Im having trouble backing up my iphone 4 to icloud, anyone have any suggestions how i can fix this? I have tried resetting all the settings on my iphone but nothing works
If you get the message "Backup not successful", I had the same problem.
My solution was to turn off some apps (Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>manage Storage, tap my device name in the Backups section, then look under Backup options) and try a manual backup. If it didn't work, turn off a few more apps and try a backup. Keep doing that until the backup works. Then try adding in some of the last batch of apps that were previously turned off - the objective is to find the app that causes the backup to fail. For me, I suspect that the one app I found had a bad data file that, when included in the backup, caused the backup to quit.
This can be a long process if you have a lot of apps that you originally turned on for backups.

Go to expresslane.apple.com and go to itunes/itunes store and billing/redemption and apple ID account billing, and click on send an email or talk to a live chat advisor.. have your order numer, cost, and the name of the item... you'll need to explain in detail. If you send an email they will get back to you within 24 hours. If you chat with a live advisor they will assist you immediately. They are really good at getting you a refund when needed.

Make sure you've followed the instructions in this support article. Note that both iCloud and FaceTime on the Mac must be signed in to the same Apple ID; those are two separate steps. Also note that the Mac and the phone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Ethernet won't work. Trying to pair the phone to the Mac as a Bluetooth device won't work either.
If cellular calling still doesn't work, sign out of FaceTime and sign back in. You may have to do the same on the phone. The email address that you use as your Apple ID must be able to receive FaceTime calls. -
I have a macbook and I'm having trouble backing up my pictures on an external hard drive. The Macbook won't install the backup drive soft ware? It is a new Sea Gate hard rive from costco.
You don't want to install the software that came with the drive, you don't need it and it will be problematic. Connect the new drive, open Disk Utility, select the new drive and partition it using the GUID partition scheme, then format it as Mac OS extended journaled and it will be easy to use with your Mac.

I'm having problems backing up my iphone 4 to icloud since 13/04/2012. First it says it's going to take 6 hours, then it says backup failed. Following instructions-connected to wi-fi, plugged into PC & locked the phone (though never had any problems like this before), but still no difference. Any ideas/similar problems?
unfortunately there are tons of people with this issue but Apple has not given any answers for us to fix this issue yet. I wish they would allocate more people to solving these problems when they roll out new versions of itunes along with new hardware.

You can sync/manually mange iphone with one and only one computer. If you sync/manually mange to anther, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

You need to do as provided. If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

Unless you're talking about a carrier on this list, you're going to have to work it out with them. It's possible their network is just not compatible. They are definitely not a supported carrier. -

Having said that, there is no way I personally would rely on that as the one and only backup of my pictures. I have my phone set to automatically backup via iCloud but I also periodically import all of my Camera Roll to my computer where I can visually verify that the pictures are in fact there (and where I can include them in my normal computer backup).
