IMac Flast Panel 800 Freezes ONLY with 10.4.7 (not OS9)

I have replaeced an internal hard drive do to a disk failure.
I have market the disk as Master with the Jumper.
I have replaced the thermal paste.
I have Patitioned the dik into two equal partitions.
I have install 10.4.3 on the new drive, then perfored all Apple Auto Updates.
This computer will run fine for about 45 minutes and then freeze, requiring re-boot, then fine for another approximately 45 minutes. (Energy Saver is set to Not Put System to Sleep).
If I run this computer form an external firewire hard drive, it does not freeze.
I also installed os 9 on the second partistion to further test the computer. When booted into OS9 the computer Does Not Freeze.
I can not find any need for firmware updates.
Any Thoughts?????????

My flat panel G4 800 has begun freezing/crashing -- grey kernel panic screen. I have recently (April) replaced the internal RAM (not user accessible) with a 512M and the hard drive to a 280G, a few years ago I replaced the super-drive and hard drive. The most recent change is the 10.4.7 upgrade. The crash is usually with Mail.app, but that's the most used application. I've left it running memtest and the disk verify (from install DVD). I have reinstalled everything, overwrite install back to 10.4.0, applied the combo update, restored data and a day later.... crash.
I've had every OS X 10.x from 2 upward, and run every point release available. It's been as reliable as a rock, until now.
Is 10.4.7 successfully running on these lovely computers? Is it AGP? Or my RAM or Disk failing?

Connect the phone directly to the computer, not a hub.
Disconnect all other USB devices except keyboard and mouse.
Disable your firewall
Disable your antivirus
In iTunes if it recognizes the phone click "Restore"
If it doesn't recognize the phone:
Disconnect the phone from the phone end, leave the USB cable plugged into the computer
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons until the screen turns black, excactly 10 seconds, then release the SLEEP but continue holding the HOME (If an Apple logo appears you have held SLEEP too long; do it over)
While holding HOME connect the cable to the phone
As soon as iTunes recognizes the phone release the HOME button and it should restore.
If neither procedure works note the exact error message and post it.

New iMac 27, my iPhone WILL sync with iTunes, but does not backup......

I have synced 4 times now, and my phone has not backed up yet in iTunes. I have a new iMac 27", and I use a 3Gs phone. On my windows computer, iTunes performs a backup almost every time I sync it. I have authorized my new iMac. It just wont backup....

Possibly because you have automatic syncing turned on for the Windows computer?

IMac G5 w/iSight freezes up with distorted screen

I have a 20in iMac G5 with iSight and it isn't even six months old yet. At least once a night the screen turns goofy, not really pixilated but kind of crosshatched. (usually from the bottom - up) The mouse still moves but nothing is clickable and I can't get to my dock. Force quit doesn't work and I am forced to restart. I thought I had it narrowed down to two applications that caused it, but last night it froze up while re installing software and listening to iTunes.
As you can tell from my name I am a convert from a pc. I work on both a mac and pc for work and I haven’t had a problem with the Powerbook at all. I love it. I wish I could say the same about my own machine. Currently, I find the new commercials ridiculous with the pc constantly freezing up and the mac is fine. My pc didn't freeze up half this much. I am frustrated because I just lost my recent work for my final project for Grad school and I could have thrown this thing out the window last night. Can someone please help with my frustrations.

I thought the same thing as you. There was no way it was a font but I am relatively new to troubleshooting on a Mac so I didn't argue.

Calibrating my iMac monitor...something wrong with my monitor? Not happy

I have had my iMac since late February and have enjoyed using it.
However what thing that is bother me is that words do not appear very sharp when I am browsing the internet, reading email etc. etc. and I am really getting a little frustrated here.
I have tinkered around with the builtin monitor calibrating tool, but don't think I have had much success.
Does anyone have suggestions on how to calibrate my monitor correctly? I am very picky when I am using my computer so sharpness is huge for me. I want it to be clear, easy to read and easy on the eyes.
Right now, I am questioning if I got sold a half-way decent computer with a crappy monitor and I am not happy about it at all.
Anyone help me out?

For me the *iMac Calibrated* has a greenish/gray tint and lacks any kind of richness, color or depth. Like you I tried and tried to set a profile that I liked and even managed to set a few that weren't to bad.
I found and use an *Epson sRGB* profile that downloaded to my Profile list when I updated my Epson software for Leopard, it's great my displays, prints and scans all match in color and brightness!
Go to the *Display Preferences / Color* and uncheck the box *"Show profiles for this display only"* then try selecting the *Adobe RGB*, *Generic RGB* or the *sRGB IEC61966-2.1* if you have it. I think you will find that they all have a richer look, deeper color and are much easier to look at.

Lumia 800 BlueTooth pairing with Windows 7 PC not ...

Today i tried pairing up my Nokia Lumia 800 with Windows 7 PC, the bluetooth pairing is not working. The Nokia Lumia 800 is saying my Windows 7 PC as 'not supported'. I quite dont understand this behavior, earlier i tried to pair with my other Android phone, same issue. Am I missing anything in this.

