IMac G5 - Can't find accurate tech info

Hello, Forum;
My G5 iMac developed a problem last week where it tries to start, the screen stays dark (no activity what so ever) and the fan goes into overdrive. All conventional work-arounds have had no effect (restarting from DVD drive to reinstall software, etc). I've been scanning the internet for DIY remedies and heve been wanting to try resetting the SMU, but every piece of information I've found on how to remove the background cover is different from my iMac. For instance, there are supposedly three Philips head screws across the bottom that, once removed, should allow the back cover to be removed showing all hardware still lying in the front cover pan. Mine has three 'star driver' (look like asterisks) screws that, when removed, allow for the back & front cover to separate, but the guts of the computer (including screen) are fastened to the back cover and sealed in black plastic. There is no getting to the mother board and checking LEDs for diagnostics, much less resetting the SMU.
Why is mine so different and what are my options at this point&

If you have restrictions at the infoprovider level in the RKF then it is coming from that particular infocube.
Or go to the selection option in the multiprovider...her you can get the mappings of which key figure is populted from which infocube.
For characteristics you will have to look for identification tab in the characteristics option.

When I turn on my IMac it can not find the my wireless network automatically, I have select it manually, even with apple support problem still exist.

I also have an MacBook Pro and have no problem with this laptop finding my network everytime. Does anyone else have this problem. This problem started within the last month.

System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.
Instead of joining your Network from the list, click the WiFi icon at the top, and click join other network. Fill in everything as needed.

For syncing my phone, however, I am automatically sent to the iTunes page, and to the sync/device screen I want. After I sync, though, it's gone and I can't view my other details. The only reliable way back there is to unplug the phone and plug it in again. Fair enough, I guess. But, weirdly, the little phone icon does sometimes show up (by the menu upper left) and will let me back in, but there's no rhyme or reason to when or why. It's funny - kinda like some random game of Whack-a-Mole.

Can't Find File/Dir info Error 3 :: 30 and (-43)

Please help me with this issue. There's very little previous mention anywhere about this sort of problem.
I'm trying to open an After Effects file that I haven't opened in a while, and the footage I used in the project has since been deleted. When I click it to open it it gives me the message:
After Effects Error: finding file/dir info for file "C://user// yada yada yada....Segment2.aep" file not found (-43)
3 :: 30
All my plugins are still intact and I've tried everything mentioned on the one other thread about 3::30 (which only contained one suggestion).
I really need to access this file as I did a lot of work in there that I can use again and save days of work, even though the footage the file used is gone.

Oh, well it looked from your initial description that you had possibly imported an After Effects project into another After Effects project.
That being said, you may want to try the very same thing to see if you can salvage you seemingly corrupt project file. Try to create a brand new After Effects project, and import the file that you're trying to open (Segment2.aep) into the new project. If the file isn't corrupted, it should import.
Aside from that, if you have a backup of your old project, I'd suggest trying to restore it.

How do I override the blue color added when I add a hyperlink? (I found the modify page properties/links drop-down to remove the underline, but I can't figure out how to default to the original text color and only show link during rollover, or add my own formatting (e.g. strong) to show the link.
Also - can anyone tell me where to find the most comprehensive help section for Dreamweaver CS5, where I can find answers to questions like this link question? I've tried search, reference, help features within Dreamweaver, tutorials/faqs/forums on the adobe.com site (and I've been using Lynda.com tutorials which are great). How to style your links is not so much a Dreamweaver issue, I guess it is probably your knowledge of CSS that is running short here.
There is plenty of info on the web, just google for "styling links CSS" and you'll find lots of how-to's
Your best option to find help might be to buy a good book. I learned a lot from Dreamweaver CS5: The Missing Manual, First Edition by David Sawyer McFarland
I found CSS: The Missing Manual, 2nd Edition by the same author maybe even more useful, since it focuses solely on CSS instead of on the Dreamweaver program details. So check that out too, or buy them both, like I did. Both are excellent books, which will surely answer your questions and learn you how to do things right from the start.

