IMac 2012 - BootCamp Win 7 64 BIT CD

Hi i want to buy a Windows 7 64 Bit CD for my IMAC 2012 on the internet but i've read that OEM Versions doesn't work probably. Please tell me what Win7 CD i must buy, to get no problem with the installation.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You can use OEM versions if you want. Just make sure that you don't buy a Windows 7 version which is designed to run on a specific computer, so you have to buy a "System Builder" version. For example, you can buy this System Builder > http://www.amazon.com/Windows-Premium-64bit-System-Builder/dp/B004Q0PT3I/ref=sr_ 1_1?s=software&ie=UTF8&qid=1368169050&sr=1-1&keywords=windows+7
Another option you have is to buy a full version of Windows 7 in eBay or Amazon, like this Windows version > http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Windows-7-Home-Premium/dp/B002DHGMK0/ref=sr_1_7? ie=UTF8&qid=1368163453&sr=8-7&keywords=windows+7

  • ITunes 1080p download playback on latest iMac (2012) and iTunes v11 64-Bit

I've recently bought the new iMac (top of the range 2012 version) and am running all the lates software, including iTunes 11 under 64 Bit.
I thought I would re-organise my iTunes library, deleting SD and 720p files and re-downloading the 1080p version from iTunes. All is great, except I get the QuickTime error when trying to play back the file. This is weird because I can play the file OK as it's downloading, it only has a problem once it's completed the download and the file is processed. I don't want to switch my iTunes to 32 Bit to play them back. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Reading this thread, i realize my response doesn't make a lot of sense.  Sorry 'bout that. I've been deesperately searching for help to get my iTunes running again and i've tried many different things. No such luck so far.

You need to go to the computer maker and get a copy of the OEM for your system.  YOu cannot download a non OEM and repair "it" with the OEM CD'S.  The cd's are probably for repair not install.  Does your system have a restore partition?

  • After Ordering OSX Snow From Apple For My iMac To Install Win 7 64 bit

Customer Support knew I was trying to install Windows7 64 bit when they told me I need OSX Snow Leopard for my iMac in order to do so. I bought the software and it was delivered today. I installed Windows 7 successfully (64 bit) and when I went to install the Boot Camp 3.1 drivers it said I needed Boot Camp 3.0 drivers first. I tried to install those and found out that is when my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHZ processor cannot handle 64 bit Windows.
I have already partitioned my HD with Boot Camp 50/50. Is the only solution to uninstall Windows 7 64? How do I do that? Does anyone know if Windows 7 64 bit can be run on an I Mac early 2008 24"?

do you have SP1 integrated in Win7 instillation disk?

  • Want to install Win 7 32-bit with Bootcamp on a 2009 iMac 24in running Mavericks. Do I have any good options?

I need to get Win 7 32 bit running on 2009 iMac 24-in, on a Bootcamp partition. Problem is I'm running Mavericks on that machine, and from everything I've read, Bootcamp 5 doesn't support 32-bit anything. Is it possible to do so without downgrading MacOS to an earlier version? I will if I have to. Would it be possible/advisable to boot to 10.6.8 from a removable drive and create the Bootcamp partition on the internal (10.9.x) drive? Any other options that can get me running Windows faster? Under Parallels it's just too slow.

As a possible alternative, Is it possible to only load Win 7 to the machine without bootcamp? Could I simply partition the drive for Windows and install? It's not that I want to run Win 7 -- MacOS is a far better solution for me. But for my bookkeeper, who will use this system extensively, MacOS is a foreign landscape and her software is win-based. I don't want to pay her to learn Mac-ese. And I don't want to buy a PC!
    Thoughts?

  • Boot Camp wont install 64 bit Windows 7 on iMac 2012

    Hello guys,
I just bought the iMac 27" Late 2012 and im looking into installing Windows 7 via bootcamp.
At first I downloaded 32 bit Windows from DigitalRiver and tried to install Windows it then let me know that 64bit Windows was required. So I went ahead and downloaded the 64 bit Windows 7 and tried again but it is still giving me the same issue as before "BootCamp only supports 64-bit Windows installation on this platform..."
What can I do about this?

Can I use a downloaded (ISO) version of Windows with Boot Camp?
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 and later), MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 and later, including Retina models), Mac mini (Mid 2011 and later), and iMac (Late 2012) can install downloaded (ISO) versions of Windows 7 and 8.
To determine if your Mac supports this feature:
Click the Go menu and choose Utilities.
    Open Boot Camp Assistant.
Click Continue. If you see a "Create a Windows 7 or later install disk" checkbox, your Mac supports the use of downloaded (ISO) install images. See the Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide for more information.
I hope this information helps ....

  • Cannot install drivers in win 7 32 bits using bootcamp 4 or 5

    I posted this question yesterday.
anyway, I have a imac midi 2011, 21,5 inches using OS x mountain lion 10.8.2. Manuals say I have to install bootcamp 4, because I install windows 7 profesional 32 bits.
Al follow all this instalation requirements, but when I try to install system say This software is not compatible.
I Downloaded from appel suppor site to PC intel and after I copy the .zip file in a root of USB formatted in FAT 32.
Finally is not possible download any driver. I I want to install an specific driver, is same problem.
I did all this steps but downloading bootcamp 5, and got same results. I understood Bootcamp 5 is only to install win 8 o win 7 64 bit, am I right?
    Thanks for your help
    Gilberto

To teh best of my knowledge, Boot Camp 5 only supports 64 Bit Windows installations (as it is designed for 64 bit hardware).  I dont recall positively, but I believe that Boot Camp 4 supports both 64 bit and 32 bit windows installations, but the installer may default to 64 bit mode.  You may have to extrace the drivers and install them manually in 32 bit mode.