2. In the resulting folder will be a text file for each crash report you have submitted. Using the View menu, arrange them by date to find out which is the newest file; and double-click on it to open it.

PS2 Issue only with Neo and Neo2 not Neo 4 or later boards?

I just wondered. Is the so called PS2 issue something that is only relevant to the Neo and Neo2 motherboards, or does it plague the MSI Neo4 Platinum/SLI, MSI Neo4 Diamond, MSI Neo4 Platinum as well?

The issue where the use of a PS2 keyboard or mouse, for certain users, causes the system to freeze during post/boot, or sometimes cause random shutdown or startups. I've found several references to it on this forum. Thats why I want to know more before I decide on which motherboard to get.

Want to restore my computer, but only with a few files; not a complete Time Machine restore

My computer's messing up and I decided I might as well start fresh, but I want some files and folders back obviously.
I take it, I simply need to:
Turn it off
Turn it on and put the install disc into it, meanwhile holding the C key
Install Snow Leopard
Once it's installed, select the external drive I'm using for backups
Open Time Machine, right click on files/folders I want to restore.
What will and won't work? Because, it seems to me you can't redownload movies from iTunes. What about the settings? Is there some sort of .yml or something somewhere that holds them?
And, something I'm dreading, how will I get my programs back? Will I need to reenter the product key? I have Adobe Production Premium CS5.5, should I deactivate it then reenter the product key? What about the plugins for After Effects? Also I have MPEG Streamclip, and when I bought it, I don't remember having to enter any product key.
And my copy of Office for Mac 2011, I bought the 2008 box and it came with instructions of how you're eligible to get 2011 once it's available, when I went to install Office for Mac on my MBA, the offer was no longer available.

OAM 11g: SOA server works only with localhost or hostname, not IP address

I have weblogic 10.3.3 up and running (no errors) and successfully start the SOA server (no errors). I can access the URLs for Weblogic and OIM using http://ipaddress:portno/servername.
However, I can access the SOA server only using localhost in the URL or the hostname (http://localhost:8001/soa-infra or http://hostname:8001/soa-infra). If I try using the IP address I get a 401 error. Is there some setting I'm missing? I tried adding the ipaddress to the hosts file on the server but no effect.
Since I can't use the IP address, in effect I can't connect to it from outside the localhost or use it for JDeveloper.
Any suggestions?

So I tried something else, on my IE browser, for LAN settings, Bypass proxy server for local addresses is checked. But I added the IP address of my soa server to the Exceptions section under Advanced. That seems to have resolved my issue! I can now use the IP address and get to my SOA server. I didn't think of trying this because my OIM and weblogic server were accessible without this setting.

Run kdmconfig, if you are using xsun, switch to xorg.
Configure xorg with:
/usr/X11/bin/xorgconfig
Far not all display adapters are supported, make sure that you are using one of the list from xorgconfig.

iMac G5 boots to gray screen with apple logo only.
What I've tried:
Won't boot to safe mode.
Reset PRAM several times.
Won't boot to install disk with "C" depressed at startup.
Will boot to screen showing HD and arrow buttons when "alt" depressed at startup. But clicking HD icon and proceed arrow just goes back to the gray screen with apple logo. Note the HD icon has a blue "x" symbol.
With install disc in, will boot with "alt" depressed at startup to three icons, HD, install disc, and apple hardware test. Both HD and install disc icons have the blue "x" symbol and won't run. BUT the apple hardware test icon doesn't have a blue "x" and runs. Extended test says all hardware OK.
Finally, startup in single user mode with "apple-s" depressed goes to a non-gui white text (UNIX core?) which gives blocks of repetitive text starting "unresolved kernal trap (cpu0)...(lots of date)...latest crash.....backtrace:" My rough guide to the Mac gives me text to enter at that point but I can't input to the screen.
That's where I'm stuck.

These are often attributed to hardware problems though they can also be due to corruption of software. Since you're also encountering it with your DVD I'd tend more towards the former. Your computer seems to be passing the early stage POST tests for RAM. Apple Hardware Test also seems to be passing but [X-Lab: The Apple Hardware Test|http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/aht.html] document recommends using this in loop mode to test for intermittent problems.
Sometimes the crash logs (all the error messages you are seeing) contain information about the problem, but there's an art to reading those.

This recently happened to me. I am a novice, but it seemed like that project got corrupted some how.
I deleted it.
Went to time machine and picked it up again when I knew it was working ok.
I lost a few hours of work, but not the entire project.
Once I had the project back from time machine, it worked fine (but like I said, I lost a little bit of work).

Go into Time Machine (the program not the bundle on the extrnal disk) and using Time Machine's browser go to the Folder where the library lives. You could look in the library bundle in Time Machine but that won't really tell you much,
If you want to make sure it truely has backed up your library you will need to restore it and open the restored library with Aperture.
If all this still has you confused you need to read up on Time Machine in order to get a feel for how it works, for what it is doing and for how to restore files from it.
