Im having audio issues on my Envy17 3270nr

Whenever I play a video or  audio, it makes a tapping  sound.  Can I fix this?

I called HP, and they tried to walk me through the process of finding the problem, and they came to the conclusion of it being a hardware issue. Something is wrong with the speakers. They want me to send it to them  so they can fix or replace the speakers. Maybe you can do the same.

  • My iPhone 5 is suddenly having audio issues through the headphone jack.

    So this is a strange situation, and I'll try to explain in depth so that someone might be able to suggest a solution. As reference, I have an iPhone 5 that I purchased in late-February. I've had every other model of iPhone except for the first iPhone, so I am pretty familiar with the device. I used to be on AT&T, and switched to Verizon when I upgraded to the iPhone 5.
    Two days ago, I was on a six hour road-trip, and I'd been playing my music like normal through my car's auxillary cable. After stopping for lunch, I went to plug my music again, but once the music started to play, I realized that only the drums were playing at normal levels while the vocals were very, very soft. I switched through a few different songs, and realized that all the songs were being played at different levels; sometimes the backup vocals were normal levels while the instrumentation and lead vocals were quiet, or vice versa. I decided to plug my iPhone in to charge, and when I did this, the audio levels were all normal. However, the iPhone was NOT charging. I removed the charger, and the audio went back to being weak and distorted. I went back and forth at this for a bit, trying to figure out what was going on.
    Since then and after some testing, I realize that my iPhone will now only charge anywhere EXCEPT in the car charger (I simply use my USB cable that came with my iPhone and plug it into the power adapter I have in the car). This morning, I tested the audio in my home speaker system, and I had the same audio issues. Only half the song's tracks would be at normal audio levels, while the other half would be at a very quiet, almost nonexistent level. I tried plugging my charger into the phone to see if that'd make a difference, but instead of the audio going back to normal like it does in the car, the music stopped and there was just crackling and very noisy distortion sounds.
    I'm super confused and not sure what to do. This has never happened to me with any of my iPhones. I am updating my software right now, and am hoping that that may help somehow. Otherwise, I'm at a loss. Any suggestions as to what I should do would be greatly appreciated!

  • Anyone having Audio Issues with new Mac Mini, new Thunderbolt Display and new Pegasus R4?

    I can't listen to the built-in speakers on my brand new Apple thunderbolt monitor to the terrible audio quality.  I'm running Mac Lion on a new Mac Mini with a brand new Promise Pegasus R4 - all purchased in January 2012.   The entire setup is connected via Thunderbust errh, I mean Thunderbolt.

    Hi,
    I'm also having an audio problem, which I suspect now is caused by my Thunderbolt display.
    See https://discussions.apple.com/message/21499606#21499606 for the small thread.

  • I am having audio issues. I cant hear callers but I think they hear me. My keyboard isnt creating the little noise either.

    I cant hear callers. I hear the phone ring. I answer and they can hear me but not I them.
    the keyboard doesnt ding with each pressing of the letter either

    For the Keyboard Clicks issue: Have you checked to make sure that the Keyboard Clicks options is toggled to "On" in the settings?
    Settings->Sounds->Keyboard Clicks
    For the Receiver problem: I would backup the device in iTunes. Then attempt a Restore, followed by setting the iPhone up as a new device. Make sure you rename your iPhone something different as to not overwrite the existing backup you made. Doing this will not bring any of your information back onto the device, but will give you the opportunity to test the device with a new operating system installed on it. If the problem persist after the restore (set up as a new device) then the problem lies in the hardware. If the problem does not persist, then you will need to avoid restore the device from your backup, as the problem lies in a corrupted operating system. Please let me know if you have any questions.
    Hope this helps

  • Having audio issues with droid 2

    So I just got my droid 2 global phone today and it has no audio on the speaker, so I can't hear my volume at all when reciving calls or playing music but I CAN talk to people. I have put my head set in and it works then , I have restarted it and taken the battery out. I have no idea what else to do. HELP!!!

    You have done all the troubleshooting steps that would be suggested to fix it. I'm sorry to say, your phone needs to be exchanged. If this was an online order and you are within 30 days of purchase, you can exchange your phone in any company-owned Verizon Wireless store or call us at 800-922-0204. For phones purchases at authorized dealers, you would return to their store location.

