Im trying to free up space on my Iphone 5s. I have over 5gb of data in my quick voice app and want to back that up on my computer and delete from my phone. I'm an ex samsung user and completely lost.
I have just recently started filling up space on my phone and need to keep it free for photos. I just downloaded Itunes and can back up photos, but it won't take my quick voice recordings.
Are you sure you're backing up your photos and not importing them to your computer?
If you're backing up to iTunes, then the app data is part of the backup.

How can I stop music and movies from being automatically deleted from my phone and saved on the cloud? I've just tried to watch a movie on my 2 hour commute, but yet AGAIN it has been removed. But in terms of my initial query; thanks for responding. But no, this is NOT the cause of the problem. I have auto sync and sync over wifi activated, but have also selected manually manage music and videos. Plus, all of my music and videos are on my macbook, absolutely all of it, so if it my phone was syncing with my macbook everything would still be on the phone. Life would be peachy if my phone jsut copied everything that was on my macbook, but unfortuantely it keeps deleting tracks for no apparent reason.
Any thoughts greatly welcomed, because at the moment i can only conclude that my iphone is crap. -
I have all my music in iTunes and have "Music Match" turned on. Apparently, I also have music on my iPhone 5. I need to free up space on my iPhone. If I delete the music on my iPhone, will it still be available to me on my phone via the cloud?
The same is true for photo's. I have too many photo's on my phone taking up space. Now I realize I can remove a lot of the photo's via sync options, but ...This can happen if iTunes gets confused about what is and isn't on the device. These steps should resolve.
Backup the device.
Restore as a new device.
Restore the backup made earlier.

I keep getting an error when trying to update an app- cannot connect to store. I logged out from my account and tried to log back in and got the same error. I am doing all this from my phone since I no longer own a personal computer (only work) since I use iCloud and I tunes match

The nice part is that I work remotely, so I only have to wake up 15 minutes or so before the meeting.... I just bought a macbook pro and I want to know how to restore pictures that were backed up on iCloud but then deleted from my phone. Isn't that the point of the backup so I can delete and make more space. Please help!
Log into the iCloud on your MacBook Pro and enable Photo Stream:
Then launch iPhoto and set iPhoto's Photo Stream preferences to the following:
Then check the Photo Stream section of iPhoto:
This is to confirm that the photos are still in Photo Stream. If they are they will be imported into the library.
NOTE: not all photos in an iPhone will be in the Photo Stream. PS only keeps photos in it for 30 days.
If you have the missing photos in your library put them in an album. Connect your iPhone to the Mac and open iTunes. In iTunes you can select that album in the library and sync the photos to your iPhone to get them back on the iPhone.

The process is just like deleting an unwanted email in your inbox. Simply find the track(s) you don’t want on your iOS 5 device anymore, slide your finger over the track listing to the left or the right to reveal a hidden “delete” button, and then select “delete” and the track is gone. Unfortunately there’s no mass delete option, so those Backstreet Boys songs are gonna have to be deleted one at a time. -

I am unable to free up space on my iphone 5c to install the latest softwere.
If you connect your iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable and use iTunes to update the operating system the download will go to the Mac's hard drive and get installed from there instead of saving the updater on the iPhone.
How much free space do you have on your iPhone? If it gets too low you'll have problems taking additional photos, videos, etc. -
Deleted contacts from my phone & they auto deleted from other phone. How do I get them back?
Just updated my iPhone 4 and my GF's iPhone 4 to the new OS, we share the same Apple ID and subsequently linked both phones to the same iCloud account (I will be using separate clouds from this point forward). However, after the update all of her contacts where in my phone so I deleted all of them and due to the cloud they all deleted from her phone.
So, I have previously backed up (not just synched) her phone to iTunes but I was hoping for clarification on exactly to restore her phone from iTunes and recover all of her contacts. i carnt hear my message tone,the sound it makes when the phone locks and opens,also i am unable to hear music when playing from my phone but my ringtone and alarm tone work.Ive made sure the silent button is not on,and the volume button on the side of the phone is just showing it blank instead of it going up and down.To try and fix this i have reset my settings and restored my phone,but now its just skipping the music i have purchased from itunes when in a docking station which is now another problem i have as well.Can anyone help????

It sounds like even though the Mute switch is not on, sounds are not making the, well, sound they should, and the volume buttons make a blank volume indicator appear on the screen that does not show the volume level.
I wanted to recommend a couple of things.
First, I would reset the phone:
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

If that does not resolve the issue, then you may want to try backing up to iTunes, and restoring the iPhone again but this time do not restore the backup and set it up as new to see if the issue persists without the previous configuration.

Also this works when one of us downloads an app it appears on the other iphoneYou need to use separate iCloud accounts. This will mean that you can both have your own separate contracts and calendars and put an end to them being deleted by each other.
Whether or not you have a separate iTunes account, is up to you. If you have a separate iTunes accounts you will not be able to access the music, books, apps that have been purchased by the other. This may be exactly what you want, but it also means that you both may end up purchasing the same item. -

You can't link your Apple IDs, all you need to do is use the same ID on all devices and your contacts etc will sync. -
I want to make all my caller id pics full screen how do i do that? When i download a picture from my phone it makes it full screen then it goes back to the small photo in the upper right hand corner how do i make them stay full screen help please:-)
@Naiks, having suffered through unsuccessful synching attempts for Calendar and Contacts myself, l would suggest you try the following:
UNINSTALL iCloud control panel from your PC. Seems silly, but do it.
Go into Outlook, and look at the very top menu. Click FILE, then ACCOUNT SETTINGS, then click the popup box.
You will see a list of all your email accounts. Make sure that ONE of them has a checkmark against it. If not, select the account your want as your default, and click "set as default.
Exit out of Outlook and reboot your machine.
Now reinstall iCloud, check CALENDAR and CONTACTS, and do as instructed when prompted.
Reboot for good luck and now launch OUTLOOK. All that remains is to locate your iCloud Contacts and Calendar files, and make them your default.
IMPORTANT: Don't panic if you can't find your contacts -- they're there. Click CONTACTS and you'll see you have several available contact files. Locate the one label "iCloud" in grey type. Right-click on it, select PROPERTIES, then click the Outlook Address Book tab. Check the box that says something like "Make this my default Outlook Address Book." Keep clicking "apply" and "okay" until you've exited out of the dialog box maze.
You may have to do something similar with your Calendar files. I dd not, but if you need to, do it.
Everything should now sync pretty seamlessly.
I didn't have the exact same problem as you, but my dilemma was close enough. Good luck!
