IMac 24 and 27 Cinema Display as second monitor
Got older 24 iMac with mini DVI output for external monitor (ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro 256 MB graphics)
Bought 27 Cinema display to use as 2nd monitor.
Bought Atlona DP400 to convert signal.
Connected everything and only resolution I get on 27 Cinema display is 1280 x 720, which is frustrating.
Is there any way to set higher resolution for external monitor? Scaled shows only 800 x 600 and 1280 x 720 (as best for display)
Thank you for help!
If you mean those older Cinema Displays with the Apple Display Connector (ADC), then you need a mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter and the DVI to ADC convertor sold by Apple or others (expensive). I bought Apple's DVI to ADC box last year and use it to add the 23" Cinema Display HD to a Powerbook G4. Works great.
I haven't bought a mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter/cable to use the ADC display off my iMac, because I don't have the desk space for two large monitors and two large printers.

Original Cinema Display as Second Monitor
Hi All,
Is it possible to use my Cinema Display - not the new one, nor the Studio Display - as a second/external monitor for my iMac 21.5in? If so, what cable would I need?
Thanks,

3 Monitors with 1 iMac and 2 Cinema Displays conected to Windows Gaming PC Help!
Hi
I want to set up a 3 monitor gaming set up with 1 iMac in the middle and 2 cinema displays either side. This would be a tripple monitor set up.
I am looking to set up a new computer and i want to have 3 monitors. I also want to have an iMac so i want the iMac in the middle and two cinima displays next to each other. i Want to also conect these monitors with a Windows 7 gaming PC.
I want to hook up my very powerfull windows 7 gaming computer wich has 3 SLI GTX 560 EVGA cards. These cards have a display port output.
So i want to run 3 monitors from my gaming machine and i also want to have my iMac use the 3 monitors aswell. I also want to take advantage of the full, maximum resolution. I would get the thunderbolt cinema display monitors.
Gaming comupter has 3 display ports so i need to connect each graphics card to one of the monitors. I then need to conect the two cinema displays to the middle iMac.
I have not bought anything yet i just need to know if i can do this. Need to know stuff like what adapers to buy and what compatabilties.
I need to know if this is posible and how i would do it.
ThanksCould i use some of these cables?
It says they are thunderbolt conpatable.

I have a 27" iMac with a 27" Cinema display. If I have Photoshop on the cinema display, the menu bar is way over on the iMac. Is there any add-on that I can install to make the menu bar follow the open app?
Look at SecondBar gives you a second menubar
<http://blog.boastr.net/?p=3>
Also see DejaMenu
Also see MenuEverywhere (Shareware)
And if you happen to have a Magic Trackpad, the SecondBar author has a very nice BetterTouchTool utility for creating Magic Trackpad gestures. I can not live with out BetterTouchTool on my 27" iMac with 24" external monitor. -

Apple Aluminum Keyboard and 23" cinema Display and MacBook Pro??
Hello there
I have just purchased an Apple Aluminum Keyboard and have and MacBook Pro with and 23" cinema display, and if i try to connect the keyboard to my cinema display via USB the keyboard don't work.
i have an Apple mighty mouse that works fine wen connected to the USB port on the display...
why is it not working...have you tried a different USB port on the ACD? Maybe the one you used was defective? I run a 7-port bus off one of the USB ports for all my hardware. OTOH, I do use bluetooth mouse and keyboard!

