IMac BootCamp not working

Hi, i have a problem. I'm installing Win7 Home Premium on my Mid 2011 iMac base model using BootCamp. When I boot up the installer, I get Windows is loading files... and the white bar moves and it stops moving. I coudn't power off my my iMac, so I pulled the plug on it. It booted again, and repeated the same thing. How do I stop this ?

installing Yosemite 10.10 the Apps Store application on my iMac does not work properly. Applications show up in the App Store window to be updated but in fact most of them do not download and install. Some 3rd party software does download and install but most Apple and HP Applications do not. They appear in some cases in both the Ready to update or install list and in the "Installed in the last 30 days list". In some cases when I click on "Update" it shows in the "Installed in the Last 30 Days list" but it is not installed. In the case of the latest Yosemite 10.10.3 beta down load, it momentarily show up like it is downloading but then disappears and does not install.

I am now using Yosemite 10.10.2 and am trying to install the beta Download Yosemite 10.10.3 hoping it will resolve my problem but starts to download from the App Store snd then quits.

Video iChat on my iMac is not working

Video iChat on my iMac is not working. The i chat buddies screen is up all right. I can see my buddies' pictures on the screen. But I can't start the video iChat. It worked fine for a few years...suddendly it does not work???

In the Buddy list you can see the Video Chat green icon for your Buddy.
Their Buddy pic is also on view.
Clicking the Green Icon (Or highlighting and using the Video Menu > Invite to Video chat) does what exactly ?
Do you get to see your Preview ?
Does it say Connecting ?
Do you get any Error message or pop up ?
Have you changed your router ?
Have you allowed iChat through it ?

Any ideas why the video camera on my imac is not working?

Does any one have any idea why the video camera on my imac is not working? I have been using skype on my imac for some time and recently I have discovered that it wont work, could this have anything to do with the mountain lion upgrade?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or some USB or Firewire device, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...
/private/var/run/StartupItems
/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/LaunchDaemons

Mighty mouse in bootcamp not working

Hi Team.
I have just installed Vista Ultimate and the newest drivers for it from apple (the new exe download)
Its all gone well and I am typing to you from the apple wireless keyboard.
However the wireless mighty mouse is not working.
I followed this procedure.
Opened bluetooth in the control panel and added an item. It searched and found the mouse I selected it then told it I did not want to connect with a passkey. Eventually it says connected sucessfully with no pass key. The one of those terribly annoying pop up ballons tells me there is new bluetooth click to use it, I click it and then a new window comes up asking me to enter a pass key?
We can get no further. Basically it says connected but does not work.
Any ideas?

I've got exactly the same problem - iMac with Bootcamp, Vista Ultimate 32-bit, recognises wireless keyboard but keep getting the same pop-up asking for a passkey for my mighty mouse despite asking it to set it up with no passkey.
Went throught the whole Bootcamp/Vista install process fairly seamlessly otherwise.
Anyone got any other ideas?

Emagic mt4 and intel iMac does not work with 10.4.5

after updating my iMac on 10.4.5 my MT4 does not work any longer. It is still shown in the system profiler! But that`s it! After I`ve installed the latest driver (emagic v1.7), it was not shown in the audio/midi preferences. On my G4 with 10.3.9 it is still working properly. I have tried to use it with Garage Band 3, while I am waiting for Logic Pro 7.2 . It worked in the begining, but now the USB connection on the MT4 does not light up, but the midi devices. My question is: Do I need a driver using Logic Pro 7.2 with an Intel iMac? Includes the update the driver for Emagic MT4?

I will try to get some driver information of apple. Emagic is apple now, so who else could that know?! I use an m-audio fw audio-interface. For that m-audio got a driver and it works by now. Fortunately! I will tell you if apple got a clue.

Recently, I try to Re-install Snow Leopard, unfortunately, still unsuccessful.
The Mybook Icon only appears if it is connected via USB.
After using Firewire and getting used to the speed...USB 2.0 is like a Corvette racing a Veyron...lol
I am not upset on these issues, it is normal for new OS to have these problems...unfortunately, even OSX is not invincible.
I'm sure Apple/Steve is on every Programers A*s for a solution.
I still think APPLE'S OSX will still be the future of Operating system!
For now, still waiting for the patch and hopefully soon.
Suggestions are still Welcome for a Solutions:-)

Bootcamp not Working Correctly on Macbook Pro

I am trying to install Windows 7 or 8 onto my Macbook Pro with Bootcamp.
Once I have opened the Bootcamp program it all works fine and I can go through the steps perfectly, it will appear to partition the HDD correctly and it will recognise the Windows install DVD correctly.
However, once my Macbook Pro restarts at the end of the process it boots up and the screen stays white, nothing happens and since I have a gaming keyboard and mouse the lights light up on it for about 5 seconds when it restarts then they go off (Off meaning they aren't powered). The screen will stay white for aslong as I can tell, I left it for 3 hours and the screen was still white.
So I thought there may be a problem with how it selects the the startup disk, so I boot it up into disk utility then select the DVD again and it stays white, again.
Anyone know why this is not working correctly? I have tired this with mutliple install DVD's whether they be Windows 8 or Windows 7. I also do not want to use a program that creates a virtual machine, I would like to run Windows 7 to the full so that I can play games with the maximum amount of FPS.

Does it now work only on battery? or using the power supply?
If only on the power supply use a grounded plug.
Otherwise try reseating touchpad cable. Post the size and year of your MBP.

