IMac G5 20" 1.8ghz no display output

Hello,
been working on this for a while now.
I have an iMac G5 20" 1.8 ghz, with no display output/black.
What indications i am seeing -
diagnositics leds - all three green are lit, meaning GPU is talking to LCD.
secondary display connected and working correctly.
start up chime present.
looking at LCD in dark room, seeing the backlight working correctly.
what i have done -
Pram reset
smu reset
PSU change
Ram changed
LCD unit changed for known good one
LCD display cable changed for known good one
AHT will not load so no go there.
Any help to get this resolved will be great.

This happened to mine years ago: diagnosis revealed motherboard needed....IOW, yours is prolly dead too.
I am now researching a way of re- purposing the (intact) LCD as a 2* monitor (nothing yet), and removing the HD for use as a bootable 10.3.9 disk in a G5 tower.

Turn off external display output?

I've bought a nice big LCD TV mainly for consoles. Because I have it next to my iMac i've also connected that to the TV using a mini-dvi adapter and a dvi-hdmi cable.
It works great but I only want to use it for playing downloaded video and the like on the big tv.
When I'm not using it I want my iMac to free up the resources it must be using to achieve screen spanning but I cannot figure out a way to tell the iMac to disable external display output.
I've tried display mirroring figuring that it won't be eating up video RAM, but it causes page tearing on my mac when dragging windows around for example.
Even when the TV is unplugged from the mains the mac seems to be outputting to the dvi out, the only way to stop it is the yank the mini-dvi connecter from the back.
Are there any hacks or utilities that can manually turn dvi support on and off?

I'm using a 27" flat screen TV, mini DVI and 12' S-Video cable.
Mostly I watch DVD movies on that Display while working at the iMac's 17" it's also great for iPhoto Slideshows and PowerPoint.
Not to worry the TV supports it's own display and all you are doing is sending a signal to it's video card. Just turn it off or change the channel.
I tend to stay away from mirroring for the same reasons, but also because the TV's across the room.

Just be sure to gather up all your windows back to the iMac Display befor shutting off or changing the channel.

An iMac 20" with an 20" Cinema Display as second screen in dual

I'm planning to buy an iMac 20" but I want to be sure of something before. I want to know if the screen of an iMac 20" and an 20" Cinema Display put together will be exactly at the same position. I search a lot online to have a picture of this but I only found some 17" iMac put together of an 20" Cinema Display. If someone can answer and/or give me a picture of this that would be really nice.

same thing for every change of 4th field .
So the problem is with inserting the line with string "Total of 3rd+4th" in the output .
Can Anyone help me out?

I was able to find these instructions, however they referr to 2009-2011 27" iMacs. I think it's the same, if it's not then contact Apple directly for instructions. If either of the machines is less than 90 days old or covered by AppleCare then call AppleCare tomorrow for help, they should be able to easily answer this for you. You will find the number in your manual or you can use the AppleCare Contact Info link.
Your iMac should automatically recognize the presence of a digital video signal at the Mini DisplayPort and enter Target Display Mode.
If your iMac does not automatically enter Target Display Mode, press command + F2 to manually enter Target Display Mode.

Anyway, as such it's realy easy since you can use HTML in order to import to Excel. All you need to do is add
runtime->server->response->set_header_field( name = 'Contnet-Type'
value = 'application/vnd.ms-excel' ).

runtime->server->response->delete_header_field( name = 'Expires' ).

To get TV on your iMac off the cable box you would need to use an external TV tuner device such as the company ElGato is highly regarded for. I have used one of their EyeTV products for many years with my iMac to watch television shows from my Comcasst cable TV box. You can look at the models here:

As I have been using MacBook Pro (Mid 2010) and Mac Air (Mid 2011) for business purpose, I wanna use them working at home.
I really expected that there was new cinema display with Retina display, but there wasn't. However, New iMac looks really nice & I would love to buy it.
But Using a 27-inch iMac(Mid 2012) as an external display is one of my important required function to buy it.
What do you think? is a 27-inch iMac (Mid 2012) able to use target display mode?

there's a lot of misinformation so far here. Yes you can use all the 27-inch iMacs as external displays.
However there a few problems.
2009-2010 27-inch iMacs can only work with Apple computers that have the Mini-DisplayPort.
2011-2012 21-inch and 27-inch iMacs can only work as a display with Macs that have thunderbolt ports.
so as long as your 2011 MBA has thunderbolt, the new one will do fine. your 2010 MBP will not be able to use the iMac as a display.

Have a 17" iMac that developed the "lines" symptom within a month after the factory warranty expired - that computer is all but useless now unless I spend the $700+ to get the display working again (& who knows how long the fix will last...)
Now, the 23" Cinema display I've owned for less than a year is developing similar symptoms. Was editing some images today that had solid darker gray patterned backgrounds when I noticed the vertical lines - 3 or 4 so far. They look different (smaller, less distinct) than the ones on the iMac, but sure enough they're there - vertical lines throughout my less than 1-year old Cinema display!

That could be the graphics board. Anyway, the display is still under warrantee. Also, you still have a chance to buy AppleCare for it.

Thunderbolt Display output only 800 x 600!!?!?!?!

Just got the Mac Book Pro Quad Core, 15", 8 gig ram.
I'm using the display output adapter in the Tunderbolt port. It outputs and syncs to my Image Pro switcher, but the options for the display output for the external only go up to 800 x 600.
Anyone know anything about this?
My old MacBook Pro could go up to the full resolution with the same video switcher and the same mini display output adapter.

It's possible that the switcher isn't compatible. Safe to presume that without the switcher you can achieve the desired resolution?

If you see a red light in the audio output port, then the internal switch is stuck. Insert the earphone plug a few times and see if you can trip the switch. If that fails, insert a cocktail stirrer and the like and jiggle it around inside. If that fails, take it to an Apple store and have the technicians at the genius bar do it for you.

[GTX770]No display output HDMI/Displayport when booting

I've recently upgraded to an Haswell setup with a MSI Z97 pc mate and MSI GTX770. The card seems to work fine when I use DVI output. However, when i try to use either hdmi or displayport I only get display output once i'm in windows. The bios and booting process give no output on either connection.
Is there something wrong with the GFX card, is there some bios setting i can try?