  • Will Win 7 32 bit work an a iMac

I'm buying a 2009 or later iMac.  I have a few work programs I need to run from home so will go the bootcamp route.  Newbie with Mac's here but bought my wife a MacMini mid 2014 and so now I want something for myself but hampered by work requirements.
I've been trying to figure out if the intel based iMac that I finally buy will have a specific need for either 32 or 64 bit windows.  I have a friend offering a new Win 7 32 bit for not so cheap, so don't want to spend the money and not be able to use it.
Can I use a 32 bit version of windows on any 2009 or later intel based iMac?

You need to check the specs of the Mac you are buying,
Operating Systems come in either 64 or 32 bit architecture. 32bit OS will run on any hardware but 64bit OS will only run on 64bit capable hardware. You can also run 32bit OS on 64bit hardware but it will not use all of the hardware's capability.
Because the Windows version you have is 32bit it will work on any Intel based iMac using Bootcamp.
This excerpt from everymac.com appears to suggest all iMacs from 09 onwards are both 32/64bit capable.
The 3rd column is the boot capabilities.

If your system is Core2Duo or better, use 64-bit.  32-bit only sees 3.5 GB RAM max.  64-bit Home sees 16 GB RAM max, and 64-bit Pro sees 192 GB RAM max.

    5) I have win 7 64 bit.
    Please help.
    Thanks,

I dontknow if this will help you or not, ut back when the BootCamp v3.1 update came out, there were a number of people who could not get it to install. For many of them it was that they had a third-party software installed which added a display-adapter to their system (LogMeIn, etc.) If you have anything like that installed, try un-installing it first, then reboot, and try the bootcamp install. If that works, then you can easily re-install the other software again (although you may need to uninstall it again fr the next bootcamp update).

  • 11g R2(11.2.0.2)-Not able to connect using SID - Win 7 32 bit

    Hi Experts,
I have installed 11gR2(11.2.0.2) on Win 7 32 bit OS.
I am able to start database and listener services without any problem. ORACLE_BASE and ORACLE_HOME variables are set.
I am even able to connect to database using "sqlplus user/pass". (With ORACLE_SID variable set)
However, sqlplus command hangs when I try to connect using SID "sqlplus user/pass@o11gr2".
(No error, after waiting for >20 minutes I have to kill the command.)

  • DITA templates erratic in FM10 on Win 7 32-bit

We are a writing team of 4 - two using Windows XP 32-bit, one using Windows 7 32-bit and until recently I was using Windows XP 64-bit.  We are all using TCS3, with FM10.
We developed our desired DITA templates (task, topic, concept, etc.), updated our EDD and edited our structapps file and everything was working perfectly on the XP 32-bit and XP 64-bit systems.  Our fourth colleague joined us, was given the Win 7 32-bit, and tried to set up our templates to use.  They all worked fine, except for the Task template - which will not open a new file, nor allow her to open any existing Task .xml or .fm files.
Then, for other reasons, my OS was switched from XP 64-bit to Win 7 32-bit, and I had to set up the templates again after loading TCS 3 on.  Now, all of the templates are working perfectly, except for Topic. If I choose DITA>New DITA file>New Topic and choose the template, it starts to open the file window and then just shuts down again, no error message, no file, no nothing.  If I try to open an existing topic.xml file I get this error message:
         XML Read Report Log
         November 15, 2012 10:14 am
         Source Document: R:\User_Manuals\baseline\...\Topic\12AJF070H4Y.xml
         XML Read Messages...
Cannot open the template file ($STRUCTDIR\xml\DITA_1.2\app\technicalContent\template\TemplateMasterTopic.fm)
Which is exactly what happens when my colleague with 7 32-bit tries to open a task file.  Any ideas on what could be happening, that would make one file type unable to access a template, when all the others work exactly as they should be?
If I've missed including any information that would help clarify the situation, please let me know!

    All very strange.
I'd start by testing the default apps. Hopefully, you have created new apps rather than modifying the default apps .. yes? If so, switch back to the default apps and see if you're getting the same behavior. If this is happening with the default, unmodified, apps, you'll know that it's a system issue of some kind .. if it on;y happens with your apps, then it's likely a problem with your apps.
In your second post, you say some things that I don't really understand ..
    1) You said .. "If I click File>Open>select our task.template.fm.xml it opens with a TASK top level element." .. why do you have a file named "task.template.fm.xml"? Templates are typically FM binary files not XML files. Was this a typo or can you explain what this file is used for?
    2) You said .. "If I click DITA>New DITA File>New Task>select out task.template.fm it asks if it can open in .xml, I say yes, it opens with a TASK top level element." .. If you select "New Task" (or any new DITA topic type), it's asking for a new file name. If you're selecting the file "task.template.fm", FM thinks that you want to name the new file with that name, but an XML file cannot have a ".fm" extension so it asks if it's OK to use ".xml" as the extension. This then creates a new file named "task.template.fm.xml" (perhaps that's how you got the file in my question #1). My question is .. why are you doing this? Selecting the template file will have no affect on things, and just ends up creating a file with an odd name in the app folder.
Let me know how the testing with the default apps goes, and with a bit more info we may be able to resolve your problems.
    Cheers,
    ...scott
