IMac has few display options, any way to enable more?

This is my uncle's iMac () and there are a lack of options for resolution. He's running @ 1920x1200 but the next level down is 1344x840. Is there any way to enable more resolutions between those 2, as it seems like a fairly big drop in resolution settings.

Since the hardware acceleration checkbox was created, a second kind of acceleration was added to Firefox that may need to be disabled in about:config; the checkbox has not been extended to toggle both of them for you.
Regular preference (checkbox): gfx.direct2d.disabled (default=false)<br>
Added preference (no checkbox): gfx.content.azure.enabled (default=true)

If you haven't used about:config before, here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''gfx''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click '''gfx.content.azure.enabled''' to toggle its value from true to false. As with the regular hardware acceleration preference, you might need to restart Firefox before this takes effect.

Thunderbirs has stoped working in any way for me and more others

Hello. Starting on 04/08/2014 the Thunderbird has stopped working in any way in my PC. I am running Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Before that day everything was ok and Thunderbird was working. I asked some friends using Windows 8 and they have the same problem. Thunderbird won't load the email accounts and won't send and receive any email. It won't even let us add a new email account. The message received when trying to add a new account is the following "Sorry - we're unable to communicate with our sign-up server. Please check your connection.". Also if we will try to move forward and add a new email account anyway the answer will be that Thunderbird can't connect to any server. We have uninstalled Thunderbird and install it again several times in the past days with no success. I was looking t delete the Thunderbird folder in Program files but I can't find it. The uninstall and install again procedure including deleting folder was a solution few years ago but it seams that now is not working anymore. I will really appreciate some help as my whole work is based on working with an email client and my work is stacked at the moment. I really don't know what other email client to use as the 2013 Outlook looks just terrible. Thank you very much

When I try to open Thunderbird, first time I receive the message, "Sorry - we're unable to communicate with our sign-up server. Please check your connection."
I will press the "skip and using my existing email", I will enter any Gmail or AOL email account (which usually works perfect with Thunderbird) and after enter it the name, email and password the message will be "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account" (even if everything is correct). 2 days before was another message. Thunderbird found the settings for the email account but after pressing "Done", the message was something like the mail or password are not correct. (even if everything was correct). In the same time in browser the email will work. The email settings are correct. Everything was working fine and 3-4 days before Thunderbird just stopped working. Stopped to get emails or sending emails and after uninstall and install it again I couldn't even add my emails accounts again.

During a presentation, is there any way to show more than two slides at a time in the secondary display? Sometimes during a presentation i have to go back to a certain slide without notice (usually no more than ten slides behind or in front of the current slide)

Nope. But you can jump around easily enough. Just type in the number of the slide you want (or any number, really, because you can then use the arrow keys to scroll to the correct slide), and hit return.

Qosmio G20: Is there any way to enable FM radio?

Is there any way to enable FM radio reception on Qosmio G20. Any hardware upgrade or accessories?

You would need to attach some sort external fm tuner. Some usb tv cards have fm radio as well, so you might consider this if you want an additional tuner.
I use a Haupauge WinTV USB2, which also has an fm tuner. If you want to use this with Media Centre there are specific drivers on the Hauppauge site that set this up a second tv tuner within Media Centre, and also give you fm radio in MC.
Alternatively if you use the drivers that come with it you can use as a stand alone tv tuner and fm radio player.

i was just wondering if there was any way to get more than 1000 characters in the notes section of the ipod. i have outlines for school and they are a lot longer than 1000 characters... i didnt know if there is a setting on itunes or the ipod or a hack or mod to make it more than 1000 character limit. thanks for the help

You can use the iPod in Disk mode and copy the outlines in their native format (Word?) and put them on your own computer.

In pervious version of OS X, the Calendar app showed a "list view" while in the "day" view. Here's an example. Any way to enable this or did Apple kill this helpful feature?

I've learned by reading other topics that I can't upgrade my graphics card on my Macbook Pro because it's soldered into the motherboard or somthing like that, but please tell me if there is any way to get more video ram by chaning some setting or upgrading something else. The only two items that a user can change on a MBP are the RAM and HDD (Retinas not included). You have what the unit came with and the only way you will be able to change that is to purchase a MBP with superior graphics
If you are very much into gaming, the I suggest A PC. They are far superior for that type of application to a MBP.

Left audio track disabled in premiere when importing to Audition... Any way to enable?

I'd ask in the Audition forum but I cnanot post there for some reason.
Anyway, I sent a range of clips from my work area to Audition. Made some edits on some clips and realized that I left a track disabled in premiere when I sent them to Audition. is there any way to enable this track now in Audition or am I going to have to scrap whatever I did so far and start a new import with that track enabled?

I like to use Photoshop CS5, DXO Optics and Topaz to edit photos with while working in Lightroom 3. When I use the "Edit Photo In..."

Hi Michael,
You can set the thresholds via an import file. The easiest way to do this (and this goes for all importable data, webapps included, 301 redirects and so on) is this:
1. go into the Admin and create a single item, in you case create a test product and set the thresholds
2. export that data - in your case export the product list
3. take a look at how the data looks like in the export file so you can get an idea of how the format should be like in the import file
Unfortunately you cannot set more than 2 thresholds, that is not possible at the moment.

Genre options - any way to change?

Does anyone know if it is possible (if it isn't, I think this is a BIG flaw, if it is is, I've completely missed it) to change the options on an Ipod or in Itunes so that when I click on Genres (on my Ipod) and then on Soundtracks (hey, some people like showtunes), I can see the albums rather than the artists? This is completely useless as is. Many musicals download from ITunes or commercial cd's with the artist as "Various Artists" or by name of the particular singer of each song. When I'm on the road and feel like listening to a musical, it doesn't help me to go to Soundtracks and scroll through "Various Artists"--I want to see what musicals are in there and play one of them! I know I can scroll through albums instead, but I have hundreds of albums and that's not exactly easy to do and catch every musical as it scrolls by. Any way to do this?

Robin - nothing wrong with showtunes (and no, I'm not snickering behind my keyboard!). I have Wicked, Le Mis, and the Producers, on mine right now.
First, select Settings and then Main Menu on the iPod. Scroll down and select genres.
Second, take advantage of playlists! I have created 10 playlists in iTunes that I sync with my iPod. They include Jazz, Show Tunes, Americana, Symphonic, Rock. True, these are genre based playlists but in my genre tag I get much more precise: Contemporary Jazz, Vocal Jazz, Big Band, Bebop, etc so having more generic playlists makes it convenient.

I'm trying to use my Apple headphones a mic on GarageBand. After about an hour of researching, I've found that my iMac (Mid 2007) is not compatible with an external audio input/microphone.
