Small Company looking for a LabVIEW consultant (remote consultant welcome)
Hello,
We are a small company looking for a LabVIEW consultant. This is about a 3-6 month project. The consultant must be familiar with NI hardware product as well. Please send me your resume/CV. In your email please state the following: years of experience, educational background, your hourly requirements, your location, and the amount of time you will be able to provide.
Please removes spaces on the email below.
int e g r at e d devi c e s @ yah oo. c o mI'm not sure if this is frequent on the NI forums, since I believe NI validates user information prior to issuing an account that allows them to post to the forum. But usernames (like mine) don't provide immediate identifications; you have to ask for it.
Apparently Job Scams have become more frequent. See the list of tips on the following site, (I have no relationship with this site. It just came up in a google search).
http://www.identityhawk.com/IdentityProtectionTips-inHonorof-LaborDay
5 Steps to Take Before Applying for a Job
1. Email - the company to get information about the job. Do not provide any personal information to them upfront.
2. Phone - speak to an official at the company and ask about the job. Be assured that it is legitimate.
3. Meet - at the company site to assure it is a real company. If you cannot meet, and the company is in your town, drive by to see the facility, (possibly using google maps to view the site).
4. Verify - see if you can find a person who has worked at the company or call a Chamber of Commerce of Better Business Bureau to assure the legitimacy of the company. Search online for legitimate information about the company, search online for any complaints of non-legitimacy. State Entity sites typically have the name of the company and how long they have been in business.
5. Apply - once you are assured the company is legitimate, it is safe to apply; but you should still not supply highly personal information like bank accounts until you are officially hired. -
Looking for a director consultant
Hello there!
I'm not sure if this is posted in the right place; if it's
not, please don't flame me -- just let me know and I'll remove it.
I am an academic, working with two colleagues to produce a
DVD-Rom for the academic market (we have a publishing contract with
a University Press). The project is basically a "chapter" format
with forward/back controls and a main menu. It includes Quicktime
video.
I'm the person responsible for actually authoring the project
in Macromedia Director, but I'm only an English professor, i.e.
enthusiastic amateur! I've got the files mostly assembled, but I'm
not confident of my ability to produce a fully professional title.
We are looking for a consultant to help us out with these things:
*** Working out how to implement a "bookmark this page"
function.
*** Work with me to understand what I need to be aware of
while completing the files. This might include giving me advice on
scripts to use for successful memory management, advice on what
quicktime codecs to use, advice on any other scripts I should
understand (e.g. how to change monitor res, preloading flash &
video, quicktime detection etc.).
*** Advice on how to pop up full-screen video, what Xtras I
will need, where to get them etc.
-- we are funding this through a university grant which
expires on November 30th, so the work needs to be invoiced by then.
We are also on a *very limited budget* by your standards - about
$6000.
If you think you can help, email me at

My company is looking for a consultant with NKE experience
Hi
My company need to write an NKE in order to port our product to OS X. We've studied the documentation and example NKE projects and know what to do and how to go about it.
However, that's in theory, when developing for an OS on which you have no experience its always slower, and obstacles are encountered, and you can't be 100% sure the design is optimal, or won't create unanticipated problems.
So we're looking for somebody with proven expertise in developing NKEs who may be interested in some paid consultancy work on a per-need basis, activities could be design review, code review, guru to ask questions if something unexpected happens etc.
We're based in Vancouver, Canada. If there is somebody nearby in the Pacific Northwest that would be ideal as it means face to face meetings are possible. But this isn't essential.
If you might be interested drop me a reply.niuniu wrote:

Hey, don't you need a favorable market opinion letter from the HRSDC before you can hire a non-Canadian? -

Looking for XSERVE consultant / remote help
I am a general IT consultant that has been tasked with preparing an XSERVE (OSX server 10.6) web server to run WordPress and some other PHP things with specific requirements. I need to update the PHP version so that it has the mcrypt library, as well as fix MySQL, that appears to be half working. There is also an existing site that cannot be broken. Then, I need to create a sub-domain for development. Is there anybody that can help me accomplish these tasks. I atempted to do my self, but immediately broke MySQL-- thankfully I cloned the system and was able to restore.
I would encourage you to look for a local certified partner here: http://consultants.apple.com.consultantlocater.com There is likely a qualified and capable service provider very close to your location that would be glad to help.
If you want to take another stab at this, probably the easiest path is to search for a MAMP package. If you are on 10.6 and using Apple's tools, you are behind on all pieces in MAMP (Mac OS X, Apache, Mysql, and PHP). While this will decouple the services from Apple's tools, you will be able to stay current and customize as needed without the fear of breaking everything. -

Looking for Siebel Consultant CC&S in Germany
Hello, my name is Cees Arends.
Currently I am in the role of Account Manager @ Aerotek GmbH in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. We are very busy working on many projects in both Engineering and IT accross Europe .
At the moment I look for a well qualified German speaking Siebel Consultant who could support in development and maintenance. The Siebel module in use is “Contact Center & Service”. Minimum required is development and/or customisation experience with that module. Siebel Version in use will most probably be Version 8.0.
Overall (relevant) experience with Siebel should be 3-5 years.
Please contact me if this can be an opportunity for you.
Best regards,
CeesHey Tony Thanks.
I am aware of this filter.
With a little experimentation I did achieve the effect I was more or less going for by simply adding a bezier shape of a half moon on top of my sphere, but under the mask. Then I used a radial black and white gradient on the bezier crescent shape and lowered the opacity down to allow the rotating earth continents to still show through. It works... However AE's CC Sphere filter is much handier and easier to use. I do prefer working in Motion more over AE, and little hurdles like these are great exercises.
Thanks. -
I'm looking for a consultant/expert....
I'm looking for a consultant to help me through the rough spots in HTML/CSS, Javascript, jQuery, php, and also with the Adobe suite of products. I'm visualizing just doing occasional phone consultation with a screen share by Adobe Connect or Joinme.com. Let ke know if you are this person, or know somebody like this. Consulting fee based, possibly a monthly retainer...
Hi McFrisco,
You'll get quite a bit of free expert help in this forum if you post specific questions and show us your code.
HTML, CSS & JavaScript are not hard concepts to learn on your own. PHP/MySql is more advanced and should be undertaken only after you have a working knowledge of the other three.
It would help us help you if you tell us something about yourself.
a) How much coding experience do you have?
b) What do you feel most & least comfortable with?
c) A brief description of your project goals.
d) A link to your site (if you have one).
I can only speak for myself but like most people here, I regularly donate time to this and other forums while simultaneously working on client projects. If you need a bit of hand holding while you work through tutorials, Adobe forums contain a pool of worldwide product users who are available 24/7. Owing to differences in time zones and other commitments, a private consultant might not be as convenient to reach when you have burning questions.
