IMac Applecare ( I couldn't find a section I deemed appropriate )

Night gents.
I'm sorry to come here and burden all of you with my problems but I have been particularly worried about this situation and the Apple professional that took my call on the support number was troublingly unable to give me any kind of answer on this matter.
So, back when I purchased my iMac from Apple.com, I made sure to purchase ( and receive ) the AppleCare Protection Plan ( Hereon ACPP for space and lazyness ).
I had read the following on the website:
When I purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan, do I need to register it?
If you purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan at the same time as your Mac, iPad, iPhone, iPod, Apple TV, or Apple display from the Apple Online Store or the Apple Retail Store, Apple will register the AppleCare Protection Plan for you. If you purchase your AppleCare Protection Plan and your covered product separately or elsewhere, you will need to register your AppleCare Protection Plan.
One day last week, I decided to check if that was actually true and see how my registry was on the website. I logged in with my Apple ID, followed the instructions on the manual I received along with the ACPP and landed on https://www.apple.com/lae/support/applecare/overview/.
I was then led to press the Register a new agreement link > Get Started > Register an AppleCare agreement > Select my location.
Now this is when things got messy. Every time I select my country ( Brazil ) I receive the following response: We're sorry, but there are no AppleCare products available for your location. For more information, please contact us.
Furthermore, when I check the Warranty Dynamic.do page ( which in theory shows me my coverage situation ) I get the following:

Your product is eligible for complimentary telephone technical support during the first 90 days.

EVERY box except for the last one has a green check on it. The last one has a yellow !. Meaning, I'm ELIGIBLE but I'm not registered? Wasn't Apple supposed to HAVE me registered on the ACPP from the purchase date as mentioned above? Furthermore, why does this page tell me I'm eligible but the registration page says my country has no ACP Products available?
I know this is the kind of pain in the buttocks situation almost nobody has the patience to reply to, and if you made it this far on the post I thank you for your time alone, you've been most kind. I am, however, at a loss of how to proceed, given that the very own Apple employees seem incapable of telling me what is happening.
Any kind of reply is appreciated, and if I posted this in the wrong section PLEASE forgive me/point me to the correct direction.

Thank you for the reply. I purchased my iMac from the Brazilian online store. I've tried contacting them, it was one of my first reactions - Perhaps I had bad luck with the employee, but the conversation did not go very well.

Ah, sweet lil telephone numbers you got there mate. I'll try them first thing in the morning ( It's currently 19:50 here, the support center is closed by now ).
Regarding the link, that's the very own I mentioned up there that tells me I'm happily eligible for the plan, but not registered.
To a certain extent I entirely agree with your blind alley theory - It is by far the most likely explanation. However I feel that it is better to be safe than sorry.
On a further note, every time I try to follow the selfsolve.apple.com/Agreements.do page and press the Get started ( This page is supposed to allow me to view any agreements I have already registered - Or Apple, I suppose ) I get an error message, namely ˜An Internal Server Error Has Occurred.˜
Notice this has been happening for the past 6 days every single time I dare to press that button.
On a final note for tonight, as I must put my baby brother to sleep and rest myself, I would like to thank both of you for the kindness and patience you've found to help me on such a...boring matter, for lack of a more suitable (and acceptable in a public environment) word. I am grateful.

    I've run in to a problem that is making me tear the hair from my head. I'm hoping for your help!
    Short story:
    I'm trying to install OS X Lion on my 27" iMac.
    I've erased the HD using Disc Tool in recovery.
    HD shows no errors.
    I've tried Internet Recovery (it loads up, but wont start the installation)
    I've tried creating a recovery usb on another similar iMac, and use it on this. Same error, only differance is it keeps "loading" when installing, but nothing happens. Same error in log.
    When I try to start the Reinstall I get an error in the installation log that goes something like this:
    Install Mac OS X Lion[354:9c03] Couldn't find app store version, falling back to hardcoded
    Can not connect to /var/run/systemkeychaincheck.socket: No such file or directory
    Apple Care suggested:
    Trying another network (doesn't work).
    Install with the original Snow Leopard DVD first, then upgrade (can't do that, the DVD is lost and a DVD from another friend is not working)
    What can I do to get around this error?
    Someone suggested buying a usb with Snow Leopard from the apple store. Do I really have to buy a NEW operating system because the recovery doesn't work? Would I have to pay to upgrade to Lion again?