  • I'm having audio issues with my hp pavilion dv9910us laptop.

    The day before yesterday the sound was working perfectly.. Yesterday I noticed I didn't have any sound so I checked under control panel- hardware and sound and tried to adjust the volume and it says "no audio device installed". Then I went to Device manager to sound, video and game controllers and checked properties and it says the device is working properly. I tried downloading sp42090.exe (an updated driver) but I can't install b/c it says it's already installed. This is so frustrating, don't know what to do. Any  help will be appreciated.

    Welcome to the forum.
    Hmm..  sp42090 appears to be the touchpad driver patch (for Vista 64bit).
    Not an audio driver.
    Here's the Vista Audio help file to get help get you started:

    The Audio help page does have some things to try and even a "Mr. Fixit" button.  It may work - I can't test it for you, I'm running Windows 7.  Smiling.
    Here's your Software and Driver Page:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=2100&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=3740...
    Sounds like you've done some homework.
    It's not "disabled", is it?  Right click on the sound icon to check...
    Nevermind - "no audio output device" is not "disabled".
    If the system can find the driver in its own internal backup, it will do so when you reboot the system.  If not, then you start looking for it at the posts above.   Keep us posted - lots of smart folks here to help!

  • Re: Win7 x230 2306CTO audio issues

    Hello I'm giving feedback about the audio issue people are talking about in this discussion forum.  I have an x230 that keeps having audio issues.  Either the audio buttons stop working or if the buttons work, no sound is heard from the laptop without going into device manager and removing the RealTek audio driver and then letting Win XP find it again.  It appears the issues isn't O/S specific and have also seen that laptops sent to Lenovo have the system board and speakers replaced, however it doesn't resolve the issue.  I also see that by reimaging the laptop, that doesn't solve the issue either.  The details of the machine are below:

    Hi all,
    After discussing this issues with our Cusotmer advocates teams seems that this issues was resolved by doing an unistaaltion of the current drivers and reinstalling the drivers from our support site. Additional updates to the audio and communication application had found to rectify this issues. At the moment I will be setting this post as solved and the resolution. We will continue to monitor this thread and should further issues arise we will gladly unmark this as the resolution and sought to fina new resolution that fits best.

  • I'm having some Audio Issues involving my headphone jack (air and pro)?

    Ok, so, this is pretty weird.
    I have had two macbooks thus far (a 2011 macbook pro and a mid 2013 macbook air)
    I replaced my pro in 2013 due to a separate issue.
    Anyway, I have been consistently having an issue where any type of headphones I put into my computer eventually begin to lose sound in the left earphone - but still work fine on other devices.
    I.e, I'll get a new set of headphones, use them for a week, and a week later, no sound will come from the left port - but only when using my air. It is most definitely not the headphones.
    It's not the output balance - when I set the balance all the way to the left, no sound comes out, and the problem continually reoccurs with every new set of headphones I get - on TWO different computers.
    The same issue happened on my pro, and happens in my air.
    Am I like, inserting the headphone jack in "too roughly" or something? What's going on?

    some headphone jacks arent the exact right length and the contacts miss
    1. diff headphones and same
    2. diff. audio , from Itunes, online etc, and still same
    3. youve checked balances.
    4. RESET NVRAM

    Shut down your Mac.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

  • Having an issue with Audio Capture...

    Hello all.
    I've written an applet that captures audio, plays the audio back, posts the audio stream to a server, and retrieves it from a server.
    It is working great on Windows XP Professional, but I'm having some issues on XP Home edition.
    The captured audio on XP Home contains quite a bit of static.
    When attempting to post the captured audio to the server on XP Home, the request hangs.
    I think this has something to do with the encoding of the character stream coming from the sound card/operating system.
    Here is my encoding information:
    float sampleRate = 8000.0F;
    int sampleSizeInBits = 8;
    int channels = 1
    boolean bigEndian = false;
    return new AudioFormat(AudioFormat.Encoding.PCM_SIGNED,
    sampleRate, sampleSizeInBits, channels,
    sampleSizeInBits/8, sampleRate, bigEndian);
    Has anyone encountered this issue before? Do I need to run an encoding algorithm before posting the audio to the server?
    Thanks in advance and Hello from Arizona.

