IMac and iPad Air sharing

I reasently bought a new iMac for myself and an iPad Air for the mrs.
I just cant get them to work together, niether by Bluetooth or by using Airdrop.
Bluetooth connects and disconnect, there is a error message that says "the device does not have the necessary services" (the iMac or iPad?)
Airdrop, in the iMac, just cant find the iPad and I dont know if it is even possible do the search from the iPad
What is there for my to do? I am new to the Mac family, so hopefully there is a simple sulution outhere..

With the new products being released, I was wondering what combination people have gone for.
At present I have an iPhone 5s, iPad 2 and windows laptop but really want a mac.
What combination have others gone for??
I am considering iMac and iPad air, or Retina MacBook Pro with potential retina ipad mini.
Problem with the iPad mini is, is there a real need with the iPhone and rMB Pro?

My old 17" MacBook Pro finally died, since I like a large dispaly and Apple no longer makes a 17" laptop I decide on a 27" iMac. I travel quite a bit and since my iPad 3 has replaced the laptop while I'm on the road I decided my money was better spent getting a higher end iMac rather than a MacBook. Even around the house my MacBook was pretty much left on the desk since I always grab the iPad when going portable.
I wouldn't compare the iPad with an iPhone. And the only way to really choose between the iPad mini and an Air is to go to a store and hold them. Myself, I again prefer the larger screen.

Transferring Albums between iMac and iPad Air iPhoto's

Just bought an iPad Air and it set up fine and synced with all the old iPad info of my iPad 1. On iPhoto however, it only imported the albumns that I had on the old iPad and I could not import an album I have on my iMac in iPhoto onto the new iPad. Any suggestions.

I have an imac running iphoto 7.1.5 and have updated my itunes to the latest version 11.1.3, my opp system is Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
When i sync my ipad via usb cable, my iphoto 7.1.5 loads and i can transfer files from my ipad to the imac, but not the other way round. I tried to follow your instructions above by using itunes but after clicking on the ipad tab there is no iphoto tab appearing. Is it because my iphoto version is so old or am I doing something stupid, i would appreciate some help

Why can't i sync my calendar on my iMac and iPad Air

I am unable to sync my Contacts and Calendars on my iMac 10.10.1 and my iPad Air 8.1. ?
When I sync my "info" I receive the message: "You Contacts are being synced with your iPad over the air from iCloud."
but it never happens.

IMac and iPad Air quality

I bought a iPad 3 last fall and it's great device. I regulary used it and never had a problem with it.
This September I bought iMac. It's amazing computer, good OS and I'm happy to use them. But after 2 months it broke and still being repaired.
In November I bought iPad Air, but on his screen were dead pixels, I replaced it, but new device also had dead pixels!
As a result, over the past 3 months I bought 3 Apple computer and all had defective! What's going on?

Any phone call now rings FaceTime on imac and iPad air.

I recently set up my phone to relay SMS messages to iMessage on my Mac and IPad. The SMS messages have been coming through fine, since.
However, around the same time I made those changes, whenever my iPhone gets a phone call, my iPad, and IMac' FaceTime simultaneously ring (even though these are just audio only phone calls.)

make sure it's not being connected to by any of the other two
one can only connect 1 device at the time and just by waking up sometimes a headset connects to a device
automaticly
then forget the bluetooth device in OS X and put the headset in pairing mode / discovery mode and connect with it once again with the mac

Hi. Actually you can connect your iPad to the iTunes without erasing the contents which purchased from iTunes Store. I suggest to import your photos taken by iPad to iMac the first time: Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC - Apple Support.
Also you can click to stop syncing to avoid losing some contents.

i have turned on Home Sharing on my iMac and iPad but I cannot see the More option leading to the Shared option in my iTunes. Any suggestions?

First of all - The More button is in the Music App at the bottom of the screen - not in iTunes.
Launch iTunes on the Mac and go to iTunes>Preferences>Sharing. Do you have Share Library on Local Network selected?
In the iPad settings go to Music>Apple ID. Are you signed in?

Try upgrading your Mac to the newest version of OS X Mavericks, and try upgrading your iPhone and iPad to the newest version of iOS 7.

No. You cannot link your contacts to hers. However, you can use Home Sharing to share the information:
