IMAC 2007 Compatible with 2.5 OCZ agility SSD?

Hello I was wondering if anyone knew wether the IMAC 2007 is compatible with the 2.5 OCZ agility SSD please.

I figured this out after alot of time reading. Basicly any ssd drive will work. The 2007 imac uses SATA2 and I inistalled a SATA 3 drive and it works fine. If you end up with a smaller sized drive just make sure it has a mounting bracket. It fits just a bit loose.

    Thanks,
    KANE

    Hi KANE,
all Intel-Macs, with the exception of the Mac Pro, use the same kind of RAM-Modules .
Specs are: 200-pin DDR2 SDRAM SO-DIMMs up to 1.25” in height. The SO-DIMMs must be DDR2-667 (PC2-5300) compliant and must be unbuffered, unregistered, 8-byte, nonparity, and non-ECC.
    So feel free to swap.

  • Is Outlook 2007 compatible with Office 365?

Is Outlook 2007 compatible with Office 365? The Office 365 will be part of Windows 2012 Essentials.

As of the time I am writing this, outlook 2007 still works (but I can personally attest that the experience isn't great.) By the time you read this, that can change and it may not work anymore. Microsoft only guarantees compatibility wothnoffoce
products in mainstream support. So that is 2010 and 2013 (or 365 Pro Plus equivalents.) 2007 is only in extended support, so MS has no guarantees or obligation to maintain compatibility, and they *specifically* call out 2007 support in their supported client
    documentation.

I did buy Quicken Essentials, which, I was told, was the solution for Mac/Maverick OS.  Except then you have to 'convert' all your data, and the conversion tool just won't work.
Now another $15 and maybe it will and maybe it won't work?  Gosh, there has to be a better solution!
Look in the App Store under top selling financial apps. You will find that iBank, MoneyWell, etc, get pretty good reviews. I consider quicken to have abandoned the Mac platform over 5 years ago. In my opinion Quicken Essentials is an abomination. No matter what you decide to do you will almost surely have to convert your Quicken data file to another format.

  • Is Mac Pro 2007 compatible with new 6Gb/s SSD harddrive?

    Hi,
I'm using my old Mac Pro from 2007 for music production. It works very well, but I want to upgrade it with a new SSD harddrive.
Is the Mac Pro from 2007 compatible with a new SSD SATA 6GB/s harddrive, like a Crucial MX100?
As I see it, there are three possibilities:
    1) It will run fine.
    2) It will run, but only on half the speed (3GB/s).
    3) It will not run.
    What will happen?
    Thanks for helping me out.
    All the best,
    Anders from Denmark

    RE: SATA Bus speed:
Most Rotating drives available today, whatever their SATA spec, can source data off the spinning platters no faster than about 125MBytes/sec.
SATA 3 is rated at 6G bits/sec, which theoretically is about 750 Mega Bytes/sec
SATA 2 is rated at 3G bits/sec, which is theoretically about 375 Mega Bytes/sec
SATA 1 is rated at 1.5G bits/sec, which is theoretically about 187.5 Meg Bytes/sec
None of the SATA Busses is a bottleneck for consumer Rotating drives you can buy today. Trying to speed up the SATA Bus will not provide any real-world performance increases for Rotating Drives.
Even most common SSD drives are not bottlenecked by SATA 2.

  • Is Quicken 2007 compatible with Mountain Lion?

I'm using a beloved MacBook Pro laptop running Lion.I cannot upgrade to Mountain Lion. I have been using Quicken and have accummulated 13 years of financial data. I need a new MacBook Pro laptop and would like to know if my Quicken data can be transferred to the new laptop and whether or not the revised Quicken 2007 is compatible with Mountain Lion. Thank you.

http://roaringapps.com/app:5626 says yes.  Clone backup your machine before upgrading incase you run into anything else that might be incompatible.  More tips to avoid Mountain Lion pitfalls:

  • B75A-G43 board with OCZ Agility SSD

Thought I would challenge my self to building a new PC!
All has been going very well and all seems to be working well EXCEPT when I try and add anything else to the board like a CD drive or another HDD. Then troubles begin. Basically everything freezes up, CD's won't load and the SSD light stays on continuously. I have no idea if this is a SSD issue or a motherboard issue, but it is rather frustrating.
If it is of any help, I have done a clean install of Windows 7. For this the CD drive worked fine with the board and loaded Windows onto the SSD no problem. It seems once all is done, adding any other drive causes issues.
SATA settings are on AHCI and I have tried other drives, cables and PSU's
I have also updated the board to latest BIOS and everything else via Live Update.
    Thanks for your help.
    PC details:
    Board: B75A-G43
    Intel i3 chip
    8GB RAM
    Windows 7 32 bit
    OCZ Agility 3 SSD
    Sony CD/DVD drive

Many thanks for those tips which I carried out.
I thought I'd load windows onto a normal HDD I had from an old setup to see if the same thing happened as this would then take the SSD out of the equation potentially as being the problem. Sure enough, the same thing happens so not sure the SSD is the issue.
Also, I can't help feeling that this is significant: when booting with the bits I ideally want attached to the motherboard, 'A2' comes up bottom right corner of the screen and stays there for quite a while before I see the motherboard flash screen and then eventually boots to windows. If however I just have the drive with windows attached on its own, you don't get this 'A2' delay and the boot is very fast. Surely this must mean something to someone?