Can I use a 19" LG monitor with a MacBook pro 13" and 24"cinema display
I would like to buy a new 13" mac book pro and 24" cinema display but would also like to use my existing 19" LG display to extend my destop space. Can it be done effectively and what kit do I need?
Thanks

Also it would have to be a pretty big touch screen, place your two hands over a 17" screen and most of the screen is blocked.
If you need something like that, talk to Microsoft, they have a "Big @ss table" that does that.
Gives me a backache just looking at those people

Macbook and the Cinema display
Hi,
I'm about to purchase a Cinema display for my Macbook, before doing so I have several questions.
In the Apple store at the Cinema display section there is told that the Apple displays are specially designed for the Mac Pro and Macbook pro's. I wonder if the displays work in the same way with my Macbook. I know that I need a Mini DVI to DVI cable. My question is if there are any disadvantages compared to the pro products. And I wonder if there are any users with experience related to the Macbook and the Cinema display.
regards,
KoenI have a first gen macbook and a 23" cinema display. I can't compare directly to the pro products but, I am very happy with the display and how it works with my laptop. I get full resolution and a firebox/USB hub. It's pretty sweet. I would tell you that if you are about to buy a display I would hold off for the leopard anouncement, the rumor is apple will replace the current display line up.

24" and 30" cinema displays on same card?
Will either the GT120 or ATI card allow you to connect both a 24" and 30" cinema display on the same graphics card? The 30" cold use the dual link DVI port and the 24" could use the MiniDisplay port; I just don't know if two different resolutions on each port are supported...
You can run both from the same card, and with different resolutions. Of course you won't get full resolution on both displays when mirroring different size displays, but in extended desktop mode they can each run at full resolution..

Preview highlight and shadow clipping mask in second monitor
Hi, I'm new in the forum and just starting with the new LR3. I have a question about to preview highlight and shadow clipping in the second monitor, becouse I can't check the mask clipping in my second monitor as in the LR2... Is there a possibility to change it to preview the mask in the second monitor?
Thanks and regards
DanielYeah, thanks.... but I mean that when you are in develop mode and you try to see the highlight or black clipping mask, red or blue, now in LR3 only appears in the main monitor, not in the second monitor as well like in LR2... Maybe I'm not explaining very well the difference...

An iMac 20" with an 20" Cinema Display as second screen in dual
I'm planning to buy an iMac 20" but I want to be sure of something before. I want to know if the screen of an iMac 20" and an 20" Cinema Display put together will be exactly at the same position. I search a lot online to have a picture of this but I only found some 17" iMac put together of an 20" Cinema Display. If someone can answer and/or give me a picture of this that would be really nice.
Intel PentiumD 830 3Ghz, 2Gb Ram, 7800GTX, 2x36gb Sata WD Raptor 10k, 2x19" LG T910BU Display Windows XP ProHere is a quote from the user reviews section of Amazon.com, about the new 20 inch Imac core duo:
Video out - The new iMac, for the first time ever, features a Mini-DVI output. This allows, with adapters, the ability to connect the iMac to a DVI display, a television via composite or S-video, or an analog display via VGA. I have my new iMac Core Duo connected to my 20-inch Apple Cinema Display, and it works perfect! A nice feature. This allows for screen-spanning, so I can take advantage of both screens.

30" Cinema Display as External Monitor for 15" iMac?
Is there any way to hook up a 30" Cinema Display to a flat-panel "lampshade" iMac? There is no DVI input on the iMac.
No. There is a VGA output, and (expensive) VGA to DVI converters, but they won't work with a 30" display.

2013 iMac 27" and 2 external displays
Hi Guys,
So my setup is a 2013 iMac 27" with a 27" Thunderbolt Display on one side and an 27" Cinema Display on the other...
The question I have is...
Can i configure my audio so basically both speakers on one external display + one of the internal ones become the Left channel and then both speakers from the other display + one from the internal speakers become the right channel
Its a bit hard to explain so i've made a diagram to illustrate:

So I want Speakers 1, 3 and 4 to act as the left channel and Speakers 2, 5 and 6 to act as the right channel...
I've done a bit of reading and Googling and OSX's "Audio Midi Setup utility" (used to create an Aggregate Audio Device) seems to show some promise but I can't figure out how to configure multiple speakers to one "channel" so to speak?
Maybe I need a third party app?
thanks in advance guysI would love to know the same.
Ideally I would like to have the speakers on the left monitor for left sound and the speakers on the right display to act as the right with the main iMac speakers doing noting?
