Imac 17 inch wanna format but no cd and password.

I have bought a used imac 17 inch,after i bought the system the told me i need to format to change the user settings were as he does'nt have the OS X cd and the password.i have tried the tips found on the net ,but nothing works .can someone tell me were can i buy this OS X cd or show me how to format this system without CD or Password.

You can't erase the internal drive without an installation DVD or other system and still have an usable computer. Phone Apple Support and order replacements, or purchase a retail DVD compatible with your machine.

No bootable bakup/clone or Time Machine backup? No initial install discs? If no to both of those, call 1-800-MY-APPLE and request replacement discs for that machine. They're available for a nominal S&H charge.

You might try the following steps:
Restart the device by holding down the on/off button until the power down slider appears.
Try entering your password in another location (i.e. when you are using a different wifi network)
Reset all settings (settings > general > reset), this resets some of your settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. It removes all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy. It does not remove any of your data.
Try signing out of iCloud and back in (only if find my phone is disabled)
If this doesn’t help your best option may be to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.

Logitech z906 5.1 surround sound and iMac 27 inch-how do i set up and get surround sound?

I just purchased logitech z906 surround sound 5.1 speakers and also have the new imac 27 inch fully loaded.
My only concern prior to receiving my speakers, will I be able to hook it up with my computer? Do i need any extra external HDMI cables or what not?
Sorry, Im not tech savvy so please adivse in lay english, and non-technical wording.
I will appreciate everyone's input and also will take any brand name suggestions as to if I will need to buy any other supplies to truly enjoy these speakers.

If you have a 2010 + MacBook Pro, then you will be able to play audio/video via the MiniDisplay Port to HDMI. You can purchase an adapter from here, or a 3rd party adapter from here.

It's probably that your Keychain password is not the same as your login password. If you configured your computer to log you in automatically, you may not have used your login password in so long you forgot it.
There is no way to retrieve the "login" Keychain password, but you can reset the Keychain from the Preferences menu: select it in the Keychain Access menu and select "Reset My Default Keychain". This will create a new, empty Keychain but the old one will be saved should you ever remember its password.
The result of this is that you will have to supply passwords for everything that requires it, since without your Keychain they will no longer automatically fill themselves. However, once you supply them and store them in your new Keychain, they will be remembered.

Windows 7 OK on Imac 27-inch (late 2009) but NO sound

I managed to successfully install Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit using boot camp through the drivers download (late 2009 imac 27inch drivers) from a USB drive. HOWEVER there is NO sound at all. When using MACOSX on the same machine, all is OK. According to Windows, drivers are OK.
Have installed relative Realtek drivers to no avail. Some say Cirrus logic are OK, but cannot find them.
1. where in the Apple "late 2009 imac 27inch drivers" files are the sound drivers ?
2. which drivers do I need considering apple does not indicate manufacturer of sound card ?

iMacs do not use standard graphcis cards as used in typical tower computers. They use a special version that is a very strange-looking bit of kit:

I have a new apple ID working on my iMac with the new and correct e-mail address. I thought I could use the same apple ID on my iPhone, but no way. You can't write to it because it's formatted as NTFS which OS X will read but not write to. If you want to continue using the drive with both a PC and OS X you will need to download and install NTFS-3G so you can then write to it from your Mac. You can get NTFS-3G at:

If you want to use the drive exclusively with your Mac then move the data off it and reformat it in Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utilities) as Mac OS Extended (Journaled.)
