Hi djace,
If you have a 350mhz iMac, you have a slot loading iMac. According to http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58474 and http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58658 , only the DV models of the slot loading iMac had a VGA output. The DV model did not come in 350mhz.
The panel doesn't make any difference. There is a translucent grill at the back that you can pull off. DV models came with one that allowed a VGA cable out through it. Underneath that would be the VGA plug.
If it isn't there, if there is only a space for one, you do not have a DV model. DV models can also be distinguished by the presence of Firewire ports, which your iMac should not have.

If you have a Mac OS 8.x or 9.x CD (depending on the iMac model), look for a Drive Setup utility somewhere on that disc. Boot from the CD while holding down the C key. Initialise the hard disk with a 'Zero all data' option chosen.

  • Can I use ASUS VM60-G072R Desktop (like mini Mac) with my iMac all in one computer? I need to use Windows version of QB and I don't want to buy a PC tower or laptop.

I need to use the Windows version of Quickbooks Pro and I don't want to use Parallel or buy a PC tower or laptop. Can I use ASUS VM60-G072R Desktop (like Apple Mini) with my iMac all-in-one computer?

Thank you Kappy. I guess I have to decide to purchase a separate monitor and keyboard for this mini PC computer then. And also find extra space in my office. I'm happy you answered my question so quickly.

  • IMac display with second computer?

Is anyone driving the 27" iMac display with a second computer?  If so, can you switch between the iMac and the second computer to see what is happening on each machine?

Yes you are.  The two machines I use are mini displayport.  Thunderbolt must hook to Thunderbolt.  I wasn't thinking of the new iMac 27".   Old timers moment.

Anyway to use the 24" iMacs screen for other computer?
I´d like to hook up another computer to the 24" iMac. I know there´s no hardware way since it´s integrated but maybe by using some magic box over usb or something and a bit of software?
I´m looking to use it under Windows running Bootcamp.

  • How can I update the Tiger software on an IMAC G5 17" widescreen computer that was corrupted?

I bought a used IMAC G5 17" widescreen computer. It boots up, but does not go to the IMAC screen. I think it had the OS X originally.
I'm new to the MAC computer OS.
    It has a 2GHZ PowerPC G5 processor
    512 on-chip level 2 cache running at 2GHZ
    512MB of DDR SDRAM
    160GB Serial ATA hards drive
    Slot loading SuperDrive (DVD+r)
    17" screen
ATI Radeon 9600 graphics LCD display
built in Airport Extreme Card for wireless networking (802.11g)
    built in Bluetooth 2.0 EDR
    Included software MAC OS X.
I need to know the simplest steps to download a bootable DVD to upgrade the OS. If I can get the OS to work again. I'll use this for an everyday computer.
    Thanks, Dean

There are no legitimate downloads of Mac OS software.
That should be modified to say There are no legitimate downloads of Mac OS software that will run with your computer.
Mac App Store downloads of 10.7, 10.8, 10.9 may be purchased directly off the Mac App Store, but they can not run on a G5, or early Intel Macs.
Now another thing to mention is, dinohhr2, you didn't say which software is included in your purchase.   Some people may include 10.4.0, 10.4.3, 10.4.6
in its retail variety, and that looks like: https://discussions.apple.com/servlet/JiveServlet/showImage/102-2541-30-43244/ti ger.jpg
and does not say Upgrade, Dropin, or OEM on it.  If they did, you have lucked out, and can upgrade to 10.4.11 free:

  • Apple iMac G3/350 connect to router

Hi i've just been given an imac g3/350 running osx 10.2x and i cant get it to connect to my router via ethernet. Router is a linksy bg834gt tried connecting with an ethernet cable but there is no response no matter how i configure the tcp/ip settings. ethernet works as i can connect it to my laptop and see the mac in my PC's network.
Do i need to use a crossover cable?
    any other ideas?

ethernet works as i can connect it to my laptop and see the mac in my PC's network.
What do you mean by this? You mean you connected you iMac ethernet port directoy to you your laptop ethernet port via an ethernet cable. You would have most likely used a crossover cable to do this.
Do i need to use a crossover cable?
No you need a straight thru cable. Try a cable that you know works.
    any other ideas?
sometimes the mac doesn't read the dns address correctly. I suggest you fill in the dns address your ISP uses.
    DNS
What is a DNS? DNS stands for Domain Name Server.
When you enter an Internet address such as google.com into a web browser, your system needs to translate the character string into a numeric value. The address google.com translates to 72.14.204.103. A DNS server does this translation. There is a hierarchical series of DNS servers. The first DNS servers starts on your machine.
When using DHCP to set up your Internet connection, your ISP's DHCP server will provide you with an address of a DNS server.
You may configure your own DNS server address or addresses if you wish.
    BDAqua suggests in a post:
You can use OpenDNS for looking up web addresses.

