Im trying to erase all the data on my iPhone, it has been on the shutting down screen for about 10 minutes will it ever cut back on

After I clicked erase all data on my iPhone 4S it has been on the shutting down screen for over 10 minutes.. Will it ever cut back on?

Sounds like we have a similar problem.  Four days ago I was playing music through a wireless Bose speaker via bluetooth and everything was fine.  Then I was texting while listening and got 2 texts about the same time as I was typing one and my phone went black.  I pushed the home button and it worked, went into my texts and all were there.  However ever since then the time isn't right, so it can't keep time no matter what I do.  The bluetooth works only at times, the wifi keeps jumping on and off, sometimes my data won't work and the other day I couldn't even turn it off, so had to wait until it died.  The battery life display at that moment wasn't correct either.  Took to Verizon, they couldn't help.  Suggested a factory reset, which I did last night and still the same issues!  One day I couldn't even text my husband on his iPhone.  Just wouldn't work at all.  Did everything suggest and still not good.  Seems like after stalking these pages today a lot of people are having this problem in Dec/Jan and of course also I'm 3 weeks out of my 1 year warranty and so were many others, by days.  Very strange, and all on the 5C.  What did you do?  Is it working now?

  • I have downloaded The Final by Wham (Deluxe edition) and most of the Videos only Play for about 2 minutes then freeze

    Hi all
I am new to iphone and have just bought Wham The Final (deluxe edition) which includes all there videos.
When i go to play the videos they play for about 2 minutes then they just freeze. Club tropicana does not even play at all.
I have other video purchases which all play fine.
Is there anywhere in itunes where you can re-download?
    Thanks in advance

It's probably the new 'taste filter' trying to keep you from emberrasing yourself in public. Try playing them when you're alone. If it detects no one else is in the room, it may allow you to view them.
Seriously... Do they play in iTunes on your computer? If they're in your iTunes library, un-sync them from the phone, then sync them back.

  • My 4th gen iPod won't turn on, just plays the shutting down screen forever

I have a 4th gen ipod, 8gb, and it hasn't really given me problems until the past few days, it's been crashing constantly and freezing. Now it has shut down and when I turn it on it is just stuck on the shutting down screen. I've tried holding down home and power, it shuts off, then just turns right back on and does the same thing. I drained the battery, and it showed the normal screen for being dead, then when I plug it in, it starts up with the shut down screen again. Something similar happened to one of my friends so she just wrote it off as being "completely dead" and gave up. (But I don't want to just give it up because basically my only pictures of my cat that passed away are on it, and I don't have iCloud) Also, I thought maybe it was because my version was 5.1.1, I never updated because I didn't want the youtube app to be gone. Is there anything left I can try or is it completely done for?

I had the exact same problem with my ipod and the way i got out of it was i connected it to my pc - mac works too.- then when it turn on i held only the power button for about 10-60 seconds until it finally shutoff then i basically put it in dfu mode ( if you don't already know what it is and how to do it i will explain that after) and my pc recconized it in dfu mode and after waiting about 5 min unplug from your pc or mac and if it doesnt already show the power screen on then turn it on and it should work if it just goes to recovery mode then repeat the steps for putting it in dfu mode just without pluging it in.
Here's how to put it in DFU mode. First just hold the power and home screen botton for 10 seconds or until you see it flash. Next you let go of the HOME BOTTON ONLY while still holding the power botton down for a good 20-25 seconds then you can let go and your done!   *Note: if you have it plug in to a pc or mac you will also see something saying your pc/mac is recognizing your ipod in DFU mode.
Hope it helps with your problem! (^∇^)

  • Zen Micro locks up on the Shutting Down screen -intermittent prob

Since buying the Zen Micro in December, it has failed to shut down after I push the shut down button. It shows the SHUTTING DOWN screen, but that stays on forever (until battery dies or I pull the battery). The problem is intermittent. Sometimes the unit shuts down correctly. After nothing would fix it, Creative sent a replacemnt. Well the replacement does the same thing. I just upgraded to the new Firmware that came out this week, but that didn't solve the problem. It must be something that I am doing wrong. There is no pattern to when it will shut down and when it won't (plugged in versus not, different batteries, different screens, etc). Has anyone else had this problem?