    Follow AppleCare's instructions on re-installing Snow Leopard and re-installing Lion. Your friends disc won't work because the discs are machine specific. You will have to get a replacement set of your original Install Discs from AppleCare for a nominal cost.

  • Couldn't find root user.  Sleeping and trying again.

    Last week I installed an MSO 2004 update on my G5 iMac running 10.4.11.
    Then I attempted to repair permissions. The repair permissions process
    halted at about half of the progress bar. I let it cook for about two
    hours without success, then tried to force quit Disk Utility. I
    couldn't force quit it, so I very reluctantly turned off the Mac;
    something I've rarely ever done. I waited five minutes and then turned
    the Mac back on. The startup sequence progressed to the point where the
    system displays the gray apple on the gray background, and the circular
    progress indicator or gear begins turning. I let it turn for one hour
    and then powered off the iMac, then powered it back up with the same
    results.
    I powered it off again and then commenced a Safe Boot. Same results as
    before.
    I powered it off again and then started it in Single User Mode. No
    problem. I ran /sbin/fsck -fy. No problem.
    I typed "reboot" and it rebooted. This time I start it in Verbose mode.
    After the preliminary startup code, the system began repeating the same
    message lines:
    dsFindDirNodes returned -14071, count = 0 count = 2147483646
    Couldn't find root user. Sleeping and trying again.
    A Google search produced very few results. I don't have a backup
    because I inherited this iMac from my 75 year old semi retired father
    who wanted a 20-inch Intel iMac instead. I just goof around with the G5
    iMac from time to time, and am considering giving it to my little niece and
    nephews. It worked great for about a month. I have customized my
    user account and the accounts for the little ones, so I really don't
    want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall Tiger again from scratch.
    I booted from the suspect internal hard drive into single user mode.
    I ran /sbin/fsck -fy on the internal hard drive.
    All tests passed.
    I ran fsck_hfs on the internal hard drive.
    It returned a message that stated that I needed
    to add additional information.
    I ran fsck_hfs with several switches enabled, but
    it continued to return this message.
    I performed the procedures in Apple's article 107210
    "Mac OS X, Mac OS X Server: How to Replace the NetInfo
    Database (Restoring from defaults).
    This did not solve the problem.
    I booted this computer from my external Firewire hard drive that I use
    to create nightly backups on my G4 iMac using SuperDuper!.
    I ran Disk Utility Repair Disk Permissions on the
    internal hard drive.
    There were no permissions errors.
    I ran Disk Utility Repair Disk.
    All tests passed.
    I ran the TechTool Pro Suites --> Advanced Tests on
    the internal hard drive.
    All tests passed except for "Startup File" which it
    listed as " <Not Present>".
    The description of this test is:
    "This test checks the Startup file. The parameters
    within this file contain the information used by
    the computer ROM to determine what program will
    boot the computer as well as other system-specific
    aspects."
    I ran the TechTool Pro Performance --> Maintenance
    routine on the internal hard drive.
    It completed the maintenance successfully.
    I ran DiskWarrior on the internal hard drive.
    It reported no directory errors, but I replaced it
    anyway.
    While booted from the external Firewire hard drive, I viewed what
    appears to be the proper compliment of folders on the internal hard
    drive. Of course, I didn't examine and verify every subfolder in the
    hierarchy, however, examining the Applications, Library, System, and
    Users folders two deep seemed to indicate that everything was there.
    I booted this computer from my Tiger installation disk. I selected
    Utilities --> Reset Password... (I think.). It listed only the
    Administrator account (root) on the internal hard drive. It did not
    list the other three accounts that I created on this hard drive, even
    all three respective folders are present in the Users folder. However,
    it did list all four accounts on the still attached external Firewire
    hard drive.
    By every measure, this drive and its directory are sound. I am
    concerned that TechTool Pro reported that the Startup File is Not
    Present. Beyond the meaning that the words suggest, I'm not sure what
    this really means. I checked the Micromat site and found the following:
    The Startup File has been defined but not yet
    implemented by Apple.
    What does the message signify:
    dsFindDirNodes returned -14071, count = 0 count = 2147483646
    Couldn't find root user. Sleeping and trying again.
    Can I effect a simple repair?

