IMac dimensions without foot?

Can anyone please post the measurements of the G5 iMac main unit, without the foot stand?
Planning to remove the foot for travel, so I need to know if it will fit in my carry-on.
17" and 20" please, if you can. (I know the new ones are a little thinner, but the old measurements will be good enough for me to work with.)
Thanks a lot!

The Apple store shows the depth of the 24" iMac as 1.24". The stand depth shows 8.1" in case you need that as well. I don't have a 24" so I can't really comment further. Hope that helps.

  • 24" iMac dimensions without stand (Specifically depth)

Can anyone give the dimensions of a 24" iMac without the stand?
I'm interested specifically in the depth with the VESA mount attached and how much space would be needed in addition to this to mount on the wall if there wouldn't be enough room to attach the VESA plate directly to the wall.
    Thanks in advance,
    Andy

  • I just purchased a 24" iMac A1225 without a hard drive.   Can I transfer the drive from my old 17" iMac, with OS 10.68 installed on it, or do I have to clone, migrate or reinstall?

Aha OK then, that should work fine.
The only snag might be, if your missing the original thermal sensor from the original 24" Hard Drive.
Then again, you should be able to use the one that came from the original 17" Hard Drive.

  • MDX : How to use filter on a dimension without showing it OR merge 2 attributes of the same dimension?

    Hello everyone,
I'm kind of newbie with MDX language, I'm trying to get filtered measures from a cube with a specific layout.
    Here is my exemple :
I want to get all the "order numbers" where the "invoice" cost is more than 300.  Each invoice is linked with an ID, one order number can have several invoices.
So what I do is a select request with 2 dimensions : "order num" and "id_invoice"
Here is the result : I get all the cost sorted by "order num" and I can easealy identify those who are above 300

How is it possible to use a filter on a dimension without showing it or merge 2 attributes of the same dimension ?
The problem is that if I show "id" column, the filter doesn't work properly : it compares 300 with the total cost of the whole order and does not compare with each invoice (which could be under 300 ! - see "KO" in Total2 column)
Here is the request I use to generate this result :
    with
    member [Measures].[Total]
    as (
    [TP].[ID INVOICE].[All],
    [TP].[ORDER NUM].currentmember,
    [Measures].[COST]
    member [Measures].[Total2]
    as (
    IIF([Measures].[COST] >
    300, "ok",
    "KO")
    select
    {[Measures].[COST],[Measures].[Total],[Measures].[Total2]}
    on
    columns,
    Filter
                 [TP].[ORDER NUM].[ORDER
    NUM].members *
                 [TP].[ID INVOICE].[ID
    INVOICE].members
                 ,[Measures].[COST]

Thank you  for your help !
    Kind regards,
    Olivier.

    Hi Olivier,
hereunder a similar query against the AW. For all order numbers, we sum all lines above 30 without diplaying the line numbers:
    WITH
    MEMBER [Measures].[lines above 30] AS
    IIF(
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount] > 30,
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount],
    null
MEMBER [Measures].[aggr lines above 30] AS
    SUM(
    exists(
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Line].[Sales Order Line],
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].currentmember
    [Measures].[lines above 30]
    SELECT
    [Measures].[Internet Sales Amount],
    [Measures].[aggr lines above 30]
    } ON 0,
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].[Sales Order Number] ON 1
    FROM ( SELECT
    [Product].[Category].[All Products] ON 0,
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].&[SO51177]:
[Internet Sales Order Details].[Sales Order Number].&[SO51178]
    } ON 1
    FROM [Adventure Works] )
I reduced the cube with a subselect.
    Philip,

  • Roles for the user to Edit the Dimension without being an administrator

    Dear Users,
I have a query based on Planning security.
I want the user to edit the dimensions and members in planning application. However, the user cannot be administrator.
I have created a user and assigned the role of "Interactive User" on Planning roles and of "Dimension Editor" on Shared Services access. With this provisioning user the "Administration-->Dimension" is grayed out for the user.
Please suggest if roles can be assigned to the user in order to Edit the Dimension without being an administrator?
    Regards,
    Praveen.

I am sure this question gets asked over and over, they need to be an administrator.
    Cheers

  • Firefox 4 unable to use on imac G5 ( without intel chips ), get messageYou can't open the application bcz it is not supported on this architecture.

My iMac G5 without intel chips, Mac OS X 10.5.8.
using Firefox 364 no problem at all.
But unable to install Firefox 4 on it, prompt "You can't open the application because it is not supported on this architecture"

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
There is a third-party version of Firefox 4 that works on PPC Macs, for details see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox

  • Can I swap the power supply on my iMac G5 without any unwanted side effects?

