Im guessing these Voltage readings are incorrect. (K9N2 Platinum)

First off my system:
K9N2 Platinum
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
Rosewill 500 (Recieving a PC Power and Cooling SILENCER 750W tomorow)
Anyways, the voltage readings for this board are way low. Though i havent had a single shutdown, or lockup due to low volts, even when oc'd..
For the most part ill let the screenie do the talking.
The Vcore reads a bit high and gets higher under load
The VRAM,Vchipset, and VCC1.5V all read way low.
everything else seems fine.
And a stable oc from earlier. http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=498491

Ok heres another one.
I set my CPU voltage in the bios for 1.325(the lowest setting)
And when the pc is idling it shows 1.34. At 100%CPU it shows 1.37...
Is movement like that normal? Or just a sensor/software/calibration/offset issue?

  • P45 Platinum Voltage Readings in Speedfan & HWMonitor

I am having some problems reading the voltages (+12v, +5v, etc..) of my P45 Platinum motherboard in Speedfan and HWMonitor.
    Attached are some screenshots.
I also did a search and found this thread where jack the newbie posted screenshots about his speedfan readings: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=121987.msg922325#msg922325
His voltage readings are also around the same range.
Is this due to a problem with our motherboard or the reading of voltages by speedfan/hwmonitor?
Could those who have the P45 Platinum do a test and see whether they get the same strange readings from the voltages too?
    Thanks in advance

Those readings are impossible readings.  No system would be able to function with the +12V level dropping to 1.23V.  It is simply impossible.  Both of the tools show wrong readings, which is not the fault of the board but a problem with those tools.  Check the voltage levels in BIOS, or, even better:  use a multimeter.
Thanks Jack the newbie. And thank you youeffsee for testing on your board. That shld be proof that I'm not the only one facing this issue and my board is not bad. Phew...
I knew those were ridiculous readings. The readings in BIOS are perfect. If those tools are bad, are there any that currently read the voltages correctly on the P45 Platinum? Besides MSI's own DualCore Center of course. Being able to monitor voltages in Windows without a multimeter sticking out of the casing would be nice.
And does anyone know what the other voltages/temperature sensors are reading? Thanks again.

  • Inaccurate voltage readings in test.

I am getting a higher voltage in the VI Logger test screens than I am applying. For Example, I am applying a steady 5 volts and am reading 6.3 on the PC. My voltmeter reads 5.0 at the cable entry.

I ran a few tests with VI Logger on my machine reading voltages and saw the difference between the readings I received from the Virtual Channel Test Panel and with the task in VI Logger. The only time I noticed that VI logger readings being higher and inaccurate was when I had a huge range set up for my virtual channel. I was reading a mv voltage and if I had the range set from 0 to 100 V, then VI logger would report a slightly higher voltage.
I also tried another machine with a 5V input into the DAQ device and VI Logger and the 5V was read correctly.
In your system I would be sure to verify that the virtual channel and task are configured correctly. Also check to see if you read the correct voltage from a normal test panel of the virtual channel (Under Data
Neighborhood you can right-click the channel and choose "test"). If these readings are the same as what you see in VI Logger, then most likely your configuration and system are not set up quite right. Verify what input configuration (such as Differential, RSE, NRSE) you are using and if that applies for the voltage being applied.
If you still have questions or are reading incorrect results then let us know what else you discovered and we will see what else we can do to help.

  • RAM voltage readings with DMM vs. Software on X58 Pro-E

I almost fell over with shock when HWmonitor and Speedfan both reported my RAM voltage spiking over 3volts when running Prime95. When idling the voltage readings fall to about 0.6v and jump around during use.
I set my RAM voltage in BIOS to 1.5v but software doesn't report that voltage at all.
So I grabbed my DMM and measured the voltage on the Mobo directly and found that the voltage is in fact exactly 1.5v
How is it the software can show variations in voltage from 0.5 to 3.7 volts when it's ALWAYS 1.5v when measured directly from the board with a meter?
I measure from the silver tab (center leg) of what I'm sure is a kind of transistor or FET, which I know is v output.
How can I trust any of the other voltage readings then? Especially the CPU v.

Quote from: Jack on 14-July-11, 21:56:29
Neither one of these utilities is actually able to correctly monitor the actual memory voltage.  Just ignore those readings.  They are absolutely inaccurate no matter how you look at it (@3.7V you memory modules would probably simply vaporize and @0.6V your system would not be running anymore).  These readings are IMPOSSIBLE readings.
Don't trust any memory related voltage readings that you get from third party software applications.
    There you go.
That's what I figured, I wan't suspicious until my RAMv hit over 3.5v nearing 4v when stressing with Prime95, I couldn't understand how it was so high and still working.
I mean, all the voltage readings on speedfan show what look like normal values when I know full well they're not the ones I manually set in the BIOS. It's frustrating.
And yes they're all the latest releases and by BIOS is up to date with new firmware but NO my OS is still vista 64 SP1 with absolutely NO updates installed. Though I seriously doubt that'll change any voltage readings I get in speedfan.
I'm almost tempted to colder connections to all the voltage points on the Mobo for easy DMM connection. But I probably won't cos it's not worth the trouble.

