im setting up istream but i think i have 2 apple ids .. my normal email and my phone says something differant

I too added 2nd apple ID when I tried to get Free app from apple store just to get to NONE on the credit card needed. It said it sent confirmation email to my new apple ID email that I have to confirm. Problem is I can not get to the new apple ID email account. On my ipad it logs into my original email account and I see no where to log into another email account. If I go to my laptop, the new apple ID I created does not let me log into email where apple said it was sent to. It did not send to back up email account either.
Can I log into 2 email accounts on my ipad where it says mail at bottom?
Can I have 2 apple ids?
If I created a 2nd apple id to get to NONE on credit card needed, can't I log into it also on another laptop in gmail?

If I used my original apple id I created when I got my new ipad, it will not let me get free app without credit card, there is no where it says NONE needed. I am too new to apple to start with credit cards etc until I get use to it.

I have set DELETE preferences but still don't have control!

I've read various posts and know exactly how to set my delete preferences to NEVER. Preferences/Accounts etc. So I have my trash set to never delete (vs one day, one week, one month)... but I only have the previous month's deleted email in the trash folder. Every day I check, and the corresponding day from a month ago is now the last date mail is saved. Anyone know what gives? The is the same on my home computer, and when I access Mac Mail from my computer at work.

Be wary of any advice I give about .mac, as I haven't used it ...
As far as I know, ,mac uses the imap protocol, so your mail messages are stored on a server (.mac). The deletion control settings you refer to are for mail stored in local mailboxes on your computer. I imagine it is possible to make similar settings in your account on the .mac server. Alternatively, download the mail from the server to your computer and the local settings will work - but then you won't have access to undeleted mail both at work and at home.

In the middle of setting up windows but I don't have the right product key

Is there a way to exit out of installing windows and get back to the mac screen?
I have emailed support and people that I need to contact to get a new product key but it may take a few days and I don't want to leave my Mac with the windows product key screen on the whole time.
(sorry I just got a mac and don't know a whole lot about them)

Emails imported from windows, must delete going back several years, but I think I have deleted them only to find that they pop up again. How do I delete totally the unwanted emails.

Assuming you are using Mail, delete them in mail and then empty the Mail's trash. Also check Mail - Preference - Accounts - Mailbox Behaviors - Trash setting

Smugmug plug-in failed to download to my PC but Adobe thinks I have it and I cannot re-download it.

When I downloaded the SmugMug app for LR, it didn't show up in my Download folder on my PC. Reviewing the Download History, it shows the download failed (it actually showed the file trying to be downloaded was Realistic Sky Gradients.zip which is not the SmugMug app obviously). Going onto my Plug-In page on the Adobe website, it shows i have received the Plug-in, so it won't let me re-download it to my PC.

And I am saying - download it from SmugMug.
Or, if you insist: click the [View my Addons] button and remove it. Then, re add it.

I just bought Photoshop and Illustrator, but I think I have two Creative Cloud accounts as well?

I didn't mean to get two Cloud accounts and I need to figure out how to get the serial numbers for Photoshop and Illustrator so that I can use them. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm working on a couple of logos, so I could really use the help soon. Thanks!

Does your Cloud subscription show on your account page?

Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work

Docx file association is set up correctly but does not display Word icon when viewing in Explorer

Problem with MS Word as part of MS Office 2007 Professional Plus running on Windows 7.
When I view a folder in Windows Explorer all docx files show up with a plain white icon, not a Word icon. I have done the following:
Start > Control Panel > Default Programs > Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
Then scrolled down the display and selected the docx extension - it already shows as Microsoft Office Word - clicked on Change Program, reset the program to WordPad, then back in the display clicked on the Change Program icon again. This tiime I reset it
to Microsoft Office Word.
However when I go back into Explorer the icon has not changed. Even if I close it down and restart it again. And even after a reboot.
Also, I have checked the individual properties of the docs files, using Explorer, and they do say Open With Microsoft Word. So no problem there either.
Any suggestions welcome as to how to change it so the icon displayed is Word not blank.

The reason seems to be that icons stored have for some reason disappeared (inexplicably?). The solution is also stupidly simple after i've tried every suggestion in this thread.
1) go to start menu and search for: cmd
2) right click on cmd and choose "run as administrator" (--> this causes command line to change from C:\users\<account name> to change to: C:\windows\system32).
3) turn off everything you are doing after saving your work because now you will be closing explorer.exe
4) in the command line enter each command separately and with enter following each line
taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F
CD /d %userprofile%\AppData\Local
DEL IconCache.db /a
shutdown /r
5) after the restart, everything should be back to normal.
This is a complete fix for the problem and not a work around and I can verify that it worked for me. Good luck all.

Cloud thinks I have Flash builder installed, so i cant download and install it

I found a way to get to my data. So do not need remedy at this time.
fwiw, I changed my ios7.04 setup answer of restore from itunes to new iphone. Eventually that allowed me to set up icloud, then turn off find iphone, restore. Very strange ios update.

Quando termino meus trabalhos desligo o imac e depois quando retorno pra trabalhar novamente e ligo, ele não se conecta a Airport Time Capsule, impossibilitando retirar os arquivos e fazer o back-up pelo Time Machine, só funciona quando desligo e ligo a Airport Time Capsule, mas acho que isso pode acabar com o aparelho. In the airport utility bring up your Time Capsule.

Please also make sure you are set to ipv6 in your wireless or ethernet .. whichever is used.. and do tell which.
This is wifi in your computer.
The following are important..
DO not use long names with spaces and non-alphanumeric names.
Use short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.
eg TC name. TCgen5
Wireless name TCwifi
Use WPA2 Personal security with 10-20 character pure alphanumeric password.
read apple instructions to help with TM and TC.. they did finally admit it has issues in Mavericks.