  • No Audio on Main Menu - Please post if you are having this issue....

    Howdy...
    I am having trouble getting any audio on the main menu. I can drag and drop audio files (non-DRM) to all my menus, and it shows up in the inspector, but when I preview or burn a disc, the main menu has no audio. All of the sub-menus have the audio just fine, but not the main.
    I'm currently using the 'Stretch' theme...
    Again, all sub menus work just fine, but the same audio will not play on the main menu.
    Does anyone have a solution?
    If you are also having this problem, please post here...
    Thanks...
    Best,
    Ben

    I've stumbled onto the reason for this problem. It's because you unintentionally muted your audio for this menu. To resolve it do the following:
    1. Open the menu where you are having audio problems
    2. Click on the drop zone icon to open the drop zones
    3. Move the music (the iTunes music notes) that you've placed here out of the menu box
    4. By getting the music icon out of the way, you will reveal a tiny black sound/audio icon
    5. If you strain your eyes and look real close you will see that there are no sound waves coming out of the sound icon
    6. Click on the icon and tiny black sound waves will appear
    7. You have now "unmuted" your menu
    8. Drop your music selection back into the menu drop zone
    9. You now have sound!

  • SoftPhone over VPN audio issue

    Having a "one-way" audio issue when IPC connects over VPN to any Main Office IP Phones (7960). Remote IPC (softphone) shows "0 Received" Packets, but the IP Phone shows them as being sent.
    This does NOT happen if IPC contacts another IPC on a PC at Main Site, or any kind of phone at the other branch offices.
    Have looked at all of the audio settings on the VPN IPC unit, they are correct.
    Any ideas?

    Try to sniff the Ethernet traffic during call setup at the CallManager. When Callmanager sends Call Control messages to remote party, it could send wrong IP address or UDP port as an RTP parameters.
    Another components could block the traffic are firewalls. How do you have your VPN tunnel built? Do you use Cisco VPN Client? What terminates your VPN traffic at the central location? PIX, VPN3000 or Router? Traffic may go one way without a change, and some protocol FixUp may be triggered for this traffic on the way back. If you have access to firewall logs, check if you have any traffic dropped.
    Good luck,
    Mike

  • Audio Issues After Upgrade to linux 3.9.2-1

    I did an upgrade today and now I'm having an issue with my audio. What happens is it'll sound like it is skipping every few seconds. What I notice is the headphone symbol flickers on in the GNOME top bar, as if my computer thinks the headphones got plugged in and then removed vary rapidly. My first thought was poor connection to the wire going to my speakers, but it is fine, the speakers work with my laptop no problem, and the same problem comes with my headphones. Also I didn't have this problem before the update.
    I was having trouble finding any info elsewhere about it, was wondering if anyone had a similar issue. The update I suspect is the linux kernel 3.8.11-1 -> 3.9.2-1, though I suppose I have no basis for suspecting it. Below is the pacman.log for today when I upgraded.

    EDIT: So, after some not so successful searching I decided to test my suspicion. I downgraded from linux 3.9.2-1 back to 3.8.11-1. There were a few dependancies, the virtualbox guest and host modules as well as an update to nvidia. To be safe I downgraded all the nvidia updates that had happened. pacman log below.

    So, now how would I go about determining which package broke the audio? I had suspected the linux kernel update, but I suppose the nvidia update could have done it to. If necessary I'd love to file a bug, but I want to make sure I can describe it efficiently. (I've never filed a bug before.)
    EDIT (5/31/2013): Currently some work arounds that may alleviate your issue, the one that worked for me is to disable auto-mute in alsamixer. The problem however does still exist in the latest kernel upgrade, 3.9.4-1. Bug report is still open, and can be found here: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35262
    Thanks,

    Thanks for reporting it. Slight note though, I had no noise at all (no flickering).
    If someone could update this thread when a new kernel works, that'd be great! I put it in my IgnorePkg for the moment.
    Is there anyway to edit a bug report? I don't see anything obvious, but I'm exhausted, so maybe my brain isn't working properly. Anyway, if there isn't, I'd just leave a comment on the report with the fact that you hear nothing, not even the flicker.
    And thanks for reminding me to add it to IgnorePkg, forgot to/never have had to do that before. But I'll be sure to post here when I know it's fixed.
