IMac decides when it wants to startup

i was looking at buying an imac but the description said that it decides when it wants to start up, they said that it would work for a couple of weeks and then not work for several days they also went on to say that the fans would start as normal but then stop and the startup would not proceed, they had also done a clean re-install of OS X
24" aluminium Imac - 2.4ghz, 2Gig ram, 300Gig HD running OS X

in safe mode works perfectly,soon as I try to boot in normal mode it's keep restarting.on screen I don't see any line vertical or horizontal picture look normal on safe mode.but unable to start normal it just restarting over and over.I try another HDD but same things happen,I replace memory but still same.works ok in safe mode but not in normal mode.I will try to post system error report.

Hi I have an Imac I5 21.5 inch.It was working perfectly.Then i didnt use that for about 2 months. Week ago when i want to start the Imac ,it didnt start.
When press and hold or keep on pressing the power button then i hear the fans are working and i get a continuous beep( but low freqency tone).

I started on the installation CD OS X 10.4.2, I used Disk Utility
to partition the disk according to the document that you have proposed. unfortunately
I have not succeeded. When I partition the disk, even if I called it Macintosh HD, it
does not keep the name and it shows disk0s3 instead. I did an erase on disk.
When I mount the disk it tells me that I must repair. When I tried to repair, I got
the following message:
Volume check failed
The underflying task reported failure on exit
1 HFS volume checked
1 volume could not be repaired because of an error.
I also had a message:
Invalid b-tree node size.
Note: The disc is new, but it has already been formatted on a computer Imac 27 inch 2011 OS X Lion.
I used a USB 2.0 to SATA cable to adjust the formatting.
What to do to fix it?

Tried your suggestion various ways but it had no effect the download button was still greyed out and the install button would not activate will keep trying to find a solution. I dont want to boot from the external hard drive that has Lion on mainly because it is a usb HD and the connection to my wireless modem slows the connection rate and downloading would take about ten hours

IMac bongs when attempted startup

Today I got a new apple TV. It appears to have killed my iMac, although I have been getting random crashes before.
It has been crashing randomly since I switched on time machine. I unplugged the harddrive I was backing up to and this seemed to stop them. However, today I got my new appleTV and set it up with my iMac and it worked beautifully.
Then it couldn't see the computer. So I went upstairs to find it wasn't on - crashed. Now, when I try to startup I get 3 bongs, 3 sec silence, 3 bongs and so it goes.
Typically my iMac is now just out of it's 1 yr warranty!
I'm running Snow Leopard, but can't boot up to see exact version number.
Help!

Hi, well if the diagnosis is Bad Ram, I would at least call Apple Corp Customer Relations & speak with them..explain the situation & although I cannot guarantee the outcome, they may be able to assist.
You can purchase Ram @ reasonable costs from various sites, OWC come to mind but there are others..
As long as you get the Correct Ram for your computer fitting is relatively easy..here are some links..

I'm sorry for my bad english, my problem is that I want the program I open in a new window to be avilable in full screen mode. Before I uppdated my os to Montaine Lion I could choose wide under screen in settings. I'll take an ex for you. This is probabaly caused by the resume feature. When you log out, uncheck the box that appears.

I have found a solutiton to the problem I was having. I hope that many more can benefit from the information I will provide.
I started at Finder, then went to GO selected COMPUTER and then Machintosh HD, then Library, Scripting Additions folder and trashed all that was there. This is what worked for me, if you choose to not delete your content its up to you. Happy Computing.

I have an iMac 8, 1 that I upgraded Leopard to Snow Leopard. It was totally updated with the latest from Apple when I bought and tried installing Lion. The upgrade failed, shot my OS and I couldn't boot. Had the constant spinner on a grey screen.. did a format of the drive, hdd repair and everything came back clean... got back to Snow Leopard and all the updates on it again and then retried the Lion thing... same bs... dead duck. Crashed my system one too many times. I can't see where a few small changes, mostly app related can be classified as an OS upgrade and is not compatible with my iMac. I have the stuff running on my Mac Pro but have yet to notice anything impressive. I've always used F3 and really didn't require Mission Control. Just open you app folder for launch pad... duh? I use the hot corners anyhow. As far as Safari is concerned... as a power user, Apple missed the boat on that for me.. full screen etc.. Wow. I don't like the new Mail either..
As you can see/read, I'm less than impressed with this release from Apple but I own so many of their products that I will have to put up with it for now... somehow the MS logo should apply to this release Steve.

Call the apple store you got it from and ask them. Sometimes in the past they've extended the 'no questions asked return' but only Apple can tell you for sure.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

Actually i was just thinking,if any company wants to run the mrp for planning than how to decide,when to run the mrp(daily,weekly,monthly).
One of the factor,while deciding this could be the raw material procurements,right?if they procure raw material once in a month than they should run the mrp once in a month.(even we can control this by keeping monthly lot size,if you run the mrp every week).
What could be the other reasons?

As said by our other forum friends it depends on the business requirement.
In one of my project as the client were recieving monthly plan for their production MRP was carried out monthly.
It can be based on the production plan or say sometimes the maximum lead time for producing a product.
