Im trying to update my billing info but apple wont accept my debit card

I spent 5 dollars on a app on my phone. It didnt ask me for anything about my debit card then. Now one of my apps needs to be updated. It asked me to sign in and update my billing info. I go i change my security code and the experation. I also made sure everything else was correct and it was. When i pressed done it said "your payment method was declined". I checked my bank to see if i have money and i do lol but it wont accept my new debit card and im about to do some stupid **** because im ******

Debit cards are no longer accepted in the iTunes Store, it seems. The current valid payment methods are listed here:

Using a debit card in any online service where it stores your card is a bad idea in any case since if someone gains access to your account in the service, they can quickly drain your bank account. Credit cards limit your liability, as do prepaid iTunes cards. But if you insist, you can contact the iTunes Store and ask if they can help:

We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know why unless you give us some more info e.g. if you are getting an error message then what does the message say, and what sort of card is it, debit or credit ?

If you're positive the information is correct, ask the issuing bank why the transaction is being rejected.
You're getting this error because the store can not authorize the card with your bank.

When I try to update or download anything a window pops up saying to check my billing info or that there was a billing problem, so when I tried to delete my NGO and cha ge it to none there was no option for that. Yes. You need to correct the billing descrepancy before you can use the iTunes store. Write down what error you are getting, and open a support request at expresslane.apple.com for the iTunes store. They can check the issue and get a solution for you.

I have had the same issue, I contacted iTunes support. I was then told I had to contact my bank to see if there is any defaults, which there wasnt. I have funds on my card and they said that I have an outstanding amount. I have to purchase an iTunes gift card to clear this.
They dont tell you that you cant purchase an iTunes gift card through the iTunes store even with another apple ID.

Trying to upgrade to Ap. 2 but it wont accept my Aperture 1 Serial No.

Trying to install my aperture 2 upgrade software but it rejects my original aperture 1 serial number.

I had the same problem and I phoned Support, who were great!
My version of Aperture 1 was "pre-loaded" as a sweetener when I bought my machine several years ago. When I tied to upgrade, it said the A1 number was invalid.
It turns out that the number has migrated onto the net so has been scrapped as a valid number by Apple.
They said that if I could provide a copy of my receipt, they would fix things.... but after three years and 3 house moves, it's long gone!
Bottom line, phone support.... they're really helpful.

Im wondering why my post hasn't been answered yet. I did file a report with the BBB and I had a rude representative from Verizon call me named Steve. He said I can file all of the reports I want and I will just keep getting calls from him. I can understand why my phone couldn't be replaced because of the small crack. I guess I have to eat that one (but it sucks because the lollipop update is what caused the problems) but what about all of the data overage I had to pay for for trying to fix this phone because of a lollipop update. I dont think it is fair to have to pay that as well. In addition, because I have an east coast phone number but live on the west coast, I cannot have tech support after 8pm. Verizon has cut this off. The 'charge' is temporary, each time that you change the card details on your account a temporary store holding charge may be applied to check that the card details are correct and valid and that it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account - it should disappear off your account within a few days or so.

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