However when you look in the settings it displays that ~roughly 90 GB free space is available. Seen the fact that I had about 60 gigs of music this doesn’t seem like a coincidence and I think my music is still somewhere on the ipod but the HDD isn’t recognizing it anymore.
    I’ve tried resetting it, and resetting it to factory settings, which didn’t work. When connected to a desktop it won’t be recognized by iTunes, it displays an error message that the iPod cannot be read and that I have to reset it to factory settings.
    I’ve spent some time researching this problem yesterday and I ran into a myriad of vaguely similar problems didn’t really offer any help. Currently I’m thinking that formatting the iPod might work, and restoring the software afterwards. However this is a rather bold strategy so I’d like to consult you here first.

    Thank you for the info, with formatting my iPod I managed to connect it to iTunes again.
    However..in the page you linked to there is a section about how transferring large amounts of data can dump your library. That seems to be the problem in this case. It won't even allow me to transfer more than 2 gigabytes of music per sync, if I go higher it will dump everything again. Having over >60 GB of music in my library, this is disastrous to say the least.
    Do you think that there is any other solution besides the method you mentioned involving Smart Playlists?

    If you haven't already done these steps, this section contains information that might help your situation, as the order and manner which you uninstall has an effect on the outcome:
    Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
    Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
    Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

    If you are looking for your  serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers,please see Find a serial number

    I'm using Safari 7.0.4. Couldn't find option "Safari opens with:". I want to enable all my tabs and windows to be restored where I left off when I quit Safari. I can see that option in my iMac which is running at same version level.

    It should happen automatically, unless you checked the box marked Close all windows when quitting an application in the General pane of System Preferences.

  • Lion server shows up in Finder "Shared" section but won't connect

    My Lion server iMac shows up both on my home LAN and from work in the Finder Shared section.
    Other Shared servers show up (just Lion not Lion Server) and work fine, as usual.
    When clicking on the Lion server icon the Finder tries to connect and then is unable (no password entered).  Connect As doesn't do anything.  Also, removed the original entry in Keychain so there's no password every requested nor given, just fails.
    Any ideas ?

    Well, after much fumbling, I checked out ifelix' site again, and the trick was to select "shared" instead of "open" in Authentication Mode on the PC. I am not sure what the setup on my PC is now, but it works, and thats the main thing

  • My Directtv receiver is having problems.  Direct tells me it is because I have iYogi on my iMac.  How can I find it?  I don't see it on my apps.

    Is there an app on the iMac called iYogi.  I am having problems with my Directtv receiver and they are telling me that it's because of this app.  I have no idea where it is located if it even is on my computer.

    iYogi is an Indian company that provides subscription-based technical support, according to Wikipedia.  I did a scan and couldn't find what to remove to uninstall it on a mac. The few Windows notes I read talked about reloading the system software to get rid of it.
    Have you tried using Finder to search for iYogi? Have you looked at your login items (system preferences and users) to see if something that might be identified to iYogi is loading there?

    In our production environment, we sometime get the following error (Channel Audit Log):

    This particular interface runs around 100 times a day without any issues, however around once or twice  a month we get this error.
    This is a synchronous interface.
    Could be because of number of threads alloted for Synchronous messages in Visual Admin.
