IMAC can't find N network with TC firmware 7.4.1 and 7.4.2

Hello, I have a problem since I upgraded my TC from 7.3.2 to 7.4.1 and 7.4.2.
both my two IMACs can't find the TC N network, only if I downgrade to 7.3.2 they actually find and connect to the TC N network.
please let me know if the only solution is not to upgrade the firmware.
thanks
Fabrizio

Same here: 7.1.1 works but 7.2.1 & 7.3.1 do not with the same symptoms.
In fact there are now several threads reporting the same loss of internet connectivity. Happily reverting to 7.1.1 restores connectivity.

  • I can't find my network with Bridge CS4

With Bridge CS3, I used to be able to connect to any machine on my network. There was a network icon (globe) in the folder browser pane. Now I don't know how to find other computers on my network from Bridge CS4. How do I do that in CS4?

So far my fiancé and I haven't been able to find a direct option from bridge to do this either. However we did find that if you open the network from Photoshop CS4, you can drag and drop the network from there into bridge.
Sucks that you can't do it right from bridge, but at least it's still possible!

  • My iMac can't find my network/TM but wireless works for 3 other computers

All of a sudden my Mac couldn't connect to my wireless network. I ran the Network Diagnostic and my network can't be found...but my two PCs and my iBook in the house are connected to the network and are working...I tried Airport Utility but it doesn't "see" my Time Machine at all...is this an iMac problem or a Time Machine problem? I've rebooted my iMac and nothing...i've rebooted my TM and nothing...

Having you tried shutting everything down, waiting a few minutes, then turn on your cable modem, wait, turn on your TC, wait, then turn on your Macs and peripherals one at a time.
    Of course check cables, too.

  • HT4061 How can i find my ipad with the serial number

How can I find my iPad with serial number

I had FindMyPhone installed and activated on MY Lost iPad (now with a new "owner") and it NEVER worked EVER!
There is/was no such thing as FindMyiPad...ONLY FindMyPhone. It WAS installed (I dont own an iPhone) AND activated! I suspect that unless you have 4G device it is worthless. Actually I  know this for a fact!
AND, I knew that the new "Owner" had gone online (despite FindMyPhone telling me otherwise and NEVER locking my iPad) because Dropbox on my laptop suddenly had new photos that were taken by the new "owner".
I am now of the mind that Apple does not want us to find our lost or stolen gadgets. They make money off  us when we replace them. Do what I am going to do: BUY USED!
So sorry, I feel your pain.

  • IMac can't find network printers

We have 4 Macs in the office and a bank of 4 printers all of which have been working great and connecting together for a while with no issues. However in the last few days the iMac can't find 2 of the printers. We tried to reload them through Print and Scan preferences but they didn't appear in the preferences. Checked all the cabling and hub and everything seems OK. Booted the iMac in Safe Mode and it could see them both straight away, rebooted the iMac and again they did not appear in the list, Tried to share one of the printers from a MacPro and it appeared in the list however sometimes it just won't print to it, it seems to print but nothing appears at the printer. Since then we have reinstalled Mavericks, Verified and Repaired Permissions, Verified the HD, reset the PRAM, all to no avail.
Apart from that the iMac prints to the other printers on the network without any problem and connects to the other Macs with no problems as well. We're using 10.9.4 on a 2.7GHz iMac with 8GB of memory. The other Macs can all see and print to all the printers. We are using a wired ethernet connection, not wireless.
Has anyone any suggestions as to the problem as it's becoming really annoying now.

