on a grey-label DVD set include with the computer, with a part number on it.
A replacement may be harder to get, than say, a white label Replacement
DVD install disc for Leopard 10.5. There had been a white label non-retail
full install version of both Tiger and Leopard, available for a time from Apple
sales support main numbers (or applecare?) for a reasonable fee. Maybe still.
Perhaps if one kind of replacement system disc is not available, they may
have some other option at Apple. The main store number may not be the
correct place to ask, but they may be able to redirect you to an OS Specialist.
(in US 1-800-MY-APPLE is the main #. There is another number I don't recall.)

No, you would need to obtain a license for the Mac version and that will not be possible for anything older than the most recent version (CS6).

Does anyone know why I can't run my FCP version 3 software on my computer. I get an error message asking me to re-install the programme as it can't find a file. I re-install and get the same message. I was previously running this version on my old titanium 667GHz laptop with great sucesss.

ibook G4 1.42GHz Mac OS X (10.4.6)Could be that Tiger and FCP 3 don't get along (never tried it actually), but make sure the install is done right before you change the OS or create a new startup disk for FCP 3. Uninstall FCP 3 first: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93742
If the reinstall after uninstalling fails... I'll bet you need to setup a startup disk running OS 9.2.2 or Jaguar 10.2.8... to run FCP 3 on your iBook. You should be able to buy an ibook from the ibookstore with your credit card. If you don't already have the card on your iTunes account then you should be able to add it if it's registered to exactly the same name and address as you have on your account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country - you can either add it by logging into your account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes, or by tapping on your id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) on your iPad.

A. Not necessarily. Many applications work perfectly under CrossOver without any modification whatsoever. However, we may simply not be aware of them. So, just because an application isn't in our database doesn't mean that your application won't run. You might consider downloading the trial version of CrossOver to see if your application works. And if it does, please consider submitting it so that it makes it into the database.
Q. If I don't see my application here, what's the easiest way to find out if it will run under CrossOver or not?
A. Download the trial version and find out. That is by far the fastest, easiest way to answer this question. Regardless of whether the answer is "yes" or "no", we'd love it if you would submit the application to the database.
Q. I've tried the evaluation version of CrossOver with my application, and it doesn't appear to run under CrossOver. Is there anything I can do to change that?
A. Absolutely. Depending on your situation, there are a number of things you can do. These include:
# Becoming an advocate for the application in question. Volunteering your time can help us accumulate better data on the application in question. And as CrossOver Wine continues to improve, odds are the application you need will improve under CrossOver as well.
# Pledging some level of monetary support to bring the application in question under support. If we reach an economically meaningful amount of money on the table, we'll bring the application up under CrossOver. You'd be amazed how quickly a group of individuals can accumulate the necessary funds. Of course, if you have enough money by yourself, so much the better.
# Contact the software developer, and suggest that they work with us to make their application function under CrossOver.
Q. When you say "economically meaningful" (per the last question), just how much money are we talking about?
A. Answer: it really all depends. Supporting a big, important application that we think we can potentially drive more sales of CrossOver can be a factor to bring the cost down. This is particularly true if we know beforehand that {Customer X} will buy {Z Thousand} seats of CrossOver if the application in question is supported. On the other hand, if the application is known to be big, gnarly, and complex, that brings the cost up. As a result, we review our supported application roadmap on a case-by-case basis.
Q. Generally speaking, how much does it cost to get a Windows application to run well under CrossOver?
A. That's a lot like asking, "How much does a house cost?" Again, it really all depends. How complex is the application? And what qualifies as "runs well" for your production environment? The answers to both of these questions can have a dramatic impact on the likely cost of an engagement. For more information on how we approach CrossOver implementation projects, go here.

After all, if we can make MS Office run, odds are pretty good that we can get your application running, too. The only question is how much work is entailed.

Can I run iMessage on an iBook G4?
I am resurrecting my old iBook G4 (late 2004 - 1.33GHz PowerPC G4, 1.25 GB DDR, currently running 10.4.11, but I am considering an upgrade to 10.5).
I know that this model and OS came with iChat, and that iChat supposedly was replaced with iMessage. Does this mean that I cannot use the iChat feature anymore? Will it work with the iMessage network? Can I install iMessage on this old of a platform? Will upgrading to 10.5.8 (the max this machine can support) allow iMessage? I have done a lot of research online and cannot find a minimum software requirement for iMessage.