    Hi All,
I'm new and have searched related posts, but have not found an answer to this exact question.
I have a first generation US version iMac G5. The label says that the power supply is 100-120V. Can I swap the power supply using an internationally rated power supply (100-240V) from a later version iMac G5 without any unwanted side effects? Such as the iMac G5 ALS power supply?
I live China and would prefer not to rely on an external power suppressor or convertor. I would prefer to plug and go.
    Thanks,
    SGP

I bought a new iMac preloaded without a backup disc and I now want to reconfigure the administrator as I've forgotten the details I entered initially?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
New Macs do not come with DVDs to reinstall Mac OS X. Instead, you have got OS X Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
If you have forgotten your user account password, you can still reset it through OS X Recovery by following these steps > http://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-4101 You may need to do some work with the keychain after resetting your password > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1631?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

    Nope!
You can get replacement System Install & Restore CD/DVDs from Apple's Customer Support - in the US, (800) 767-2775 - for a nominal S&H fee. You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available.
If you're not in the US, you may need to go through the regional Apple Store that serves your location to find the contact number. Here's a list of links to all of those - http://store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/intlstoreroutingpage.html  Another resource:  International Support Phone #s.

  • How do i delete the old users account on my second hand imac g5 without the origonal disc

im new to imacs and not sure how to delete the old users account without the origonal disc

First of all, you need to make sure your current user account (the one you intend to keep) is an administrator account (not standard).
Go to System Preferences Accounts pane.  Click the lock, if it's locked, and enter your authorization, to unlock.
In the sidebar, you will see the list of user accounts.  To delete a user account, select it on the list and click the minus sign.

  • My IMac has stopped seeing the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes on saying it is looking to pair with the IMac but without success. I am left with the IMac switched on and I am unable to enter a password.

I have been using my IMac without a problem when I left it and went back to enter the password the IMac did not see the keyboard. I have changed the batteries and the green light comes up on the keyboard and then starts to flash indicating it is looking for the IMac but nothing happens. I have tried another set of new batteries with the same result. Is there any known problems in this area. The IMac is 5 months old.
    Thank you for any help

What operating system does your iMac have? (please always post your operating system to prevent confustion).
If it's pre-Lion you will have to set Mail up manually:
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Snow Leopard or Leopard
Entering iCloud email settings manually in Tiger

  • What is the best way to backup 20 Imac's without buying 20 time machines?

I would like to use the features of time machine.
I have 20 Imacs and macbook pros on a network. Mixed OS 10.6 and .7 and .8's.
Is there a solution to be able to backup all the Mac's without having to have 20 timemachines?
Yes 90% of all files are stored on a server.
It's mainly when a HDD goes splat that a Time machine backup comes in handy. (reinstalling all the software etc).

The problem I have is that the staff work on very large graphic files before they save them on the main servers.
Space is not the issue. I was thinking of using a NAS (Iomega) 9 TB to act as a time machine, but i beleive that is fine for 1 mac but I would like all 20 odd to backup daily (incremental).
Not too sure if there is third party software out there that can do similar.

  • Is is possible to use the iMac g3 without a mouse

Have a iMac g3 and wanted to know if I can access anything without a mouse, until I can find an original one.
    Thank you

Or you can use the up and down and sideways arrows to navigate through windows.  If you go to System Preferences>Keyboard>keyboard shortcuts, you'll find a long list of actions you can perform without a mouse.

  • Reporting on Degenerate Dimension without using aggregation

    Hi Gurus,
I have 2 fact tables F1 and F2 and a conformed dimension D. Both the fact tables contains degenerate dimensions.
So I have created degenerated dimesnion in BMM layer DDF1 and DDF2 corresponding to F1 and F2 resp.
I want to generate report using DDF1, DDF2 and D without using any column from F1 or F2(basically I dont need any aggregation in my reports, but more than 1 fact table is used).
But I receive error while trying to implement this. I have created the dimensions and defined content mappings for the fact tables.
I had followed the steps given at [http://www.rittmanmead.com/2010/01/oracle-bi-ee-10-1-3-4-1-modeling-degenerate-dimensions-fact-attributes/]
Does this type of reporting without using aggregation possible in OBIEE?
    Thanks in advance.

If you want it in pivot view it is not possible for ad-hoc to give it to end-users without measure columns.
You can do this in table view for only dimension columns wihtout measures easily possible.
If you want the look of pivot and same as results of pivot in your table view then you follow this blog
    http://gerardnico.com/wiki/dat/obiee/table_to_pivot
    UPDATE POST
the rittman blog mentioned follow that properly every step is given correctly, according to me your doing mistake at degenerate dimensions or conformed dimensions...that is why the error is throwing on the fact column that you are using. Please setup once again each and every step correctly you will achieve it.
    Cheers,
    KK