IMac wifi can't find my network but can find everyone else's.

My iMac continually can't always find my home network (mostly can't), it can see all the neighbours ones but not mine. My macbook, iPhone and apple tv have no issues and connect everytime so it's not the network.
Any ideas?

Try 'creating a new location', if you haven't already. Also, a few other things to try in this list of suggestions:
Wifi problems seem to crop up a lot on here and unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a 'one fix' solution.
However, sometimes any one of the following can help although, unfortunately, not always. In no particular order:
Check wifi security - if it's WEP change it to WPA or WPA2 (preferably, as it's more secure)
Change the wifi channel on the router
Create a new Network Location: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5289
Reboot the router

Where are the persona packages stored on a Win7 PC with FF6/7b? Also, I can not find any actual info on what the process is to create a new persona theme, all of the info I can find is rather vague and never even tries to explain anything.

I want to make a custom persona, but none of the info I find on the web actually states where or how persona packages are actually stored on a Vista/Win7 PC. I'm using FF 6 and 7beta. Where the heck are custom persona stored while they are disabled?

The music should be in iTunes and your photos should be in iPhoto. What happens if you launch those applications?

How do I order a Mac Pro w/ Bluetooth installed? Can't find any clear info.

It's driving me nuts, that I can't get a clear answer on this. Search just turns up people installing them.
I'm planning on buying an 8-Core in June, and I want it to come with Bluetooth. Nowhere on the Configure screen does it have an option to have one come installed. The online manuals don't say whether they just are built-in or not.
Can someone please give me some clear info on how a Mac Pro can come with Bluetooth. I seriously swear I'm not an idiot.

HP Printer Connected to iMac--MacBook Can't Find It

Despite numerous attempts we can't figure out how to get my daughter's MacBook to locate our workhorse HP Laserjet 1300 printer, which is connected by USB cable directly to my iMac. Ours is a wired and wireless network; my daughter connects wirelessly. She used to be able to access the old HP. It stopped working after we installed Mountain Lion on all of our machines. Yes, I know that ML doesn't support this printer, so we use a generic print driver which, for our simple purposes, prints fine. I cannot seem to get her MacBook to locate the HP connected to mine.

Thanks for this. I can't try your suggestion now as my daughter had the nerve to make off with her MacBook for the day. One quesiton: Does the procedure you've described require that I establish for my iMac (the "server") a static IP address?
I've got no problem doing so, but I can imagine that dynamic IPs could mess up printing for her in the future.
If I need to establish a static IP for my iMac, how do I go about it?

Can not find "Reply-To" Info in incoming mail

Hi guys,
searched google and here to no avail:
I recently received an email from a person who replied through a web form. The "From" address was "[email protected]" but there was a "Reply-To:" field in the headers I received that had the guy's personal e-mail address.
I saw this Reply-To info on my desktop machine using Mail.app on OS X 10.6.1.
The mail had been sent to me at Mac.com and forwarded to me at Gmail where I aggregate all my incoming email.
BUT... when I went to reply to him from my iPhone later in the day, there was no sign of the Reply-To information, anywhere.
Am I overlooking documentation explaining this, a setting, or location for this data, or is this a BIG flaw in the iPhone Mail app??

I tried each of the available exportformats: .doc, .docx, .xls, .rtf. None of them worked, which only the message "conversion failure".

It sounds like there may be an issue with the file that you're trying to convert. Have you tried to convert other files? If so, are they converting without error?
Please tell me a little more about the file that you're trying to convert. For example, what is its file size, how many pages does it have, are there lots of graphics, or a mix of fonts? If the file is complex, it may be that the ExportPDF service is timing out before it can complete the conversion process. It also possible, that the PDF may not be written properly, if t was created by a third-party appellation.
You can simplify the conversion process by disabling OCR as described here: How to disable Optical Character Recognition (O... | Adobe Community (but this solution isn't optimal if the PDF was created from a scanned document.)
Please let us know a bit more about your file, and we'll see what we can figure out.