I have contacted Creative Customer Support and as usual all you get back is an automated email telling you to reboot this and reload that. I then contacted Creative in Sydney and they have told me to bring it in and they will swap it for another unit. If the next one does it I will demand a refund. I will have to check out a few Ipod forums to see if these peole are having the troubles Creative customers seem to have. I was going to ask for an upgrade to the Zen Microphoto but I can see by this forum that they are full of bugs as well. Technology is a wonderful thing.

  • I recently found my Ipod touch 1st generation and was trying to erase all the content on the ipod.  It now won't turn on at all, it looks like it is working but it just never goes to the homescreen.  any ideas?

I have tried connecting it to the computer and that doesn't seem to work either.  At this point I do not know what else to do.  Can anyone help me get this Ipod touch fixed?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My HP 8200 elite hang up on the HP splash screen for almost 3 minutes.

I have tried disabling startup items in msconfig and still did the same thing. I can't get into the bios on startup.
This is an HP 8200 Elite. I recently upgraded to Win 8, but this problem was there before that. I have tried finging a newer version of the bios (mine is v02.21) but don't have any luck trying to find one. This is an annoying problem that I would rather not have to deal with. Any advise?

    Hey DickTimm,
I would suggest with a severe hang like that at the splash screen before and after the upgrade to Windows 8, there may be a hard drive issue. The symptoms you both describe are classic symptoms of a dying hard drive. Here are the steps to run the Start Up Test (taken from here):
Complete the following steps to open HP System Diagnostics:
    Turn off the computer.
Use one of the following methods:
Turn on the computer and immediately press the F2 key repeatedly, about once every second, until the HP System Diagnostics program opens.
    OR
Turn on the computer and immediately press the Escape key repeatedly, about once every second, until the Startup menu opens. Then press F2 .
The System Diagnostics window allows you to run several diagnostic tests. Each test determines if the hardware is functioning properly, and displays an error message and a warranty ID if there is a hardware failure.
    4. Choose the Start Up Test and post the results in your reply.
The SMART Check, Short DST, and Optimized DST all test the hard drive. If any of those fail, the hard drive will need to be replaced.
I believe that your latest BIOS driver is 2.60 Rev 3. I would need your product number to be able to verify that. Here are the steps to find your exact product number. If you could give me your product number, I'll provide you with a direct link to the latest BIOS driver for your particular computer.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if these suggestions helped (this could help others with similar issues). I'll keep an eye out for your reply!

  • Hi Today I Bought a Brand New iPhone 5s And It Woked Fine For About 3 Hours And Then It Just Shut Itself Down, It Goes To The Apple Logo Then To The Loading Screen For About 15 Minutes And Then It Shows A Blue Screen And Then Repeats Please Help!

I Was Really Excited About My New Phone And Now It Is Just Completely Messed Up. It Shut Itself Down After About 3 Hours Of Use And Now It Just Goes From Apple Boot Logo, To Loading Screen, To Blue Weird Screen, And Then It Goes Back To The Boot Logo. When I Plug It Into My Computer It Recognizes The Phone But It Doesnt Show Up In iTunes 11 PLEASE HELP

Can you do a Reset by holding the Sleep button and the Home button at the same time for about 20 seconds?

  • My Ipod touch just downloaded IO6 but when I press the music button it goes to an entirely white screen for about a minute then reverts to the main ipod screen.  I cannot access my music or podcasts.  Have restarted both.  What should I do?

Computer and Ipod have both been restarted.  Video has the same white screen problem.  THIS IS NOT THE WHITE SCREEN OF DEATH - just when I press the music or video button.