    1. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It changes nothing, for better or worse, and therefore will not, in itself, solve the problem. But with the aid of the test results, the solution may take a few minutes, instead of hours or days.
Don't be put off merely by the seeming complexity of these instructions. The process is much less complicated than the description. You do harder tasks with the computer all the time.
    2. If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data before doing anything else. The backup is necessary on general principle, not because of anything in the test procedure. Backup is always a must, and when you're having any kind of trouble with the computer, you may be at higher than usual risk of losing data, whether you follow these instructions or not.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
    3. Below are instructions to run a UNIX shell script, a type of program. As I wrote above, it changes nothing. It doesn't send or receive any data on the network. All it does is to generate a human-readable report on the state of the computer. That report goes nowhere unless you choose to share it. If you prefer, you can read it yourself without disclosing the contents to me or anyone else.
You should be wondering whether you can believe me, and whether it's safe to run a program at the behest of a stranger. In general, no, it's not safe and I don't encourage it.
In this case, however, there are a couple of ways for you to decide whether the program is safe without having to trust me. First, you can read it. Unlike an application that you download and click to run, it's transparent, so anyone with the necessary skill can verify what it does.
You may not be able to understand the script yourself. But variations of the script have been posted on this website thousands of times over a period of years. The site is hosted by Apple, which does not allow it to be used to distribute harmful software. Any one of the millions of registered users could have read the script and raised the alarm if it was harmful. Then I would not be here now and you would not be reading this message.
Nevertheless, if you can't satisfy yourself that these instructions are safe, don't follow them. Ask for other options.
    4. Here's a summary of what you need to do, if you choose to proceed:
☞ Copy a line of text in this window to the Clipboard.
☞ Paste into the window of another application.
☞ Wait for the test to run. It usually takes a few minutes.
☞ Paste the results, which will have been copied automatically, back into a reply on this page.
The sequence is: copy, paste, wait, paste again. You don't need to copy a second time. Details follow.
    5. You may have started the computer in "safe" mode. Preferably, these steps should be taken in “normal” mode, under the conditions in which the problem is reproduced. If the system is now in safe mode and works well enough in normal mode to run the test, restart as usual. If you can only test in safe mode, do that.
    6. If you have more than one user, and the one affected by the problem is not an administrator, then please run the test twice: once while logged in as the affected user, and once as an administrator. The results may be different. The user that is created automatically on a new computer when you start it for the first time is an administrator. If you can't log in as an administrator, test as the affected user. Most personal Macs have only one user, and in that case this section doesn’t apply. Don't log in as root.
    7. The script is a single long line, all of which must be selected. You can accomplish this easily by triple-clicking anywhere in the line. The whole line will highlight, though you may not see all of it in the browser window, and you can then copy it. If you try to select the line by dragging across the part you can see, you won't get all of it.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Click anywhere in the Terminal window and paste by pressing command-V. The text you pasted should vanish immediately. If it doesn't, press the return key.
    9. If you see an error message in the Terminal window such as "Syntax error" or "Event not found," enter
    exec bash
and press return. Then paste the script again.
    10. If you're logged in as an administrator, you'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You will not see the usual dots in place of typed characters. Make sure caps lock is off. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you make three failed attempts to enter the password, the test will run anyway, but it will produce less information. In most cases, the difference is not important. If you don't know the password, or if you prefer not to enter it, press the key combination control-C or just press return  three times at the password prompt. Again, the script will still run.
If you're not logged in as an administrator, you won't be prompted for a password. The test will still run. It just won't do anything that requires administrator privileges.
    11. The test may take a few minutes to run, depending on how many files you have and the speed of the computer. A computer that's abnormally slow may take longer to run the test. While it's running, there will be nothing in the Terminal window and no indication of progress. Wait for the line
    [Process completed]
to appear. If you don't see it within half an hour or so, the test probably won't complete in a reasonable time. In that case, close the Terminal window and report what happened. No harm will be done.
    12. When the test is complete, quit Terminal. The results will have been copied to the Clipboard automatically. They are not shown in the Terminal window. Please don't copy anything from there. All you have to do is start a reply to this comment and then paste by pressing command-V again.
At the top of the results, there will be a line that begins with the words "Start time." If you don't see that, but instead see a mass of gibberish, you didn't wait for the "Process completed" message to appear in the Terminal window. Please wait for it and try again.
If any private information, such as your name or email address, appears in the results, anonymize it before posting. Usually that won't be necessary.
    13. When you post the results, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "You are not authorized to post." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the test results on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
    14. This is a public forum, and others may give you advice based on the results of the test. They speak only for themselves, and I don't necessarily agree with them.

  • Photosmart b209a can't find wireless network.