Hey, guys. Thanks for responding. I really didn't know I was so clueless about this stuff.
I really thought "urxvt" could be used as an alias or, what we called in Debian, an alternative, to the rxvt-unicode-256color command. I guess not? I'm still trying to set up "vi" to be Vim as well, and I'll read more of the Wiki to figure that stuff out with Arch.
So in the tty interface I can start zsh again just fine. That's old news. I removed the TERM setting and placed the resource in my .Xresources that derhamster said. Thanks.
I also replaced the line in my Openbox rc.xml and menu.xml for terminal opening commands (can I use $TERM for those?)
Now when I start Xorg (with Openbox running) I tried both urxvt-unicode-256color and urxvt but none of them work with Openbox. No terminal emulator pops up and no errors show that I can see.

  • IPhoto 11 Faces and Dates are incorrect when synced to iPad/iPod

iPhoto 11, "Faces" and file creation dates appear to work perfectly when viewed within iPhoto 11 on my MacBook Pro. However, a few dozen Faces and creation dates appear incorrectly and out of chronological sequence when viewed on my iPad or iPod. I have rebuilt my iPhoto 11 library several times and re-synced to the iPad/iPod, but the problem persists. Anyone having the same issue or happen to know of a solution? Thanks in advance.

    iPhoto Version 9.5.1 (902.17)
It was moved to the library by being imported from an NTFS external hard drive, which has now been reformatted to Mac OS Extended (Case Sensitive, Journaled), the iPhoto library was originally located on the built in SSD drive, but is now located on an external hard drive, due to capacity limitations.
I am seeing the incorrect face orientations when I view the faces in the faces view of iPhoto, when I go onto a person, some are incorrect orientation.
But when I click on the files, they are correct.

They are also incorrect using photo screen savers.
(These images are for demo purposes only, and the issue is not limited to the photos shown).

  • TS4532 My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange using the web browser. The connection worked until IOS 6.1.2 was Install

My iPhone V will not connect to a Microsoft Exchange server. It says that the User Name or Password are incorrect even though they're not and I can log on directly to Exchange with the same parameters using the web browser.
I bought the phone when it came out last October. The connection did not work at first, then started without warning in December. It worked perfectly for 2 months then stopped again when IOS 6.1.2 was Installed.
    Help please!

I have forwarded these questions about the version of Exchange server that is being used and whether Microsoft host the mai themselves to the IT Dept but I will not get a reply from them until tomorrow.
In the meantime I have also tried:
Deleting and re-creating the account AGAIN!
And re-setting the phone (recommended as a solution to a similar problem with an iPad in another forum.
    But please remember that:
The phone would not connect for 2 months after I bought it
Then started working unexpectedly in December
Then stopped working again when IOS 6.1.2. was installed
Also why am I the only person affected by this when colleagues with iPhone 3s and 4s who use the same mail system are not (I am still trying to find one with an iPhone V to see if their's works).
Like I said I think that there must be a fault, either with my own phone or with iPhone Vs in general.

  • Open Credit values are incorrect

The open value credit values are incorrect. we have to run RVKRED77 every night to correct them. We have been unable to replicate the error so  the SAP  position is they need to replicate the error  in order to fix it. I can see the S067 strucures with the incorrect values. A further problem is that as the day goes on the values get corrupted and are not fixed until the correction is ran. I have been reviewing OSS note 124571

    Hi Dave,
I was able to fix the issue by implementing OSS note 491718.
As for the cleanup - ohhhh boy, I have been working on it for over a year and it's still not done. I can only manage one CCA per weekend. I run Z_CREDIT_VALUE_COMPARE (oss note 666587) every Friday for a given CCA to identify the customers with incorrect value. I then update a default variant for RVKRED77 and enter the CCA and the list of identified customers.  RVKRED77 is setup as a job (with the default variant) to be executed every Saturday night after the system backup.  This will ensure that users will not be in the system and not have any locks on SD tables.  Otherwise, RVKRED77 will fail since it cannot get a lock on SD tables.
SAP has yet to come up with a better approach to correct these incorrect values and to prevent it from happening again.  However, SAP Solution Manager and central consistency monitoring (Data Consistency Cockpit) may help by notifying you as soon as this issue appears again.  You can read more on this in OSS note 1040893.
    Hope this helps,

  • Do these voltages look right? P7N-P and Q6600 OC'd to 3.42ghz

Started a new thread because my last thread was digressing.
    Do these voltages look right?
I recently overclocked to 3.42ghz by cloning the settings of someone with the same hardware in this thread.
    I ran Prime95 for 10 minutes.
After 5 minutes, the hottest core reached 70C.
In the next five minutes, the temp wavered between 69-71C.

