IMac 27" - Invalid Apple Product serial number

When I've checked my iMac on http://www.apple.com/support/imac-harddrive/ I recieved message, that my serial number isn't valid. Serial number on my iMac's stand (and within 'About This Mac' window too) looks like X00000XXX00. What should I do in this situation?

Lost product serial number

The other day I discovered that I had lost/mislaid the product serial number from my iWork '09 Family Pack box. Everything else is there, but I can't load the software without this number (can I?). Is there any way I can retrieve the number from the iMac on which I have already loaded this software, so I can use it on another?

If you bought the family pack electronically/online, you can get the serial number from the list of online purchases in your Apple Store account. Go to the Store tab at the top of this page, click Account (small, faint gray word next to the cart icon in the upper right), click on Downloadable Software Purchases & sign in.
If you bought the retail box, there is no serial number included. Something has changed with the retail DVDs recently that no longer allows the installation of the DVD over an existing trial. You will need to delete the trial then install from the DVD. You can use a application deleting program such as AppZapper or removed the files manually. Start with deleting the iWork '09 folder in Applications, then do a Spotlight search for any file with iWork, Keynote, Pages & Numbers in the name & trash them (keep any earlier than '09 files if you want). Check for any files in Application Support in all Libraries (user & main HD), particularly HD > Library > Application Support > iWork '09, HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork '09 & plist files in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences. Spotlight doesn't search libraries, so I prefer using the freeware utility Find Any File.

Where did you buy the machine? An Apple store, an authorized reseller, or ??
Also, what is the model/identifier? Is it the latest or was it purchased used?

Final Cut Pro 5 upgrade won't accept full product serial number

Just got FC Pro 5 upgrade and I am trying to install on top of FC Express Retail. I bought FCE at the apple store, so it's full retail.
The installer first asks for the FCP s/n, then I get a pop that says I've entered an upgrade serial number and will need to enter the full product serial number. When I type in the FCE s/n, the OK button stays dimmed.
Any advice? Apple's closed today.

John Galt gave you a link showing how to find that number. Your Mac (any Mac) has only one serial number. So I can't say I understand why you list 1 and 3 as separate choices. They'd be the same. The one you found on the bottom may just be the serial number of the battery.
To find your Mac's serial number, go to the Apple at the top left and choose About This Mac. It will initially show the version of OS X you're using. Click on that gray version number and it will rotate between that, the build number and your serial number.

"We're sorry, but this product serial number is not valid."

I get "We're sorry, but this product serial number is not valid. Please check your information and try again." when I try to activate my AppleCare Plan for my MBP 15" (2011). It's the correct serial number. What should I do?

When I tried to type this in for registration, it does register as this numbers also contain letters in it. Apparently the registration boxes accept numbers only. What do I do with a useless product for which I have paid good money for it?????

This is the simple solution which was offered to me when I tried to get the serial code on line.
The box and disc sleeve do not contain a series with 24 numbers which I presume is the product code to install.
I tried to redeem the registration code by following what they recommended, but inevitably it gets to the page that showed the registration boxes that need 24 serial numbers and I got stuck again.
This product is so different what my previous experiences of other software products where I just enter the serial number straight from the disc sleeve and then I got registered and go on to use the software.
I is really frustrating, spending the last two hours trying to get my product going....

I think it would depend how complex it is. You could have an before update workflow that uses some IIF's to test for certain syntaxs, and if an error it replaces error text. My concern however is if the logic requires data from other records/systems (eg attributes), wf wont do it.
Alternately you will need to have a background integration process that reviews and checks them, based on an integration event wf.
