this is driving me crazy- how do I block it- every phone text message shows up on the computer.

You are referring to Messages. Since 10.8.2, Messages can read messages sent to the iPhone from your Mac, but you can turn this off.
To do it, open Messages, and go to Messages menu (on the menu bar) > Preferences > Accounts. Now, select the Apple ID on the sidebar and, under “Send & Receive”, unmark all the email addresses and phone numbers from what you receive messages to the iPhone, so they will stop being shown in your Mac

It sounds like you’re running into a password issue with an older Apple ID that’s setup on your iPhone, which is preventing you from removing an iCloud account from your device. Take a look at the article linked below, it outlines all of the possible ways to change an Apple ID password.

If you have set up photo stream, this can't be done. As soon as you switch off photo stream on her device to keep your photos from coming to her device, you won't get any as well from her. Same for messages, you can't have both, sorry.
Maybe look into the family sharing feature if you want the photos to be shared:

Version 6 & 7 always start with the "Almost there" message. How do I stop the message?

When I start Firefox on one computer, the first tab opened is always an "Almost there" welcome message (http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/2.0.0.6/whatsnew/). This is not the home page which also opens in another tab. This happens in all accounts on this computer, running Windows XP SP3 Professional. I have uninstalled and re-installed the software. I have attempted to delete all associated files. I have attempted to delete all entries in the registry. This problem has existed since sometime in version 5. How do I stop this? How do you stop the message, disc ejected improperly

First time pulled out my back up program instead of ejecting it. Every day received message disc was ejected improperly

When Aperture prompts you to save the MobileMe galleries, select "Learn More".
This will make the panel vanish.
Then select "File > Web Accounts > Edit Web Accounts" from the main menu bar and delete the MobileMe account from the list of accounts in Aperture.

I keep getting a message telling me Mobile me has gone and I already haave i cloud on my i pad.

When you see the message, click the "Learn more" button, not "o.k.", then open the iPhoto Preferences, select the "accounts" panel, remove the Mobile Me account.
Then also sign out of Mobile Me from the System Preferences > Mobile Me panel, if you have not already done so.

For the past month, every time I open Firefox, the Mozilla Start Page (with Google in the middle) takes over my home page setting (NY Times). How can I stop this from happening?

To the extent that I could, I tried the above, despite the lack of clarity at times. For example, how do the uninitiated find "sessionstore.js" and "sessionstore.bak" and the Firefox profile folder? Assuming that I eventually find them, what in the world does "check for problems" mean?

1. This is a very ugly design -- I understand Adobe wants users to pay money for those functions, but make it occupy users' precious screen space by default is a very awkward way.
2. Acrobat DC does not really "remember" the last state!! Every time, when we open a pdf file, the tool pane will be on the right. You are wrong with your product !
3. As an computer software engineer, I do not think fixing this one takes ~3 months. It only need to switch the default mode, unless Adobe is unwilling to do it.
4. People have figured out how to solve the problem (smarter than Adobe engineer??)

Go to the install directory, i.e." C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroApp\ENU". Create a new subfolder (I used "Disabled"). Move 3 files from the "ENU" folder into the new "Disabled" folder: AppCenter_R.aapp & Home.aapp & Viewer.aapp. Open a PDF and no more Tool Pane! I originally moved just the "Viewer" file but if you clicked on "Home" or "Tools" on the toolbar you couldn't go back to the "Document." Moving all 3 files takes care of that issue. Like a lot of people I don't and won't ever use any of the tools. I just want a reader. Let me know if this works for you.
The new "right hand toolbar" in Acrobat DC is always on by default, proving instant access to frequently used tools. That said, we're definitely hearing a # of customers that want Acrobat DC to "remember" the last state. So if you close it, it'll remain closed when you open it next. Looking to have a fix in place in next ~3 months here.

How can I stop the download dialog from appearing every time I open Firefox 5.o latest version?

Ever since I downloaded Firefox 5.0 the other day I get the download dialog every time I start Firefox 5.0.1. I told the download dialog to save Firefox 5.0.1 when I downloaded it. If I now say yes to the dialog it will download and save a new copy of the program like 5.0.1 (1). If I say cancel on the dialog I keep getting the dialog every time I start Firefox 5.0.1.

Try to clear the cache and the cookies.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Maybe also do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

How do I stop the "other" data from growing every time I sync my iPhone?

I recently started putting music on my iPhone 4s, and I found that every time I sync music, the "other" storage keeps growing. This only happens when I sync music. If I don't have music on my iPhone, the "other" doesn't grow. Why is this?? Does anyone know how to make this stop? I had to restore my phone as new to delete the "other" storage (I had almost 3 G on my 8 G iPhone). Because the "other" data takes up so much room, I find it difficult to add everything that I want to on my iPhone (like all of my music). Please help!

Resolution
Try disconnecting and reconnecting your device, then syncing again to solve this issue.
Orphaned files may remain on your iOS device if it is physically disconnected while syncing music, podcasts, videos, or photos. This can prevent iTunes from syncing the iOS device on subsequent sync sessions. When this happens, the Capacity indicator in iTunes may report a large amount of "Other" disk usage for the iOS device. To resolve this issue:
Turn off the music or photo sync option in iTunes for the device.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Turn the music and photo sync options for the device on again.
Click Apply again to try to sync the device to iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 5.
Turn off the automatic syncing functions for the iOS device. To do this:
Select the iOS device from the iTunes window and click the Summary tab.
Deselect "Automatically sync when this device is connected" and select the "Sync only checked songs and videos" checkbox.
Click Apply to sync the changes to the device.
Reduce the amount of data that is being synced to the device and resync the device. For example, if syncing your Music library exceeds the memory capacity of the device, choose "Selected playlists" to transfer rather than "All songs and playlists" under the Music tab in iTunes.
If the 'Not enough free space' alert appears, continue to step 6.
Restore using iTunes.