I've only had this printer for three days. The "Easy One Button" process to get it to find a network failed. It cannot find my wireless network.
I'm using XP Professional on my laptop. McAfee Virus scanning and Firewall. (Not that it matters if the printer can't find the wireless network)
I have a DSL D-link router with NO MAC filtering and yet when I print the Wireless Network Test Report it gives me this whole spiel on MAC address filtering and asks to add the MAC address of the printer to the router... but there's no offered solution if MAC filtering is turned off.
I've changed my router security key from WEP to WPA-PSK.
I've managed to get it to connect twice... and to print a test page on separate days. I have no idea what it is I do that gets it 'online' but it doesn't seem to last.
I have spent several hours over the past three days (wasting entire days) trying to work out what the problem is. I have read forum posts; I have googled for solutions. The troubleshooting guide for the printer seems hopeless.
The printer is on the same desk as the router with only a computer monitor between them.
When I print the HP Network Configuration Page it states the status of the 802.11 Wireless is "Disconnected". The printer's wireless light is on, showing that the wireless radio is working on the printer.
I bought HP because my last printer was HP and it was excellent (but not wireless). If I can't get it to go online, seriously, I'll take it back and exchange it for a different brand of printer. All I want is a printer I can print to wirelessly, is that so hard to ask? Yes, I'm getting really frustrated here. I live in a rural area and I don't have access to geek friends or a computer professional or anything like that and returning the printer requires a two hour drive so I have to be as self-sufficient as possible. Please, try not to use too many technical terms. I can understand some but not all and if anybody can help me, please be clear in their instructions (ie, don't just say 'go to setup blah blah blah' without saying which setup you're talking about.)
Thanks for any help. It is appreciated.

Yes, the desktop is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.
    Yes the laptop is wireless.
The printer is connected to the router via wireless (which I've already stated, it keeps losing the wireless network).
If I don't have my printer connected to the desktop via cable, then I won't have any printing capability at all, because, as I just said, the printer keeps losing the wireless network! I need at least some way of printing when the printer can't find the network (even though the wireless network is working perfectly fine).
So, desktop connected to router with cable.
    Laptop is wireless
Printer is wireless for laptop use (but it keeps losing the network and therefore is totally useless in that respect)
Printer is connected to desktop via cable to enable printing because of wireless continuing to lose connection to wireless network.
In fact my printer hasn't been able to connect to the wireless network for 2 days now... even though I'm currently connected to it on my wireless laptop.
Sometimes the printer finds the network, sometimes it doesn't and when it does, if I try to print from the laptop wirelessly, the printer loses the network.
This really is poor product and the installation manual might as well be used for toilet paper for all its worth, same with the 'help' feature on the disk. I only chose HP because I was familiar with it, since my previous printer was HP and reliable (but not wireless). I'm seriously wishing I'd purchased a different brand.
I'm not an IT tech, but I've managed to be able to connect modems and routers and other peripherals to my network without too much hassle at all... until now.
I'm sorry if I sound angry but this is completely frustrating. I spent good money for a product that I am unable to use for the main purpose I bought it! I'm reduced to saving things to USB sticks and physically taking them to the desktop computer and having to print from there.

  • My iphone 4 can't find a network

I bought my iphone 4 in Ny and brought to Brazil. It was working fine till last Friday. It can't find a network anymore. It says on the upper left corner "no service" instead of showing the carrier name and its signal. I tried to contact my carrier but it seems to be everything fine, I even tried de microchip on my Ipad and it worked perfectly, so it should be a proclem with the phone.
I tried to reset the device, but nothing seems to work.
Anyone could help me on this, please!!!
    (excuse my lousy english, please!)

    1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
    2. If that doesn't work, use this article for troubleshooting: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1398
    3. If that doesn't solve the issue, backup the device and restore it as new.
    In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
If you get specific error messages/codes in iTunes when updating/restoring, check this: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694 for causes and solutions
If you restore your iPhone to factory settings without a backup and still can't detect/connect to any network, you should offer the device for service.
    Good luck

I updated my 4S phone to IOS 7.1.2 and lost my wi-fi.   The wi-fi is on, but can't find ANY networks.   I have been through all the steps, from turning the phone on and off, resetting the network settings, resetting the whole phone, redownloading 7.1.2 and lastly going to the Apple store for help.   They tried all the exact same steps I did, took the phone apart and looked at and said it is in "pristine" condition.   They have no idea why it isn't working, but they could offer to sell me another phone.    This is extremely annoying!    They claim it has nothing to do with the update to 7.1.2, but that is when I lost the wi-fi, so it has to be related!

My 4s i-phone which is 2 years old cannot find any wi-fi networks not even my home network... I had the same problem two months ago but i turned off the i-phone for 8 hours and then it was okay... Now it happened again.... I tried to restart the modem but whilst my laptop is connected regularly, my phone still cannot find any wi-fi networks... I restart the i-phone, i reset it, i chose reset network settings, reset all settings, i turned it off for a whole day in case it was overloaded, i turned on the airplane mode and turned it off again, i put it into the freezer for 10 minutes within a zipped bag but 3 days now and i still cannot be connected to my home wifi... I went to the technician today and he told me that it means that wi-fi is broken and that i need to change it with a charge of 70 euro but i have to give my phone for 10 working days so as to be fixed... I am so frustrated and i don't know if i want to give 70 euro for wifi since i don't know if it would make the same problems again...

