Just purchased an ipad mini and was wanting to transfer some pictures via bluetooth from my Imac to my Ipad mini? Is this possible?
They are paired but when it goes to transfer files, it says connection lost. Is there another way of transfering files from the computer to the ipad mini?

No, Bluetooth on the iPad is aimed at devices such as keyboards and heapphones : supported Bluetooth profiles.
You can sync photos to the iPad via your comptuer's iTunes. Connect and select your iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (with iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders/albums to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
There are also third-party iPad apps such as Simple Transfer which allow you to copy photos to (and from) the iPad via your wifi network.
For documents you can use the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc.

You still have to sync the photos. Just select the photo albums that you want to sync to the iPad. You can include as many albums as you want and remove whichever ones you don't want to sync.
Connect the iPad to the Mac and launch iTunes.
Click on the iPad name on the left side under devices.
Click on the Photos Tab on the right.
Select the folder from which you want to sync your photos - usually iPhoto on a Mac
Click on all of the albums that you want to include in the sync
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes
Any albums that you don't include in the sync preferences will be removed when you sync. So if you want to keep the albums that are already on the iPad, make sure that stay selected to sync.
If you are running iTunes 11 and do not see the sidebar and the iPad name under the devices heading - go to View>Show Sidebar from the menu at the top.

Headphone volume too loud in Facetime calls - iPad Mini Retina 7.1.1

Hi,
I have an iPad Mini Retina Space grey 32GB Wifi version updated to the newest iOS 7.1.1.
I've noticed that the headphone volume during Facetime calls is always extremely loud even on lowest volume setting and there's no way to lower the volume further down. It's independent of the person I call, and the same problem appears in both in Facetime video and Facetime audio calls.
The bug only appears in the Facetime app and only after inserting the headphones and (not noticable when using the speaker). Setting a volume limit in Settings doesn't affect this loud volume during Facetime calls. I've tried 3 different headphones and I've also done a full reset of the iPad and setting up a completely new iCloud account.
I also have an iPad Mini (1st gen) and an iPhone 4 and I don't experience this bug on those devices.
Have anyone experienced the same bug? Any solution?

pandora? once I got used to it, it bacame second nature to simple reach over and toggle the hotspot off and on. not great if you have the constant need, but if you have the constant need, it wouldnt be shutting down in the first place.
If this is a big issue for you, and there is no persistant wifi available, you might think about a standalone portable hotspot. Pretty much every carrier in the US has one they would be happy to sell you, along with a data plan.
(look on e bay for a used one )

TS3367 Trouble With FaceTime On iPad Mini

I have a new iPad Mini. I have turned on FaceTime in Settings and loaded new contacts who have existing iPads of iPhones. When I try to connect with FaceTime, it gives the message that "FaceTime is turned off in Settings. Do you want to turn it on?" I select "Yes", but the connection is not made. Also, when I add these people as contacts to Facetime, it gives an error each time with the message "Error description not available". Does anyone have any solution to this dilemma?

They both have icloud.com accts., I tried adding their icloud emails but they would not verify. I want us all to use the same iTunes account but have separate face time and email and the iMessage. This is why I did separate iCloud account so we would all have storage and Still be able to use my iTunes account For music and books. They keep getting all my messages and all of my emails and I want us to have separate ones.

Facetime on iPad Mini after IOS 8 was gone.

i have an iPad mini and i have upgrad it to ios 8 after that i tried to connect facetime , and i didnt find the the APP FACETIME and not found in the settings also, i think it should has an update to be fixed.

Is it hidden via Settings > General > Restrictions > FaceTime being set 'off' ?
If not then what country did you buy the iPad in, and what country are you now in ? It's not available in some countries (e.g. UAE, Saudi Arabia), and if bought in the Middle East then from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1937 :

Why is the sync option from iMac to iPad mini not working

I have a IMac and an iPad mini (new)
I have iPassword on my Mac and have set up the option on both Mac and iPad to sync iPassword between the 2 .
Part of this set up is setting up 'secret' word and when on the ipad all i have to do is entering the "secret" word which I have down and use the otpion to Sync Now. in
I does not work - message I receive is " Sync Problem" The operation could'nt be completed Connection refused -
Error domain - NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code +61 - The operation could'nt be completed . Connection refused

Home sharing between itunes (11.0.5) on imac and ipad mini

I activated home sharing to play my itunes music library on my ipod but i have a number of issues when using app music on my ipod:
1. when selecting artists i can only see 4 of them, while there are many more in my imac library
2. if i select the menu "album" on the music app on ipad mini i can see many but not all of them
3. ordering of album by artist does not work: the ordering is random....sure not alphabetic
4. often after palying one or two songs (located on the imac) on the ipad mini everything stops
is it the app music (called "musica" on my italian version of ipad) that is not working well or is there some problem with the homesharing setup or, again, is itunes that is creating the problem?

You may need to recreate your iTunes Library database, as there could be inconsistencies in the database causing inconsitencies.

HT204053 I am unable to sync all contacts on my iMac (which includes outlook for Mac contacts) with my iPad mini, how do I do this, I have enabled icloud on both devices and ticked all the boxes.

No, they are in the On My Mac account in the Mac Contacts app, not iCloud.

Outlook is not compatible with iCloud, check Microsofts site if you need more verification.
If you want them in iCloud use Mac Contacts and move them from On My Mac to iCloud. This will remove them from Outlook.

After looking at movies shared with my imac on my ipad, there is no option to not share the home library. How do I go back to just the movies on my ipad.

I downloaded, through wi-fi sync, a slides how I made on my iMac to my iPad mini. 1) I didn't see the slides how in the video folder 2) I saw a share option in the video screen and chose my iMac Library. Then I saw the video, but I can't play it on my iPad unless I have iTunes connected on my iMac. 3). I cannot find in Preferences, or on the Video folder on my iPad a way to not share my library from my iMac.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

For the iPad mini's you need to utililize an independent verifyible e-mail address for each of them. You can associate these two e-mail addresses with your single Aplle Id. If you supply the ipads with the same email address, you will not be able to make Facetime calls from one to the other, or if you make an FT call from your phones, both ipads would respond. In other words, if you want the ipads to function as individual devices they each need a unique e-mail address assigned to them. To help you with this, I'm including a link to an Apple informational page that will help you in adding neww e-mail addresses to your Apple ID.

You can't.
Messages - the replacement for iChat in Mountain Lion and beyond will do Screen Sharing but only to the accounts it did in iChat 5 and 6 (actually it includes iChat 4 as well)
That is to say in earlier version of iChat you could login to AIM and Jabber servers as well as enabling the Bonjour option to chat on your LAN.
All these will do Video and Audio only chats which in turn means they will Screen Share.
At iChat 6 an Yahoo option was added but it can only Text chat (it can't even send Files or Pics)
This means only the Internet able accounts that login in to AIM or to a Jabber server can Video and therefore Screen Share.
The iMessages account will Invoke FaceTime if you use the Video icon during text chat. (I.e. it is not Video inside the app like the AIM or Jabber accounts can do)
NOTE.
AIM includes Apple Issued Apple ID as Valid AIM Screen Names.
Google Mail ID s can be used and Google Talk IDs with Messages as they run a Jabber server.
Facebook allow you to create a Chat ID (Facebook Chat ID) which is also a Jabber server.