  • HT1338 How much is a iMac 20-inch widescreen computer 2007 going for now of days?

So I am going to try to sell my iMac 20-inch widescreen computer from 2007, and I am trying to use that money to buy a MacBook Air before August 14th and I was just wondering how much I should sell it for.

As a buyer of a used computer, I value installed software at zero, since I already have the apps I want. An erase-and-install on a used computer is sensible anyway, to get a clean system.
On the other hand, I value Applecare on a used computer at at least half of the cost of the coverage, and the third year of warranty is the most valuable one!

  • How to i provide help to another imac user over the computer

How to i provide onscreen help to another imac user over the computer?

    Hi,
If you both have iChat or Messages you can use it's Screen Sharing abilities.
You can do this AIM to AIM (Screen Names that are valid with the AIM service which includes some Apple Issued Apple ID names - although this can be version dependent)
You can also do it Jabber ID to Jabber ID.
Jabber IDs include Google Mail IDs set up for Google talk and Facebook Accounts with Chat Enabled.
Check you can Video chat with the person as it takes a similar amount of Bandwidth (the bit of the Internet Speed you computer gets).
You needs to Enable Screen Sharing in the Video Menu of iChat or the Messages app in Mountain Lion.
Highlight the Buddy in the Buddy list and use the icon at the bottom of the Buddy list (It will offer your to them  or them to you)
You can also use the Buddies menu when a Buddy is highlighted.
It is also possible to "switch" to Screen Sharing in a Video chat.
In reality it instantly closes the Video chat and Starts the Screen Share.
It does not have the ability to "Switch" back as closing the Screen Share close the connection.
Screen Sharing includes a Audio Chat alongside  (Technically it is an Audio  Chat with an Apple Remote Desktop type VNC connection.  The Apple Remote Desktop engine provides the "Desktop" "Pics").
To do this VNC part you router will need to be using UPnP (Or Port Mapping Protocol in Apple Base Stations)
AS Video chats and Audio chats use the same ports to connect it means that if you can Video your can Screen Share

  • IMac 20" can be use also only as monitor?

Hallo, i'm interested to know if the new iMac 20" can be used also only as monitor, i mean if can be connected an PC with windows XP to the iMac. From the Technical Specifications page i couldn't understad, sure that is possible to connect another monitor or TV but is not clear if there is a video IN port.
    Thanks

    No this is not possible.
The best you could do is run some sort of remote control software on the mac to control your windows xp machine with i.e Microsoft Remote Desktop of Virtual Network Computing (VNC)
You can watch tv on your mac with special accessories that let you record tv signals and encode them to your hard drive in the mac.

My 2008 imac 7,1 has mini-dvi, a new monitor I got only have (regular size) display port, after failing to find a "mini-dvi to displayport" adapter.

  • I need to connect my Imac 27'' (newest version) up to 3/4 monitors (all 40'' LCD tv's with VGA and HDMI connections) with extended display to all external screens, not duplicate images. Is this possible?

i need to connect my Imac 27'' (newest version) up to 3/4 monitors (all 40'' LCD tv's with VGA and HDMI connections) with extended display to all external screens, not duplicate images. Is this possible?

I would suggest you visit an Apple dealer, preferably an Apple Store if there's one in your city, and ask for assistance in determining what you need. The questions and issues you bring up are rather complex to address in a technical support forum and would be better addressed in person where you and the salesperson can ask questions back and forth to arrive at the optimal setup.

  • 27 inch iMac to a 29 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2913WM monitor. What do I need to hook these two up?

27 inch iMac to a 29 inch Dell Ultrasharp U2913WM monitor. What do I need to hook these two up?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
That monitor has got a lot of ports you can use. The easiest and cheapest way to connect the iMac to the Dell monitor is through a Mini DisplayPort cable, because you do not need any adapter.
Another way you have is to connect it through HDMI. In this case, you need a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable

Nope, you are describling Target Display Mode. Please read Apple's Target Display Mode: Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) and you will see the other device (in your case a Raspberry Pi) has to have a Thunderbolt port that supports TDM.