  • IPhone 4s can't find cellular network.  iPad logged right on. Tried soft reset and two button reset, neither worked. In Detroit airport any ideas?

Iphone 4s can't find cellular network in Detroit airport. iPad logged right on. Tried reset network and hard boot and airplane off on. No luck. Any ideas?

So, I can see that nobody had any ideas.  In case anyone is interested, I did cave and get an Airport Extreme.  My iPhone 4s connected in about 3 seconds, as did my MacBook, my iMac and my old 3G phone.  The router is in the EXACT SAME SPOT as my Netgear router.  No reception problems, no dropping wifi.
The Sony Blu-Ray connected on the second attempt, but the TiVos are another story.  Reset my N-adapters to factory default and then did setup, found the network just fine assured me that my wifi was configured to the new router, but the TiVos refuse to connect.  It's always something! lol  I'm sure somebody can tell me how to fix this.

  • Upgraded as prompted, noiw it can't find my network

I was prompted to upgrade airport express software, but after I did ("successful" it said) it searches but can't find my network. I ran airport utility and it found no problems.

Apple have messed up big with teh latest updates to a lot of things they have been forcing upon you. Itunes 10.2 destroyed Airtunes, and something Apple did has caused my network, which has been like a rock for 6 years working flawlessly, to act so erratically that I just don't care anymore. I now have AEX devices flashing yellow and not seen on Airport utility, yet I can play music through airtunes on them. I have an Airport extreme connected to the cable modem to use as a wireless router that will disappear from the utility, yet my internet connection over wireless is unaffected.
It is so FUBAR'd right now I have stopped caring, and will have to wait for Apple to fix all the problems they created with these new updates they are rolling out for purposes I don't really understand.
It is a system that once worked flawlessly as advertised, to something that I don't even try to use anymore. It's frustrating, but what can you do. I just try to complain to Apple enough until I feel I have been heard. I keep my fingers crossed with each update to fix the problems that obviously exist, and each time the updates make the system even worse.

  • HT4199 Mountain Lion OS can't find my Network

I recently installed Mountain Lion OS last night so I could have AirPlay for my new Apple TV.  Now my iMac can't find my WiFi network which worked fine before I downloaded the new OS.  How do I fix this? Ugh

I have rebooted both the computer and the router.  It won't show my Network after installation of Mountain Lion. Worked fine before on my old OS system.  The Mac guy told me to buy it and download after I bought my Apple TV this weekend so I can stream web content.  I don't know if my router to set up for a private network, how do I found that out?
    Thanks!

i lost my phone and it is switched off now...how can i find my phone with find my iphone app active thru icloud?? pls help me.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can only locate your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.
Unfortunately, you cannot activate iCloud or 'Find My Phone' remotely.

  • Imac can´t find TC after upgrade

I have tried to upgrade my TC from 7.3.2 to both 7.4.1 and 7.4.2. On both the upgrades my imac can´t find TC via airport, and are not able to connect to Internet. Works OK with Ethernet cable though. My daughters macbook does not have the same issue, and has no problem finding TC after upgrade. I use this to downgrade to 7.3.2 after trying every possible option in system settings. On version 7.3.2 everything works perfect.
    Some additional information:
I also have to airport express agents connected to the TC (one for airtunes and one to my printer). I also have an Apple TV connected. All are older models and does only work on the g standard. upgrading I have also had some issues with one of my airport express agents and my Apple TV.
My imac is placed almost beside the TC so there is no signal problem.
Anyone has a clue? or am I doomed to stay on version 7.3.2 forever?

Apple issued airport update. Issue seems to be solved.

  • After two hours working my iMac can't find HD

After two hours working my iMac can't find HD.
If I will try to start the iMac again, it starts showing only a white screen.
I have done all the things that apple says except format to solve the problem.
The problem stops only if I leave the computer for a while without working.
The Hardware Test finds nothing and Verify Disk says that HD seems to be OK.

If the problem with white screen apears the computer can't start even in safe mode.
Yesterday, I tryed to format HD but I couldn't because the system could not find HD. Disk Utility from Installation Disk could not find either HD.
I closed it and after 30 minutes I tried once again to open it.
The computer started without any problem like magic and all worked perfectly.
Then, my first job was to verify disk and showed that everything was OK.
Then I restarted the iMac and same problem started again...