If you are keeping it on 3.6 GHz and you have DDR2-6400 memory you shouldn't need to unlink the FSB. The Q6600 G0 CPU's I have worked with, had a sweetspot at 3.6 GHz and was far more reliable at that speed, than on other frequencies in the range up to this spot.
You should not go for a silent version CPU cooler on this. The CPU require a lot of cooling. Find a cheap watercooling kit, or very big air-cooler with adjustable fans (it might be noisy). The Zalman I used was a 9700, and I had it running at full-speed making a lot of noise. Later on I changed to use a Thermal Take Kandalf LCS watercooling chassis which was really good for the setup. Kept CPU and my 8800 gtx at around 50c and it was quiet.
The only problem I had on this system was a NorthQ 450W PSU. It couldn't really handle things, so all my problems with crashes and BSODs that I initially had with the system, went away when changing PSU to a thermaltake toughpower 850w.
Mine did about 4GHz, but I never really found a way too cool it properly at 4 GHz. Another thing I remember is, that the Q6600 gets unstable around 85c+, and is not really usable in that range.
I would love to take it to 3.6 or higher.
I see a lot of people doing that.
But, I don't trust this Arctic Freezer 7 to go that high.
Even at 3.42Ghz it is sometimes unstable under load.
I have Core Temp set to put it to sleep at 78C.
I would like to be able to keep it under 50 or 60C on these long jobs.
It's tempting to consider water cooling, because the better air coolers just won't fit in there.
I also have to consider noise.
Are the pumps noisy for water cooling?
Recently, my system has started going into standby or sleep if I walk away too long.
I come back and find all the fans as high as they are before booting.
This is making it harder to abandon the computer when it's on a long job.
I don't know where to fix that - BIOS or Win7?

  • Voltage readings from transducer

Hi guys, I am currently stuck in here. I am doing a program that can take voltage readings from transducer using three-loop structure.
I have a layout for that in my front panel. I am not sure if I am on the right track. Can give me your opinions on this?
    Many thanks!!!

I get your point. What I am trying to do here is I first select a few channels. When the program is running, the total no of channels and the binary value
are displayed. By looking at the binary value, I am able to tell which channels are light on. Basically my objective is to get voltage readings from the transducer and save the data. However I like to do an "Initialise" before starting the program. In addition, I am looking on ways how to set timing for scan and data log for eg 0.5 hr, the panel will show this particular channel reading? U guys have any clues on this? Do let me know if you have problems viewing the file. Many thanks!!!

  • My thermocouples reading are incorrect

I am acquiring temperatures using type-J thermocouples with PCI-6033E and SCB-100. I have created a virtual channel for each thermocouple and I also have a channel for the CJC that I tested and it works ok. I am running the channels in differential mode which is the mode of the board. I have also 27K resistances between the negatives and the AIGND.
The thermocouples give incorrect readings. For example, if I move one thermcouple signal from one channel to another, it gives totally differnt readings.
Another example is that sometimes the readings are ok while other times the readings are wrong without modifying anything in the circuit. Am I doing something wrong or what?

I am using the board (PCI-6033E) to measure 24 signals, 8 of them are for thermocouples. All the remaining signals are working properly. So, I don't think there is something wrong with the board. I did also the on-line calibration test for the board and it turned out to be ok. It's only the thermocouples that cause me problems. Now, 7 of the thermocouples are giving me correct values while the 8th one is giving me unphysical values eventhough it was working ok some time ago. (same signal, same channel, same everything).
Regarding the interchannel delay, I'm sorry but I am new to LabView, How can I set the interchannel delay?

  • DAQsingleBufExtTrig_Eseries.c returns higher voltage readings each time it is run

I am useing A pci6024E board running the sample program DAQsingleBufExtTrig_Eseries.c to read an analog signal produced by A FUNCTION GENERATOR
I thought that things were going well until I
realized that each time i ran the program ,the voltage readings increased by about 1 volt each run .
irregardless of the function generators settings
I tried adding the AI_CLEAR FUNCTION TO THE PROGRAM BUT STILL GOT THE SAME RESULTS.Can someone please explain what I am doing wrong
    [email protected]

    Walter
Does the program finish on its own, or are you aborting it before it ends? Also, is it that the voltages continue to increase, even above the range of the board?
Try to do a DAQ_Clear(iDevice) at the very beginning of the program as well as the end.

I have no proof, but I think it will not work with an adapter, only Mini Display Port or Thunderbolt.