  • IaStor Event ID 9 error with T420s and OCZ-Agility3

Hello, I need your help, as I've been battling this issue for the last 3 days and I'm extremely frustrated.
I'm running a Lenovo T420s (4170CTO) and replaced the IDE HD with a SSD OCZ-Agility3.
I am getting iaStor Event ID9 error in my system event log, with the system constantly freezing, halting, chocking, usually for about 5 minutes, then it unlocks itself, or at times never recovering.
I flashed the OCZ Drive Firmware to the latest 2.08
I flashed the Bios of the Lenovo 420s to 1.13
I also started over by cloning the default Lenovo install from the original drive onto the SSD so all lenovo install drivers are present. I also updated all the drivers, including the latest Intel Rapid Story Technology driver for the Intel Mobile Express Chipset SATA AHCI Controller.
Please let me know if you have advice on how to resolve the iaStor error. Very furstrating, the combo of the laptop and the SSD is extremely fast when it works, but the frequent crashes and lock ups are making me go nuts.
    Thanks,
    Ivan.

have you tried disable Intel Link Power Management (LPM)?  it fixes some iaStor timeout errors for certain SSD.

  • Is Mac Pro (purchased in 2007) compatible with Windows 7

The support page says that the following is not supported for use with Windows 7
Mac Pro (Mid 2006, Intel Xeon Dual-core 2.66GHz or 3GHz)
I purchased my Mac Pro in late 2007 and it has 2 Intel Xeon Dual-core 3GHz processors. Does this mean that I can't use Windows 7 on this Mac Pro?

Install is fine once you get past the boot screen.
And it is usually only 64-bit (I tried 32-bit and Apple's EFI limited us to 2GB RAM only, which is PITA).
This is where I first learned of possible solutions -

  • What iMacs are compatible with Airport Extreme 802.11g?

I am switching my question from the PPC iMac forum to here, hoping I can find the answers.  I am trying to figure out which used 20" iMac will work for me, and a key element is that I need to limit the wireless to the 802.11g spec.
    (1) do all Intel-based iMacs have built-in wireless, and
    (2) when did they go to the "n" spec (which I do NOT want!), and
    (3) whether it is possible to disable built-in wireless in an iMac and add a card to substitute the "g" spec. (I doubt that is possible, but I'm sure somebody here knows the answer.)
    thank you!

    Yes
802.11n first appeared in late 2006 model iMacs.
Yes, you could use a USB dongle instead if you so choose, but why? You could just as easily limit this capability in your router.

  • Is the iMac compatible with RAM clocked at PC3-10666?

    I have a mid-2011 21.5" iMac with the 2.8GHz Quad-Core i7. It's currently at 4GB since $300 for 16GB RAM was just too much.
The specs tell me that this model iMac is compatible with DDR3 1333MHz PC3-10600 RAM. I've been looking around for 4x4GB units, but most of the ones I find are all DDR3-1333MHz PC3-10666, not PC3-10600.
Some sources I've read tell me that there's no discernable difference between the two, but I want to be sure before I buy anything. Most of those questions pertained to custom rigs.
Will my iMac accept RAM clocked at PC3-10666?

that will be fine, as confirmed in this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/message/16588791#16588791

  • Can't get OCZ Agility 60GB to work

I purchased an OCZ Agility SSD a few days ago but have been unable to get it working. Whenever I try to install Snow Leopard, the install process fails after about 30 minutes with the message: "Install failed. Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer. The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."
On their support forum OCZ said to zap the PRAM 3 times. I did that but still no luck. I had read other people having success with this model drive in their Macs which is why I bought it. Is there something I'm missing?

I don't have anything else that can use a SATA II drive. However, OCZ got back to me and will be replacing the drive. So I guess I'll be trying this again in a couple weeks. Thanks for your help!

  • Is nvidia geforce gtx 675mx card compatible with fcpx

Is the Nvidia geforce gtx 675mx comes with the new iMac 27" compatible with fcpx?
I could not find it on Apple's list of cards required or fcpx

    It should be.
I have only heard about issues with the 640mx card..
But FCPX uses OpebCL and other system API's to use the GPU, so if someting is not working, it should be the OS having issues..

  • Is the Kingston SSD 240GB Sata3 2.5" SSDNow V 200 compatible with a LATE 2011 Macbook Pro 13?

I need to know if it is 100% compatible and not give me problems in the future.
    I hope some help, thanks!!!

Kingston Hyper X is compatible with your Macbook.
Another SSD to look at is the Samsung 830 Series and Sandisk Extreme.
There are a few of us here using the Crucial M4.  I have the 256GB and 512GB Crucial M4 drives.
As for the RAM.  You can use Crucial, Mushkin, Corsair and Patriot.
I use Crucial on my Late 2011 Macbook Pro 15 Inch and Patriot Signature Series on my Late 2011 13 Inch Pro.
Both are 16GB with no issues.  Patriot Signature Series is currently on sale for $100 (16GB)....Not sure which part of the world you live in so can't give you any stores that sells them.
In any event, good luck with your transplant.
