I'm stuck on IOS 7.1 Beta 2 I cant restore because Find my iPhone is activated on it and Apple has stopped signing IOS7.1 BETA 2 and my itouch is stuck on the activate screen. Any suggestions? Thanks itouch 5 G Ios 7.1 beta 2

You say you have iOS 7 beta. If you are a developer you have access to the private OS 7 developer's forum

First Generation ipad stuck on ios 5.1.1. I am not able to update to a newer version because it believes the Ipad is at its most update version.

Hello all,
My mother in law has recently acquired a new ipad and has given me her first generation ipad. Very excited! I have run into an issue though... The ipad is unable to update to the newest version of ios and is stuck on ios 5.1.1. Whether I plug the ipad in or try to update via wifi, it prompts me that it is running on the most up to date version.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Can anyone help me fix the issue?

I'm having problems as well. We have an enterprise account, and I had 6.1b4 loaded. It's now trying to activate the device, but eventually fails with an error that it cannot reach the registration servers (temporarily unavailable).
The device is listed in my Dev Center. I downloaded b5, but it's greyed out in XCode (4.6 4H112f) organizer which tells me:
This device is expired and cannot be used with the iOS SDK.
Please install a newer version of the OS.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.0.1. For the iPad Mini the iOS is 6.0.2. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can't update your iPhone to iOS 7 beta unless you are a registered developer with Apple. iOS 7 will not be available to the public until this Fall, so if you are not a developer you'll just have to wait like the rest of us until it is released.
If you are a deveoper then go and ask this question in your own private deveoper forums and don't discuss anything to do with beta software in a public user forum - you are violating the terms of the NDA that you signed.
It does not sound as if you are a developer, so what you are doing would amount to downloading and installing illegal software on your phone.

Why am I seeing ios 6.1 beta 4 when I do a software update?

I have been trying to do an over the air update of my iOS on my Verizon iPhone 4S from version 6.0.1 to 6.1 and everytime I go into Settings -> General -> Software Update, I am only offered iOS 6.1 beta 4. This is a work phone, so I really don't want to put a beta version of the OS on my phone. I didn't have this issue on my 4th gen iPad when I tried to update last night.

I have the same problem with an iPhone 4. I am not a developer and I certainly don't want to install the beta version. Reseting the phone did not help.

iOS 4.2 is for developer testing, not for production. Remember that beta software is not final production (gold master) of the iOS, and can still have issues that are yet to be resolved before going GM. Officially it is only to be installed on devices that are dedicated to development testing for 4.2.

The iPad 1 can only be updated to iOS 5.1.1. This is unlikely to change.
The apps you have will continue to work and there are still many apps which run on iOS 5 (or even earlier iOS levels).

Sky don't support beta OSes so if you really want your app working before September at the earliest (I doubt it will be any sooner), you'll have to restore iOS 8.4, Sky are well known for taking their time.

You will probably get several comments from some of the developers that hang out here about moving the question to the developer's forum. Not many of those using the Betas will comment on them on here due to non-disclosure agreement with Apple.

It was downloaded through my iTunes account... So im sure it wasn't pirated. It's nothing more than a beta test to work out the bugs. But do u have any suggestions as to how i can about redownloading the same iOS but now the 'bugs' should be all worked out....