    - Try connecting to comutr and then try to restor.
    - If still white screen, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an hour try the reset and restore again.

  • Premiere CC somehow erased all the in/out points for all project subclips

I've been editing a project for over a couple of weeks now, and the first thing I did was go through all of the raw footage (a lot of it was interview footage) and make subclips out them for the 'beats'/segments and to separate the b-roll footage in long files. This worked great, and I almost completely had the project edited in the sequence and was down to little tweaks to clean it up when I opened the project today and wanted to go back and add a subclip I hadn't used. I clicked on the subclip to open it in the Source viewer, and the source file opened without the in/out markers. Just the subclip source. No subclip.
I started clicking through all of the others too. Hundreds of subclips, some used in the sequence, some not - all suddenly stripped of all in/out data. All of them merely referenced the entire, long source clips.
How in the hell is this even possible? That's at least a couple days worth of logging work just GONE.
I'm using fully updated versions of CC apps, as well as the Mac OS on a 2011 MacBook Pro and editing off a LaCie Rugged Drive.

Nested sequences can do that, since they are references to another sequence. Specifically if you open a nest by double clicking on it in the new sequence, change in and out to make another edit, your changes may reflect on your new timeline.

  • My i phone screen is white, i tried the reset, then the restore - it worked for about 15 minutes now i have the white screen again. please advise

My iphone had a white screen - i did reset then restore, it worked for a while during the restore process, but it now back to white/pink screen. Please advise

There are no more user troubleshooting steps available. Make an appointment at any Apple store. Sounds like a hardware failure, & if so you will be offered an out of warranty exchange. Cost is US $149.

  • After updating to iOS 8.0.2 my iPhone is stuck in a loop of showing me the loading apple logo for about a minute, then the screen goes blue and the process starts over.

I can turn the iPhone off by holding down the power button and releasing when i see the blue screen. I have tried to restore the iPhone in iTunes by putting it into recovery mode, but after about 10-20 minutes of it restoring the iPhone suddenly looses connection with the computer and goes back into the loop process. What should i do?

    Hello Simmo1997,
Sorry to hear about your issue but let’s see if we can get your iPhone back up in running. If your iPhone is disconnecting when trying to restore then check out the article below to get you started with isolating the issue. Let me know if it gets resolved or if you discover a new symptom.

  • When I start Firefox, my computer slows to a crawl; the problem is that between every operation, the disk reads/writes for about a minute.

I have an old (~6 yrs) HP laptop running Win XP. I've scanned for viruses, deleted temp files, etc, and defraged the hard drive. After doing a fresh boot, all works OK until I start Firefox (3.6.6), and then every mouse click sends the hard drive into read/write mode for up to a minute. Just writing this memo has taken eight minutes; going to my bank site and setting up a transfer (about 12 mouse clicks) took 16 minutes (!).
Things other than Firefox continue to be plagued by the same problems, after starting and closing Firefox. Opening an Explorer window can take up to three minutes. Closing Firefox doesn't seem to solve the problem - I need to reboot to do that.
    Any thoughts?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode (above). Wait a few minutes, then close Firefox.
    Is there still a problem?

  • The screen on my iPhone 4 went black and randomly started vibrating nonstip for about 3 minutes. It has stopped and now won't turn on. Has anyone else had this problem? What should I do?

I've tried to charge it and i've tried to reset it but it won't even connect to iTunes. Please help!

Don't know why it happened, but if you can't enter the passcode, you'll have to restore the phone to remove it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212.  If you're running iOS 7 with Find My iPhone enabled, you'll have to force it into recover mode to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808.

  • HT1349 my iphone is stuck on this screen that has the "loading circle" on it. its been on this screen for about 30 minutes.. cant get it off????

    ???

Try plugging it up to your computer and launching iTunes and either resetting it to factory settings or resetting to last sync. Hopefully it just noticing it's plugged up to iTunes will fix it. This happened to my friend once and all she had to do was plug it into her computer and that fixed it.