Brand new iMac does not work wirelessly

This is a very strange situation and I don't know how much to be concerned about it.
6 weeks ago I bought the first of two brand new iMacs. We have two old G4s both wired into a Netgear wireless router, plus the printer. The first new iMac when switched on, immediately found the Netgear and has worked perfectly, wirelessly, ever since. As it should.
Less than a week ago I bought the second new iMac, which is identical to the first. I put it on the _same desk_ as the Netgear, therefore a distance of only one foot. Straight out of the box, it worked wirelessly to register itself with Apple.
Since then, it has only worked wirelessly very intermittently, and then very slowly indeed. I was wasting far too much time trying to figure out why the wireless did not work, and eventually wired it into the router too.
I was attempting to set up a network with 2 old G4s wired in, and 2 new iMacs wireless. Now I have 3 wired in and one wireless.
Is there something wrong with the second brand new iMac? Or is there some line I should be pursuing with Netgear?
I have written all the IP addresses down in case anyone responding - and I sure hope SOMEONE responds! - thinks that this may be a clue.

I phoned the software support which comes free for 90 days with a brand new iMac.
The bright young man there instantly knew what the problem was, because he'd seen it all before. There's nothing wrong with the iMac and it has nothing to do with IP addresses.
I have to go into the Netgear configuration screen and Enable MAC filtering. This means I'll give the router the hardware addresses of the two iMacs and it will then allow both of them to communicate wirelessly - but no other devices which might be lurking in the vicinity.
Sounds good to me.

Bootcamp not working properly

Hello all, I'm not sure whether this is the right forum but a couple other discussions of bootcamp were in here, so I thought it may be. I tried running bootcamp and my macbook, burned the drivers to DVD, and then when I tried partitioning my harddrive, it said files can not be moved and that I should back up all my files and reformat my harddrive as a single mac OS extended (journaled) drive. Well, that's what my harddrive is already formatted as. Does anyone have any idea of what may be going on? And if I do have to reformat, is there an easy and effective way to do this other than just transferring to an external then formatting, then moving it back onto the computer? Also, does anyone know if bootcamp will work with vista? Thank you.

Yes, i finally found a way to do it. I ended up moving all of my files to an external before I was about to format and reinstall, and I ended up trashing one of my programs. It said there was an error when trying to move files, so I suspected that it may be the culprit for the holdup. So after I had my harddrive cloned, I decided to try bootcamp one more time before reformatting. I did it, and this time it instead told me my drive couldn't be verified. So i just repaired the disk, and it was able to partition! Now I just have to get my hands on a copy of xp...

10.5.3 Bootcamp not working properly, can't install OS's

I can't seem to install any operating systems. It's seems to be a partition map type problem. I've used the bootcamp assistant before without a problem. I am trying to install XP Pro SP2 (Original CD) onto a drive in Bay 2 (I also tried another drive in Bay 3) but get stuck when I choose the drive to format at the XP install screen. It's says it cannot install the OS on this drive, to try another or to try formatting. Same problem with vista. Bootcamp does not seem to be preparing the drive properly like it used to. Besides bootcamp I also tried formatting the drive myself in disk utility (with GUID and MBR partition schemes) and selecting the install CD at boot but I get stuck at the same spot. What is going on? Why do the installers think that the drive is not formatted properly? I have tried 2 drives in 2 different bays. I tried doing a dedicated install on the drive and also divining the drive but no luck. Please help. Thanks in advance.

I'm taking the computer to assistance as suggested. Even tho I'm almost 100% sure that this isn't a hardware issue.
Here is why I'm not wasting my time on my affirmative. I'm computer science bacharelor, I know about computer architeture and S.O architeture and also I'm computer developer for more than 10 years now. All behaviors presented have no connection with hardware problems. What I'm trying to say is that I'm not just saying things for saying, I have a logic behind what I say.
For a short example, whenever mouse right click stops working on a specific window/software, if I click on the window top border and drag it around and go back to the window content, the click works again.
Also, my keyboard and mouse work via usb. Usb is working normally. If I plug a usb memory stick it shows that usb is working as it should be.
On windows, right button click is also not working inside any software window, but if I click on start button, icons on desktop, anything on windows epxlorer, it works as it should be. Isnt't there bootcamp underneath windows ?
on top of it, it's a brand new mac, i have it for 5 months.
All these people that have the same problem, do u think all of them have hardware issues? Do you think Apple would keep releasing new computers with hardware problems and they wont have any information/recall for them? and worst, the problems start in a random date ?
This is my first mac and all these problems, being hardware or not, makes me lose all confidence on Apple products.

I have an iMac and when my mail does not work at times. it will not send/recieve messages on my servers. my "mail connection doctor" says that my SMTP account has a red circle: "trying to log in to this SMTP account failed. verify that the username and password are correct. How do i fix this?

Start in System Preferences > Mail, Contacts and Calendars and check the account in Enabled there for Mail.
In the iCloud one you may have to enter the password again if you have changed it recently.

Bootcamp not working on my Mac

I am trying to get my bootcamp of windows 7 to work. It worked when I originally was given the laptop but now it is not working.
It looks like this when I look at the start up disk:
and when I start up my mac while holding option this is what I get:
bootcamp isn't even an option.
PLEASE HELP!!!

I think this helps explain how to fix this HDMI Audio issue running Windows via Bootcamp. (I'm running Win 8)
1. Go to Programs on the Control Panel
2. Uninstall Intel HD Graphics Driver
3. Restart computer
4. Go to Intel's Driver Support website and download the driver.http://downloadcenter.intel.com/
(I'd reccomend just selecting the auto scan and it will show you what drivers you can install)
5. Install the Intel HD Graphics Driver
6. Restart computer
7. Go to Hardware and Sound on the Control Panel
8. Click on Sound and the Intel Display Audio should display now and set it as default
Hope this helps with anyone experiencing this same issue.
