IMac constantly crashes upon different tasks... can someone read the crash report?
Hello folks!
I have a new iMac late 2013 27inch that crashes quite often...
I never had a computer that crashed THAT often...
I found out that it has to to with my external blurry drive (i think) because the crash appears when the computer tries to read a disc.
I have Mavericks on that iMac. With my Macbook Air with Mavericks and the drive (and all my MacBooks before that) I never had a problem...
But this iMac just crashes when it tries to read a Bluray (I watch them with MacGo Bluray Player). But it already crashes without the Application being even open...
Then lately, while typing university work in pages, the computer crashed again! With no drive or any USB device attached (except keyboard).
I already had it a whole week at the apple store for stress test just to let them me "there is nothing wrong".
I now have the report from that last crash and as I remember, some of you are capable of reading those reports...
So could somebody please take a look and maybe find out what is wrong?

Can someone read my crash log & see why DSP crashes just before burning????
i have allll the latest versions, including the pro apps stuff, trashed preferences, reset all settings, verified permissions, purged pram, rebooted, rebuilt the entire project,etc. etc...everything anyone knows to do, yet after build and format, just before actually going to burn to disk, DSP crashes. every time. i have 3 different crash logs, if anyone knows how to read them, and wants to see the other 2. Hi,
I'm using an app called Unisyn. It's purpose to is to catalogue synthesizer configurations. The editor/librarian communicates using System Exclusive code, in hex, based on the MIDI protocol developed years ago. Manufacturers all have specific ID's built into the header files.
It works fine with my present day synths, however I recently purchased an older product which has been buggy at best. It has documentation and per the user manual it is supported. I've managed to create a profile successfully, but when I attempt to edit the parameters my Unisyn 2.1.1 crashes, consistently. Below I have pasted the crash log.

Apparently this UDF takes two optional parameters so that one
can define
(A) a text "qualifier" to use in the CSV file, this is
usually the
single quote|tick ['] mark - but sometimes one wants this to
be a
different character and (B) what columns to use in the
output in case
one does not want to use all the columns in the record set
in the
outputted CSV file.
The if statements are checking for these optional parameters
and if
found setting the values in them to internal variables.
These
variables are then used in the rest of the logic to create
the CSV output.

I have the latest downloadable version of LR5. It crashed while it was createing 1:1 previews during an import. After a Win7(64) restart, it shows a message that LR needs to quit because it can't read the preview files and it will try to fix it the next time is launches. I get the same message the next and every subsequent time it launches so I can't launch LR at all now.
I get that the preview file got corrupted somehow. Is there some way to fix this problem without building a new catalog?Use Windows Explorer to open the folder containing your catalog. You will see a folder with the extension .lrdata. You need to delete that folder and then start Lightroom again. Lightroom will generate a new previews folder.

My iMac suddenly can't read the backup hard drive I've been using for Time Machine. I tried unplugging the cord that connects the HD to the iMac and plugging it back in, but I still get "The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer" below which are buttons for Initialize, Ignore and Eject. I was using a cord that went from larger square plug to larger square plug. So then I tried one that went from smaller square plug to what I think is USB (thin rectangular plug) of the sort that connects the keyboard and mouse. It's the type that my printers and scanners use to connect to the iMac. I did NOT just upgrade the OS or anything. The external HD is an OWC Mercury Elite All Pro. It's worked fine since I got the iMac 4 years ago. What else can I try before just trying to initialize and
Thanks, Michael! I do hear it at times spooling up and running. Just after I bumped the thread I looked for troubleshooting for this drive online and found the manual which suggested using Disk Utility which I've seen before accidentally (if I hit Command Shift U instead of Shift U to type "Unit" on a new folder for a student's homework ) but had never really noticed. Disk Utility does see it and also a sub-something (directory?) which might be the Time Machine archives on the disk, called disk1s2), sort of the way that my iMac's hard drive shows up as 640.14 GB Nitachi HDT7... and has a sub-something titled DB iMac, which is what I named my iMac's hard drive.
Anyway the owner's manual just shows the image under the formatting section, not the troubleshooting section, but as soon as I saw it in the manual I remembered seeing it accidentally a few times, went to it, and am now verifying the disk. Right now it's telling me that it will take 2 hours to complete the verification, so I guess I have a bigt of a wait. :-)
Does that fact that Disk Utilities can see it mean it's not failed, or just that it hasn't completely failed?
I can see the virtue in having multiple redundant backups, or at least two backups. What do you suggest? Two external hard drives? I had this one linked by ethernet, and but I also have a cord that could link it by USB (like a printer), so if this one is reparable I could get a second one and link it by USB. If this one is not reparable I could get two and do the same thing. I do have an Airport so I suppose it's possible to get some sort of Wi-Fi hard drive (my new printer/scanner uses only the network and not a cable, although it has a cable that I used for the initial installation), but I'd suspect a Wi-Fi hard drive might have a higher price.
What hard drives, if any, do you recommend? I seem to recall that when I was looking at external hard drives 4 years ago, Apple's were substantially more expensive, which is why I got the OWC Mercury Elite All Pro. -

Firefox crashes and when attempting to launch after the crash it won't launch; throwing an error msg that " js.3250 can't be found" - but same file is in Mozilla directory.
I must then download new 3.6.8 and lose all tabs and history.I have a similar problem. Recently my FF8 has been crashing a lot. It regularly locks up an entire core of my PC and often just shuts down. It has just done it a moment ago and when it started back up it did the whole "this is embarrassing" thing and asked me if I wanted to reload my tabs. I deselected the one that I was trying to view as I suspected that it may have been the cause (unlikely; it was node4.co.uk) but anyway, let's skip it just in case. Click on the button to restore and up pops my homepage only. So all of my other tabs, which I was using for work incidentally, are gone.
This is not the first time this has happened on FF8. It happened a lot recently on FF6 I think it was (so hard to keep track now, Mozilla) and I switched to Chrome as a result, but it turns out that it crashes even more than FF6 did. FF7 was a vast improvement but FF8 is so unstable/unpredictable for me at the moment that I think I'd rather use IE9 than this. It's driving me mental, clearly! I wish I could kill the process manually and have it retry restoring tabs. Hey, there's an idea Mozilla; give us a menu item that allows us to restore the session to how it started to try again or at the very least get a list of the pages we were looking at. They don't show up in Recently Closed Windows and the Restore Previous Session is greyed out too. Gah! Help! -

Can someone explain the hyperthreading setting in the CMOS Setup - mine is set to 5x, which I think is correct for my cpu - Venice 3500+, but I don't really know what it does. What does that setting affect? I think it was 4x by default, until I loaded optimal settings, and it went to 5x.....HT = Hyper Transport

Can someone explain the difference between width, maxWidth, explicitWidth, explicitMaxWidth of the UI component? I read the API and I have no idea what do they mean.
Width is the current width. ExplicitWidth is set if you give an component
an explicit width vs a temporary width via setActualSize.
MaxWidth and minWidth factor in either the measuredMax/MinWidth or one set
explicitly. -
I have creative suite 5.5 and have recently updated my iMac to Yosemite. Now I can't open the adobe apps. I have done the suggested Java update and mac OS X Java patch update.. still no go. Can you HELP?
uninstall, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) the install using the installation files. do not migrate adobe programs.

Well plug it in again, and then hold the "Lock" and "Home" button at the same time for about 10 seconds. See if that helps.

I'm after a definitive answer as to whether you can do internal load balancing with Roles as its a highly desirable feature but also i've seen conflicting information on it. For instance the following Azure blog article suggests you can but I can't f
